Your videos are great! Keep making them and I'll keep adding stuff to my car 😂

Can you please tell me whether once the crossfires are installed, kayak racks can be mounted to them for kayak carrying. Thank you

Great video. Did you find some quality differences or adjustment/sealing between Toyota original cross bars vs Amazon ones ? Toyota original cost almost the double in my city Toyota provider.

I have not had my hands on Toyota OEM cross bars (for low profile rails). I imaging they are the same design and would rather save the money and go with Amazon options.

I’ve seen some people experience damage to the headliner from rain…hopefully no damage?

Yes. Good comment. This is a possibility not primary due to the crossbar but due to the seals on the rail to the RAV4. The crossbars can potentially accelerate the failure even with proper installation.

@@Rav4Gen5 I agree with Jeremy. The rectangular rubber seal didn't seem to cover the holes completely (gap visible at 5:54 ). More water ingress inside the roof bars, more possibility to get the problem reported with early Rav4's. This being said, the original plastic covers didn't seem to seal much either.

The cross bar will not fully cover the rectangular hole. Remember that it was a plastic cover previously without any seals. Waster is free to get in there with or without the cross bar install.

@@Rav4Gen5 I agree, but I would have liked to see an improvement with the cross bars, at least. Not the same problem. I don't like Toyota cover design, and I don't like this crossbar design either. But that's me.

Would this still work on a 2022+ RAV4 LE/XLE trim? I read he newer versions don't have cross bars mounts anymore.

I didn’t realize they changed it in 2022. Toyota cutting corners to save money. I check Toyota website and looks like the LE no longer has low profile rails. But XLE still has. You should also confirm.
