You are a remarkable man. You are such an inspiration as a human being and show such honor to your brother by literally changing the course of your life to honor your brother, Eric. I applaud you. ❤
So sorry that your brother was involved in such a terrible accident. Brain injuries are horrible. Your patients are privileged to have such a caring surgeon.
It takes a lot of courage to share this to us all about your beloved brother Eric. I know you're a real doctor because of this and a devoted neurosurgeon. God bless and thank you Dr. Hoeflinger! 🙏💝🇺🇸
I'm so very sorry about what happened to your brother, but it's amazing how one tragic event can change the trajectory of our lives and consequently have an impact on the lives of many others.
Wow thank you for sharing this. Bringing meaning tto pain and tragedy is what it’s all about. Thank you for making me feel understood and less alone. Please keep posting videos it gives so much support for me and many others
I always love to hear the stories behind the career. My brother also was in a car accident at 21 (1989) he was in a coma for three months, miraculously he woke up and walked and talked again- I was 13 at the time and it definitely shapped my future, I didn’t shoot as high as you though. 🤣 I became a CT tech and worked in the same hospital that my brother had been in. I also was lucky enough to work in the OR with my brother’s neurosurgeon when I was an XR tech. Such a special moment to be able to thank him as an adult and have him remember the case. That personal connection to you patients and their families, I’m sure makes you so compassionate to your patients and the family’s and brings great comfort Thanks for sharing your story. ❤️
You've had so much heartbreak in your life, it's a wonder you get into a car at all... It seems like you found your calling though. I hope you at least learnt to snorkel or scuba dive as the underwater World is so full of wonder too.
SO SORRY DOCTOR THIS MAKES ME SO SAD...I HAD 2 BRAIN SURGERIES AM DOING GREAT THANKS TO ALL NEUROSURGEON I LOVE U GUYS...AND ONCE AGAIN SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR BROTHER AM SO SAD ABOUT THAT🙏🏽
I can't believe the tragedy that you and your family have suffered. How you have managed to work, study and keep your family together without going crazy, well Doctor, you are beyond words. Bless you Sir.
You have an amazing life. I love to listen to you tell what you have experienced. My brother just died from a tick bite. My family just experienced life ending in the ICU after him trying to survive this. I want to let EVERYONE know how serious BABESIOSIS IS. If you get bit by this tiny tick insect be aware of what it can do. The alerts we have posted may have saved a couple people lives that we know already. Watch for flu like symptoms and sometimes no symptoms. God Bless ❤
I am so sorry your brother had this happen to him and of course you and your mother and father and family. It's amazing how life changes who we become sometimes. You are an amazing doctor. I have a similar story.
You made me think back uears ago when a friend was in a bad motorcycle accident, driving too fast, hit a pole and from what I heard he was on life support, but his wife said he was unrecognizable. This was a 20 something, very nice looking man who had a wife and 2 little girls that he adored. It was sad for all who knew him 😢
I’ve been watching ur videos & I admire the fact that u decided to a doctor period let alone the most difficult & very serious type of doctor/neurologist. My brother had an aneurism & the dr that operated on him I hate to say this but MAYBE could have done a better job per-say well my brother was left disabled thru memory loss he has short memory from the time get the surgery to date meaning anything before that he remembers like his high school years as a matter of fact he thought he was still in high school & wanted to get his stuff from his locker even though he had graduated 4 years ago, he learned how to walk again he does speak well all body movement is there we r grateful that he was able to function for himself he’s just very repetitive. Other friends have had this surgery but they came out just fine mentally.. I don’t know if it was due to financial status plays a part in it…
very sad to hear but I guess that is a pure motivation. You seem like a very nice guy and I guess therefore an even better neurosurgeon. Those neurosurgeons I knew are of very high professional standard, precise, nerdy and a bit weird (which I like) but all kind and humble if it comes to life.
I had the same situation I was going to be in marine biologist but my daughter decided to turn the wrong way and I ended up every year with one of my grandchild three of them so I decided to become a school teacher and drive to yellow bus and be an accountant so I can afford to take care of my three grandchildren I didn't want them in the foster care and they turned out to be good outstanding I'm sorry for your brother and your family God be with you and I have you in prayers
You are an honourable man. Much respect to you.
my dislexic ass read "honourable" as "horrible" 😂
