- I hope you enjoyed being taken along with me on my last day of work as a corporate employee. It was emotional, and is still very strange to me. It's going to take some time to get used to this! It was an emotional day, one I will never forget for the rest of my life. So happy you're joining me on this journey as I transition into writing full-time and living my dream!

I built a boat, by myself, and it took years. All the time, I told everyone, everyone knew, on day, I would sail away. There is no adequate preparation for that day, when you cast the lines off, and sail away. You see, it's just not real, until the moment when you do it. THEN you feel it. Then you pass through the looking glass into the other world. Then it is real. All the other this and that is background noise. Stepping from one world to another. I sailed away. You quit your job. Same thing. It's a whole new world.

Sorry I didn't get the time to watch this sooner. I know what you mean about the age thing though. I didn't START writing my first novel until I was about 35 and now I just turned 42. But what you said is true. If you have to compete... compete with yourself... that way you are always the winner. Looking forward to more Courtney awesomeness :)

My friend and I had the same last day of work at our old job (terrible office environment - he was leaving with no next step, but shortly after he moved to a new country and is loving it, I was leaving a month earlier than planned to have my son and make a career change). We literally moonwalked out together. I’ll never forget it. 🥳🥰 😂 Here’s to your new life! 🥳🤩🍀💐🎊

I've been writing for ten years, and I am still waiting. I have published several books but not done thirty books. I have done about half that XD I have only just started seeing a little more than $20. It takes me ages to write one book though. But I am hoping this year, I will make real money.

Kent Shawn i lived that life for a long time. :) My hubby is an artist so I was pretty much the sole provider too. With preparation, it’s doable! ❤️ Just keep moving forward. There’s no shame in doing what’s best for your family!

There is nothing wrong with you, it’s just you’re on a different path. After ten years of pushing, it happened for me, but even if it had taken 15 or 20 years, I would’ve kept on because it’s fun. ❤️ Sometimes it’s as simple as saying yes to a side project…that’s what happened with Kennedy Fox.

Ok so I'm late watching this. How exciting! I cried with you because I'm a dork. I do that. I know that when I leave here It'll be in tears also. I am a pediatric home care nurse. I've been with this little guy since he was five and he is sixteen. I adore him and his whole family, but my goals are to make enough money for hubby and I to move abroad. We're looking at Portugal. This really excites me! So happy for you, even though I'm almost a year late... haha. Good on ya!!

Oh you made me cry. I walked away from my 18 year job and moved out of state just recently. The emotions are overwhelming still and it has been 4 months. I have floundered in these 4 months with my writing and health. It hasn't fully hit me that I am living my dream. And I just wasted 4 months of it. The past few days I have had the reality of it hit me. I felt like I have been on vacation. Thanks for sharing with us.

I’m so happy for you!! And so, so, so proud!! Yay for setting a goal and accomplishing it! And yeah, it’s an adjustment not having a set schedule because of working. I think you should have a schedule but it’s okay if it moves. Like if one night you end up writing until 4 or 5 am, then your schedule just shifts for that day. I’ve struggled with that a little and I’m trying to go with the flow since I don’t have a set schedule and can work and write when I want to. Again, so happy for you!!!🎉🥳🎉🥳
