    i had an inventory worth around 30k when i was 18, through investing in cases and stickers very early on. i had been using gambling websites through cs since i was 14 and after i hit a major depressive episode in my life i lost all i had worked towards... the prevalence and promotion of all these gambling websites it absolutely sickening to me. this video was very informative keep it up

      Wtf is wrong with you mate. People make mistakes and learn from them. Such as life, the sites preying on the vulnerable are the problem.

    I am socially isolated my sleep schedule is disrupted and my academic performance is truly poor. That being said I like to learn very much even. I am actually a little scared writing this because I realised I don't retain information very well. This video hit deep. I wish you all the best

      Hey mate, I struggled through uni playing CS all day and I average like 5 hours of sleep everyday on top of working full time now. Don't be scared, I think we need to embrace it, it will get better, might get worse before it gets better, but eventually it will be better. 😊

    Yeah I'm totally addicted to CS and I don't see anything ever replacing it in my life.
    I have suffered from anxiety, depression, derealization and an overall bad attitude towards the human condition. Video games is the release from this and gives me the ability to do what I want in my reality. Also it's still an example at the flaw of human existence in video games and even that escape is another example of the constant repeating pattern in life, that everything is chaos and you have to make the best of it.
    In my journey of mental health improvement I found CBT, Stoicism, and self-care techniques. Without the challenges of self-improvement or finding the best version of myself inside the game, I would have never made these improvements in my outside life.
    I don't see myself as chronically disabled due to this addiction, but with my passion and devotion to Counter-Strike, I was able to create other skill sets alongside of it.

      I think another commenter have said a point very well, it is about perspective. I think since you are enjoying the game and you are aware of it's place in your life, it is a great addition to your life.

    The cure to my CS gambling addiction for me was to just quit the game and never look back, CS is the best e-sports of all time and i still actively watch it, though i'll only hop on and pl;ay with friends every once in a while because as soon as i get back into this game my money dissapears in gambling and skins that i end up gambling and losing anyway, my 5k backpack value went down to 1.8k and im one of the lucky ones that cashed out before losing it all. If you can't help it, do yourself a favor and uninstall CS. Thanks for talking about this topic man

    If you are happy with your life then gaming is a hobby, if you are unhappy with your life then gaming is escapism.
    I've been around long enough that I come from a time when playing video games was seen as nerdy, unattractive to women, and something that only children should do. As time went on people have accepted gaming as a hobby for people of any age. I used to feel guilty playing video games until I realized most of that guilt was self-imposed or improperly directed. Games give us something to fixate on and can create a distraction from the real world. When you stop a gaming session virtual reality ends and you are returned to real life. You go back to being inside yourself, inside your own body, and back to your life situation. In my opinion, what makes this fixation/distraction have either a positive or negative effect on a person depends on how good a person perceives their life to be in reality.

    • @SkinomiCS2
      @SkinomiCS2  Před měsícem

      You are right, perception is a very vig part of it, both how others view you and you view things yourself. Long gone are the days where I was buillied in primary school for playing Pokemon on my DS, I think society (at leasf some parts of it) is trending in the right way.

    i started with nothing... got api scammed then started investing, was able to build my inventory by buying and selling / trading things at the right time and now I have skins I only could've dreamed of. It will make you feel happy but its not the cure to depression - like all material things. It is better to seek professional help if you feel these things.

    • @SkinomiCS2
      @SkinomiCS2  Před měsícem +2

      You've done well for yourself, congrats mate. You're right, it is not a cure for depression, I just wanted to point out investing and trading is a much better thing to do than gambling. Gambling is a sprialing mess.

    • @rarestbanana
      @rarestbanana Před měsícem

      What kind of items did you trade if you don’t mind me asking? I feel it was very easier back in the day to make profit since today everyone buys and sells.

    • @SaintNick420
      @SaintNick420 Před měsícem

      @@rarestbanana it was a bit of timing and luck too cause i was able to snipe items during the pandemic then sell them during market peak, then just bought cool playskins (knife glove combos) then trade 2 mid tier items for 1 higher tier item, rinse and repeat

    • @rarestbanana
      @rarestbanana Před měsícem

      @@SaintNick420 ahh ok I see what you mean, I did the same when Dreamhack and kato 15 stickers were taking off. I bought a bunch of low priced crafts that were 2-4x crafted and then sold them at their peaks for a nice high profit. It’s harder nowadays the hype is gone and truthfully not many people even realize certain items exists

    It's important to understand why you play games. If it is to escape real life, it's better to solve those issues than let them build up and turn into depression.

    I like to play but have been getting really pissed off when I dont do well. even if we win, if I didnt do well or my teammates kept yelling at me I get annoyed. I took a week break and when I came back I muted enemy team and hind all but friends pfp. its a lot more enjoyable now :D

    • @SkinomiCS2
      @SkinomiCS2  Před měsícem +1

      Yep, although communication in the game is also important. I tend to give my teammates a few rounds before hitting mute. A balance is important, but do what you enjoy, that will always be the most important.
