When the list starts off with Sunsoft's Batman Stage 1 you know its good.
Yeah mate agree . When this started I was like they know what they doing 😊
Absolutely. Streets of Desolation is my all time favorite NES track!
Precisely my reaction.😊
Incredible how composer was able to put so much emotion in 8bit soundtrack
Amen.
I miss the 80's and 90's so much.
Good times 😀
A lot of these tracks are better than the games themselves :D

One the best
If there's one thing Japanese dev houses got right, it was hiring legitimate musicians who worked some damned sorcery with only four sound channels.
Bro the fact that this was competing with other consoles that came out by then. Nintendo technically didn’t have competition because THE SOUNDTRACKS WERE KILLER! I mean, what other video game company could compare to what Nintendo was putting out in the 80s?
Koji Kondo wrote the Legend of Zelda opening roll in one night.
ONE NIGHT.
(The game was originally set to use Maurice Ravel's Bolero but they miscalculated the expiration of the copyright and it turned out to be illegal to use...the day before the game was to be sent for publishing.)
I don’t think any other console has seen such a large leap in technologic advancement of games during it’s short lifespan. Just compare, say, Balloon Fight to Kirby’s Adventure. To someone unaware, you would think these are on completely different consoles. This just shows you how amazing the NES actually was. It definitely shows in the music as well.
They did not have many kb to work with =)
However, they learned to save KB in order to make worlds larger by oldschool data compression technology like reusing and mirroring pixel sets@@JalopEntertainment
Sunsoft low key had the most metal music of the NES era.
Big fan of the composition of this list. The box art, title screens, and release dates help bring me back to summer vacations.
Come on. It’s right there on the box.
BLASTER.
MASTER.

The Journey to Silius track hits way harder than it should. Never played that game before, but now I kind of want to, just because of this song.
It´s one of the best games for the NES.
It's a great game.
It was originally supposed to be based on The Terminator but Sunsoft lost the license halfway through. After changing up some of the artwork to de-Terminator it they released it as Journey to Silias. But the game was essentially designed from the ground up to basically be a Schwarzeneggar action movie. They had Hollywood on the brain when making it.
Love it! But nothing from Crystalis? I'm only disappointed by that.
Damn that level 1 batman theme is a certified banger

1:48:51 Is actually from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game. The graphic in the video is for the wrong game.
Yeah it isn’t the title theme either it is stage 1
MM3 Title Theme is one of my favorite NES themes
Great list! I Would’ve loved to hear rygar, ghost n goblins, faxanadu, Castlevania 3, star tropics, FF and the grandfather of all game music, dragon warrior. No list is complete without Koichi Sugiyama imo.
"The Only NES Playlist you´ll ever need" might be just right. This is filled with all the absolute bangers!
holy crap dream master came on and it legit gave me goosebumps.
haven't heard that soundtrack since I was a child.
Journey to Silius is a masterpiece I never heard before
Omg same not only have I never heard it... I've never heard anyone get such amazing bass and drums out of the NES!
same here! i need play it soon :3 @@amanloomba3156
it was called Raf World in Japan and featured a different main character design. Originally was a Terminator game but the license fell through. It's as fun as the music is good! Definitely play it if you haven't.
Sunsoft designed their own sound chip instead of using the common style and it gave all their games such amazing music. That bass is stunning!!
Great playlist Allthough i miss here duck Tales 2, megaman 4, chip n dale 2, adventure Island tracks.
And Final Fantasy

The TMNT theme song is incorrectly listed at approximately 1:48:00. The track being played is from the 2nd game TMNT 2 The Arcade Game, the first level of the burning apartment building where April gets captured. Such good memories of these games growing up!!! I love this list!!!
How did you guys get such clear, defined, crisp sound? Others out there are definitely not this good. Love it.
That Batman drum beat… ❤
Sunsoft was on another level.
So many hours of fun with this playing in the backgrounds!
Truly the best one stop for classic, timeless NES tunes! You've done it, my friend, well done! This title is not click bait at all!
Thank you. It took some time to find the best tracks =)
Sunsoft kings of 8 bit music :3
100%
Loving this! - Didn't know about the Silver Surfer banger. The rest I know about so far. Thanks for putting it together.
Know what else is the banger?
The boss team that should be the theme song.
It hit me like a truck. Right in the childhood!
Nostalgia 😀
Batman soundtrack CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED
I remember reading years ago how Sunsoft was able to get such unique sound from the NES. I wish I could find it now, as it was a great read. Kudos to whomever it was back in the day from Sunsoft, fantastic stuff for a very technically limited console.
Every company had their own distinct sound. That was something I noticed quite early as a kid. Myself, I'm a sucker for the early 1983-1987 Hip Tanaka style Nintendo sound. (like Balloon Fight, Wrecking Crew, Gyromite, Metroid, Kid Icarus...) Ultimate nostalgia.
Seriously those Sunsoft games! The Gremlins 2 and Silius tracks sound 16-bit! How did they do it? Unfortunately never played those games growing up
@imtiazather6977 , I read about it years ago. They had some programming trick to allow them to use different sounds than the typical beeps and boops we were all accustomed to from the NES. If I find time, I'll see if I can find that source again.
They discovered the secret of creating percussion sounds.
In the garage jamming out to history and working out for the b day ! Good times thanks for the memories bro
They made some good tunes back in the days 😀
Unreal compilation. TMNT Overworld 1 is an all time great (4:55:16)
Thats a good one 😀
3:44:48 Zelda 2: Palace Theme.
The only reason I'm here and needed to share such a banger.
Good one 😀
9:25 ohhhhh, this theme slaps!
That list is way better than I imagined it to be and I can listen to it for hours. Thank you so much! Only thing I miss is a song or two from Battle of Olympus, that would really fit in nicely.
2:17:38 Is the best for me.
Yeah Journey to Silius, what a soundtrack
Master Blastune reminds me of Skate or Die when you are skating through town picking which entrance to go into
I'm a 1992 born dude and I played a lot of those games thanks to my older brother. It's so nice to listen to these Songs, feeling those moments years ago.
My favorites are Castlevania & Kid Icarus
Oh yeah I forgot! Super Mario Bros 3 of course 👻
thanks for this video
Naoki Kodaka and team were on a whole nother level for sound composition. They blessed Sunsoft with so many savage soundtracks it's crazy.
I'm hearing elements in the Wolverine section I've never heard before. Your sound quality is top notch.
Maniac mansion has an unforgettable soundtrack
Oh the nostalgia, thanks for this amazing upload. Will listen to this many many times!
The boys at Sunsoft were cranking out some bangers.
I'm glad you included Gun.Smoke on this list. Love that game!
Really good one 😀
No Final Fantasy representation :(
FF fanboy here. Music didn't get great till the SNES. Can't blame the creator for that.
Go listen to their SNES top 150 tracks. It’s 9 hours of 95% RPG tracks
Special mention for Life Force: it competed with the greatest heavy metal albums of that age. Without knowing.
Surprised Rygar didn't make it on the list. But great mix!
This is a time travel machine. Loved!
Bro you are the GOAT, thanks for this amazing recop. Great work.
Legacy of the Wizard didn't make it or the theme to 8 eyes. That's a testament to how much good music was on the NES.
And never knew how much i would love to hear Journey to Silius.
148-150
6th Hour
5:02:36 - The Guardian Legend
5:04:12 - The Adventure of Link; "Boss Battle"
5:04:40 - Mother
5:07:40 - End of Video, Sub Screen
Goddamn amazing work!
My only critique: the last song really should have been the SMB2 victory/ending theme. There was always something sad about it that always teared me up a little, which would have made it the ultimate topper for all off us old nerds mourning for the best days of our childhoods playing Nintendo...
Thats a good one. Like the ending of Super Mario Land 😀
WOW! What a well done collection! I am listening to this while working and bopping along to a lot of old favourites and some I've never heard before. Every once in a while I tab back and can see the box art for songs I don't recognise. Love this so much!
Thank you 😀
don't know if this was noted but 1:48:51 TMNT - Title Theme, this is actually the first stage of TMNT2 the arcade game, and not from the first game. Love this OST mix, keep it coming!
Who knew Gremlins has such banger music!?
I cannot believe that I am three hours deep, listening to NES music go figure
Great playlist! Thank you for putting this together. The curated listening order sure beats the ranked list that lots of other channels use.

My favorite too
Great list. This is the background music I need (and now use) when working at my desk. Great screen layout too, love the release dates and such.
Thank you, great to hear.
Great list, but Magnet Man from Mega Man 3 needs to be on here. One of the greatest NES tracks of all time!
No Rygar track05 for shame, otherwise great list!
Megaman 4 Cossacks level 2 can hold up to batman
i really wanted to compose like these ,so nostalgic to listen
Awesome mix! This needs to be a playlist!
12:07 the opening stage of Contra Force is classic Konami BGM 😎
Wonderful selection
Check out the themes of Astynax(my personal favorite), Street fighter 2010, isolated warrior
bloody tears is bloody low on this list
WOW, never played batman, but wow that NES tune blows me away. sheww
The best one for the NES 😀
I think your chapters aren't working because you have to start them at 0:00:00 and you have two spaces between the zero chapter number and title. Also, you wrote Master Blaster instead of Blaster Master.
Thank you. Will fix that. I copyed it from the comments.
3:26:24 I had read that Rock-Man was called that simply because it had rock music... I never knew Elecman stage was just 8-Bit Faithfully from Journey LOL
Absolutely Awesome 👌
Laughs! How many memories of my childhood. It means that I'm old, older than I'd wish = )
Bro thank you i actually wanna bust out some of these old games on my switch because of this! And this is coming from someone not even half as old as these games 😭🙏
150 deserves to be way up higher in that list
One heck of a list
Man, you're missing out. Where's Tim Follin's pictionary, solstice, treasure master... his composition are the best ever
megaman 4-skullman theme
tengen tetris
legend of kage
kabuki quantum fighter
1:48:51 Is actually from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game. The graphic in the video is for the wrong game.
Great video and song selection though! No complaints here.
one amazingly good list!
1:27:43 Batman.
Godzilla and Werewolf have my two favorite themes on the NES.
A lot of good entries. River City Ransom is missing entirely, which makes me sad. BUT, a lot of Sunsoft's solid music so... fair trade I guess. 😂
=)
Wow opened with my absolute favorite as number 1!!!
Mine too! Batman is a classic, the whole OST just bangs.
@@alexanderkulaev541 Made me play the game more just to hear it. I've been using it as background music for my reviews of some old 90's Batman toys here.
@@MBXfilms I sometimes just hear the music of this game in my mind, you know, for no reason. That was one of my favorite games in my childhood. And it inspired me to draw the Batman-like levels in my notebook, so I kinda came to game dev because of it :) Interesting that I returned to game dev for real just last year when started learning voxel art and me with my girlfriend plan out our first game, this time not in the notebook but in Unity! :)

@@MBXfilms Totally agree!
Gremlins 2 must have the best sounding music I've ever heard in a nes game. The composition is great, but that goes for many games. But Gremlins really sounds like it's a different sound chip. I'm a bit curious what tricks they might have used.
Very nice. But so many tracks and my favorite isn't even in it.. Where is Solstice ?! It's so epic! Also pictionary would be a nice touch.
Nevertheless... Awesome list with awesome music!
Well, this video sure starts off with a banger..
This is a really good playlist
Track 1 is all I need, honestly.
Incredible NES Playlist! Thank you so much for creating it and many others like it on your channel.
Also at 01:43:27 in your track list you have it labeled as race but I believe it's rage.
Thank you. We fixed it 😀
@@JalopEntertainment anytime! 😄
good list...Missing Castlevania III Clock Tower stage, Pipe Dream, Final Fantasy tunes...
Great list, but nothing from Castlevania 3? It has some of the best tracks on the system
Ending with one of the best 8 but tunes of all time
I can't believe they are right. Awesome list. Some cool songs are missing though.
Blaster Master has a very nice Soundtrack
This is the best playlist for my everyday sleep lol
Thank you for the kind comment =)
Don't forget to loop it. Or download it. 😁
