Thank you for the deep dive on this topic. Can you also do a video about bunions? I know they are different from gout, but it may be good to contrast these two conditions, and a good compendium piece to address the foot ailments. Thank you for your informative videos!

I've had gout since I was 17. I'm 45 now. I was diagnose with psoriatic arthritis about 8-10 yrs ago. I ended up having to get on social security disability because of it.
I started out taking both things you mentioned (allopurinol and colchicine).
For the last 5 yrs or so all that I take is Uloric (febuxostat). Prior to this I was having chronic gout/PA flares that would last up to 9 or 10 weeks. Very painful. Very debilitating. Since taking the uloric I don't remember the last time I had a flare up.
Just wanted to share my story. I enjoyed the video.
Headed to watch the shoulder vids now. I think I may have a frozen shoulder from RCuff surgery back in September...

My husband and my Dad suffered from gout. In both cases beer was the trigger. Beer has lots of purines and the alcohol inhibits the body to eliminate the purines.

I'm a woman and have been suffering of gout since my early 60s (70 now). I started some years ago to test what type of food made the problem worse. Coca cola and red meat (I used to be a pork and beef stew eater). So I stopped eaten them and voila! I'm a Coke addict since adolescence, so a few times in the summer I sin., and pay for it. But...I know what hurts me and so I avoid these food. That's it, people.

Great video. Very informative. My problem is that I enjoy eating spices and meat, but I'm not a fanatic and prob do not eat more than the next person. However given that there is an array of reasons that lead to gout, is there a way to test your body in order to find the root cause?

This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Exercise and Sun does NOT trigger gout attack. It actually reduces gout attack‌ đŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™‚ïž
