With one song ABBA puts today’s music to shame. ABBA has always made music that is pleasant, melodic, poetic, and meaningful. Today’s music is vapid, meaningless, and copycat, with only rare exceptions. I became an ABBA fan in the 1970s and have missed them for these 40 years. I hope there is much more to come. There IS an audience out there and just maybe a new generation of fans-to-be who may understand what we did oh so long ago.

I can't agree more with everything you say. I have been a fan since the late 70s. I am not optimistic about the new generations.

ABBA really is the best and I am happy to report we are catching on and there is a new audience out there! According to Spotify most of ABBA listeners in their platform are between 18-24!! I just live for ABBA music!! Sadly I didn’t get to experience them in the 70s because well I am only 18 but I have been a fan of them for most of my life and I just love this comeback. I hope more of my generation can appreciate how monumental it is! I still cant believe I will get to say “I remember when those songs came out, it was back in 2021 and it was epic!”, I am really ecstatic to be living in this new ABBA era and I sincerely hope it lasts more than 1 album.

I am 100 per cent sure that this will storm to the top of the charts (I'm assuming it's the new single) and the album also. Is there anything that will be able to compete on a musical or emotional level.

As I sat and played my ABBA vinyls' and awaited each new album with anticipation. I remember being so disappointed that the Top 40 didn't acknowledge their unique and awesome sound at the time. Like an artists' work that becomes valuable after they've passed, NOW everyone recognizes their ONE OF A KIND quality that no one can replicate. Who, I ask 40 years later who could accomplish this but the AB FAB ABBA! The greatest part is they reunited and I get the opportunity to relive and experience my love for them, their music and LEGACY! ABBA FOREVER!

They still have it and there is also the added depth that comes from 40 years of lived experience, which is present everywhere; it's a darker, yet still hopeful atmosphere - much needed during the angst of 2021. I greeted ABBA (from Australia) in the 1970s the first time round and my country always celebrated their greatness (think Muriel's Wedding and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert). This album can be heard on many levels. It is beautiful, fresh music but it also tells the autobiographical narrative of the group over the last 40 years. What a priceless gift. I don't think it's a case of "letting the older generation have its acknowledgement". I'm sure that this will appeal to the younger generation just as directly it appealed to us at the same age. The texts are thoughtful and beautiful, while the arrangements and melodies are the products of fine (and experienced) musical minds. Bravo! Timeless music for all generations!

The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop group ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came") and the edition of his new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack") and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors")
Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid
    "Don't shut me down"
    it's another surprise from ABBA
A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work
The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice.
Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us.
and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA
But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma Mía"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits
And it ends with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (nod to "Thank you for the music")
    Thank for your reaction
and for Your respect to ABBA music
now wey waiting for the new album
and see in next ABBA vídeo
    GOD bless You

First of all, nobody has died, thank God. Secondly NO ONE can compete with them in creating their fabulous songs and amazing sound. It worked in the 70’s and 80’s, it works now and it will work in 2050. It’s not 80’s - their sound is timeless. Benny composes teeny symphonies with just about every song and his arrangements are that of a classical composer. They are more than just a watered-down “pleasant.”
Bjorn is one of the most brilliant lyricists who ever lived and there is personal meaning in just about every song they sing, and after 40 years, especially in this one. Yes, you do need to know more about their backgrounds and realize how personal their sound is. There is no other music group like ABBA - and there will never be. They are above and beyond any group including the Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Kiss. Their appeal spans generations, because their songs are catchy, but when you look into them, they are extremely complicated. ABBA could teach much to just about every darned musician in the last 25 years, at least.

I have seen enough reactions to ABBA's new song to realize that there is a generation or two who either heard their parents listening to them ,or remember it from their own younger years. Have not seen where one of them didn't enjoy and like this song. Interesting to say, many stated that music of this calaber is not done by current groups and some have gone so far to say there is more talent and ability in past music than you see now because of todays enhanced voice tech.

I appreciate all your comments about ABBA but the song I wouldn't say has an '80s, but more '70s feel to it Actually Benny said it in an interview because he got the inspiration for it from this western that he was watching and they were playing an old '70s song in it and he wanted to make a song with that sound in it
