I know she's so toxic but she has a painful past. She even had a collage of pictures of skinny women making it as her goal during her teenage years. A bunch of girls in her class in middle school call her fat and ugly and even get signed a petition to kill herself.
Maybe that's why she's so obsessed with promoting curvy body etc. She might be bitter and problematic but I can relate to her.

You do know that many people are just naturally skinny, right? It doesn't necessarily mean they are starving themselves. It's doesn't necessarily mean they are unhealthy (there are a lot of things that goes into being healthy other than just your physique). They are what they are. Just because she was bullied for her body doesn't mean she has the right to shame other body types. It's not funny to mess around with others' pains and insecurities. If you're gonna preach body positivity then make it so everyone feels comfortable being what they are. Don't skinny shame thin girls to lift up bigger sizes. Don't body shame bigger ones to glorify skinny structures. No body type is superior than the others. There's no such things as "normal body". All bodies are normal. And If she's been through it, she should know better than anyone else how it is like when people trash talk about your bodies . Still, she's doing the same. But she actually made my issues worse, she was making excuses and using her mental illness as a crutch to start negativity. I thought since she was doing it that it was OK for me to do it, when I got diagnosed all I did was get worse and worse because I looked up to her so much. I started copying the way she saying and I started losing the skills that I had developed, she has the talent but not the skills. Now that I look back on it she’s been starting drama ever cents she was on Disney whenever she started that drama with Selena Taylor and Shorty and the Jonas Brothers., Singing not saying. All in all it seems like she does not want to get better, I didn’t want to get better either because I thought it was right for me to make excuses like she was. Now I realize that she’s not a very good role model, I’m going to look up to people who are positive not negative.

Demi Lovato was such an inspiration to me as a kid. I remember looking up to her so much! She was funny and the best singer during her reign on Disney! Periodt! Even when the cutting accusations came out, her story about hating her body, never feeling good enough, and feeling confused about herself and just trying to live happily...I was so young but it touched me because I felt alot of those things.

It so happens that I am skinny by genetics and I honestly don't have anything bad to say about other body types, but damn it kills me when other girls diss about the skinny calling us "bitches" etc. You should always respect a person no matter their weight and remember that even the "skinny bitches" may be very insecure about being thin when they just can't do much about it.
I do believe that there are adecvate body positivers, but tbh most of the time it's just hypocrites who only support their body type (based on my personal experience ofc), so I do try to stay away from this specific term..

As someone who’s had a brief encounter with Demi Lovato, I’ll honestly admit that she’s not the friendliest. My dad used to write for Conan O’Brien and she was getting interviewed one night so my me, my sister, and our neighbor went to go see her. We’d gone before and had met two other celebrities Carly Rae Jepsen, and Ellie Goulding who couldn’t have been nicer. Demi Lovato walked out for her interview in an angry manor and it was very obvious that she didn’t want to be there. When she returned my little sister and her friend who was also our neighbor enthusiastically ran towards her saying "OMG Demi!" She sarcastically told them "hi" and went back to her dressing room. She had the option of meeting us and giving us autographs she just didn’t want to unlike Carly Rae and Ellie. A woman that worked there told everyone she wasn’t a very warm person and I think that her daughters had met Kesha or something and she was just like Ellie and Carly Rae. I get that she’s dealt with a lot of problems in her life but that doesn’t give her any excuses to be rude and dismissive.
