In Greece we use vinegar instead of lemon and I don't mean to say that the use of lemon breaks any rules written in stone (ha ha ha) but it's sooooo delicious with vinegar . Love and congratulations for your amazing work!!!!!!!

When my mom and I make it we use a whole cucumber and shred it and squeeze the juice out several times. We don't use dill or lemon juice but some people do... Thanks Natasha!!!

Have made this for years from an old recipe shared from Greece! It's a great sauce. I prefer the cucumber shredded and in his recipe red wine vinegar was used and the dill was optional.

Honestly never stopped to give a thought as to what makes that sauce white, but I'm surprised to learn it's yogurt cuz I despise yogurt but love the Tzatziki sauce!

This reminds me of a cold bulgarian soup, tarator. It's the same thing but Bulgarians put in water so the yogurt is more soupy like, there's red wine vinegar instead of lemon, a SHIT TON of garlic, also there's more than one cucumber/small bush of dill.

Yes, it is the sauce used on Greek gyros. So good on grilled chicken pita sandwiches with red onion and tomatoes, and great on lamb and beef too!
