- First off let me sat this now that the tune has been uploaded. THIS CAR IS WAYY TOO MUYCH FUN TO DRIVE! So the Guys over at Intec seriously helped out today with the Tune on the BRZ after a late night of tuning @AdamLZs car for Formula Drift. So huge shout out to them. But we did run into a few small issues while going through the tune. For some reason the ECU and the ECUTEK license and cable did not want to communicate with the car at all. But we got a work around for it. I went into the tune thinking we would be around 8-11 PSI and we took the lower end to play it a little safer since we are engine swapping the STI so stayed at 8 PSI. There are a few small things that need to be cleaned up with the tune but we will get that taken care of at a later date. For now, enjoying these new power figures!

I almost got a BRZ but went with the STI instead. installing the FA 500 coils and Stoptech rotors on the 6th. Rims and tires next. Tons of fun learning and meeting new people. thanks

Rad man!!! That means you have well over 300 at the crank.. I’m sure it’s PLENTY for that little beast.. What did they say about reliability? Since the car came naturally aspirated and the ring gaps are tighter will the pistons hold with that amount of boost for the long haul? Now I wanna build one lol
We could have kept pushing it but for longevity we kept it at 8 PSI, we were going to try and push up to 11PSI but the trans is pretty weak. From what ive seen the FA20 in the BRZ is okay up to 350WHP. Overall it ahould last but time will tell. And they're so much fun with mkre power 😍
Wish I could find a good tuner shop here in Phoenix. Don't know any. Also, ever thought about E85!?

Yeah the Phoenix car scene kinda sucks fof the brz, even subaru shops wont tune our cars. Just do an e-tune from Delicious tuning and ask for a dyno day.

Happy that everything worked out. Dyno day can be scary and stressful. But now the BRZ has the power it need. Can you do an auto cross or track day with it please. Todd from Everyday Driver always praise this chassis for best handling but lack of power.
Thats the plan! Just got the registration list to be able to take it out there 🙏 few things in the tune still need to be worked out but once it is 100% were going out!

I had 220kw or 295hp damn close. Tanner check out Mighty car mods CZcams channel they have a blue brz on there they just turboed too. Love the BRZ shame I will never own one as im too tall for them lol will have to stick with my bugeye. Love the show keep up the great work cant wait to see the eg33 finished

@@Smeedia :) you are right about the american version having a twin setup as well. I just cant recall the one that we didnt get...well there is one lhd of this jdm spec in america that is factory. In Mazda hq locked up. I think motortrend had the chance to drive it like 8 years or so back now.
How does the power feel in the brz? Im not familiar with rwd, closest for me is the r35. Ive been wondering what it is going to be like for the winter? Im not sure what your snow conditions are :/ myself being in the northeast ohio area, we can get some nasty snow or some pathetic slush mixed salt ickness... see a lot of >_> people on the side of the road
The power to weight makes the car feel amazing, it breaks traction in 4th gear with the 255s on it. Not a huge amount of power but honestly puts the car at a very fun driving aspect 😍

Smeedia you are correct, I had a 2018 Impreza and the tip is bent down instead of straight. It was nice tho because I did a muffler delete from nameless and it was so hidden that no cop ever knew xD. It’s technically illegal to run them where I live but on my 2020 wrx I have nameless deletes coming in a few week.

@@Smeedia I will definitely. With the open deck restrictions I will be anywhere between 450 to 550 hp. With around 20 to 25 pounds max boost. Daily map will be around 350 ish

In the future I plan on super charging my 86. Is it really risky and lowers reliability ? Will stuff be turning off for me ?
When tuned properly it shouldent, a supercharger will give you less issues than a turbo set up will

Made 246 whp and 192 lbft on a dynocom dyno not too bad thats put it around 300ish to the crank and that means your well into the 320's if i want more tho i gotta swap a pulley out and injectors and the fuel pump. Hope you get yours figured out!

8 psi? Damn I almost wonder if a super charger would have been a cheaper option. I guess a turbo setup has longevity if the engine is ever built it can be pushed further. Edit: it's also a much lighter platform so maybe I'm just being biased by sti boost numbers and this is the perfect amount.
From what the shop told me, they just did a SC BRZ a few weeks back and on 11 PSI on the Super charger it made what I made on 8 PSI

Toyota should cave and give a stock turbo already. Everyone who throws a turbo on the 86 says it makes a huge difference.
It makes a huge difference and so far improves the responsiveness and drive ability of the car 🔥

They charge $200 an hour, not a set rate like most other shops

Your tuner couldnt make you a base map for what you have on? So you could atleast drive the car.
Not qith the ECUTEK from what I know, not entirely sure how this tuning software works. I only bought the cable and license and not the software. Without the software I couldn't access any type of tunes to upload to the car

Holy shit Subaru’s don’t make power for shit. I regret buying my wrx. Could’ve spent less money on a 2011ish Silverado with a stock 5.3 and just get a turbo kit and made 500whp for what I’ve spent on my wrx. Would’ve been a more reliable daily too and much longer life span then a Subaru.
Never had an issue with subarus reliability but theyre definitely not cars for cheap easy power. Definitely gotta have deep pockets for them to get up there 😅
