Excellent presentation and thank you for the Haynes manual reference. I've owned a '72 B GT for 9 months and am slowly working my way through a maintenance schedule. Yet to check tappets and this is a great resource. Many thanks!

Thanks for the kind words! I'll try to get some more maintenance stuff up.
I just give a tug on the fan belt and stop when the valve i am watching is fully down. Quick and easy. Set mine to 13 cold, at 15 cold I find they still clatter a bit. Oh and they will slowly change a bit with use ! It can drive you mad but then you have to be a bit mad to run one of these.
Fantastic video!!
Outstanding video and presentation.
Thanks!
Great video!
There is an easier way used at Official BMC (MG) dealerships ( and professional Brit car mechanics) in the 60s-70s.
Rotate engine only twice and adjust all 8.
Cool...with the rubber bumper cars it's so easy to put a socket on the crank bolt and turn it. I remember my 73 was not as easy though!
How about the 4cyl engine
Hi - this is the 4 cylinder 1800 cc standard B engine! There are two valves per cylinder.
