Is Valleyfair ACTUALLY Getting A B&M?

- Rumors rumors rumors. Valleyfair has been said to get a B&M any day now for the past 20 years! But with recent rumors it looks like Valleyfair is at least considering a new coaster for the future. What kind of B&M? And where did the rumors begin in the first place? Answers to these questions are in this video! Enjoy!

I’m a Minnesotan as well! I truly hope that Valleyfair will get a new ride. My only criticism of Valleyfair is that they don’t have enough rides and it’s been over a decade. It’s long overdue.
Your videos have gotten so much better over time dude! You are doing us Minnesota enthusiasts proud! Keep up this amazing content!
There better be a batwing, a cobra roll or something right near the front entrance to add to the amazing first impression of Valleyfair with Wild Thing and Steel Venom. The skyline would look even more amazing!
Speaking of rumors, nearby MOA got plans approved and now has funding for a massive $250M indoor waterpark which will be attached to the north side of the mall, and will supposedly open by 2024. I think CF knows what's coming and is gonna try to 'ride the wave' of new tourists with this new coaster, whatever it is. It would be a smart move considering soak city would be too small to compete, and with the new coaster, people would be more inclined to do both parks while in town.
Trust me, Micah already knew 😉
Let's not forget the possibility of the Worlds Fair in 2027 as well!!
B&M INVERT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR VALLEY FAIR! Also I became a enthusiast at the same time you did and valley fair and moa are my home parks
i was in the park last weekend man. tryed to message you to meet up.. but i have couple things to say.. 1st being CF did build two coasters in a row.. Wof got partriot in 07 and then prowler 2 years later... when we got Renegade in 07 and nothing 2 years after... so yes it is possible.. 2ndly you are right.. Patriot Was ours. That was our layout.. EVerything was a go. But the weekend before they announced i was in the park. and saw dick was their. and was over buy renegade pointing ...with all mangers /gms and talking.. they wanted a more "family attraction" so we swapped.. We got the GCI wof got the Invert.. and still 2 years after.. they got the GCI.. and us no invert........so yes this has been rumoring now for 20 plus years now.. because.. it was what we need.. what people want.. and we ALMOST had it...and thats why its still rumoring now after all these years.... which brings me up to my next thing.. yes inverts.. can be expensive. which your right. BUT WE dont need a NEW gen like banshee. and personally i dont WANT a new gen.. i want OLD school invert.. compact. short. .packs a punch.. something like 130 ft or under.. like 4 to 5 inversions.. something like afterburn./ talon mixed together. and had baby... WE can easily afford something like that.. and it WILL kill at VF.. it will put us back on the map.. i will included this concept someone made .. in the rumor spot its suppose to be.. and its FIRE BRO!!! 1000%% fr you need to check it out.. i was blown away!!! i was like YESSSS .. THIS right here...!!!! which brings me up to my next thing.. while i was their last weekend and on wildthing.. i did see what looked like construction .. in the rumor plot of land.. the dinos.. i saw a bulldozer .. excavating land.. soo idk if we should call it a good thing.. or use with grain a salt.... in audition idk if you remember while back at the Q4 meetings.. they said.. and i quote " their going to start investing into the smaller parks"" so what ever it may be.. all i know is WE need to do something like now... its coming up to be almost 20 years.. with out a new coaster. and im sorry.. thats simple business management .. 101. you CANT go that long with out building something new.. to make money you must invest.. best line ever" if you build it .. people will come"" and we will.... trust me if the gave us the invert not only will it be paid off buy the following you.. we will make so much profit from attendance.. they will see .and give us another attraction the following year. but something needs to happen FAST.. and like now!!! or else everyone going to those 3 other surrounding parks that added new attractions this year.. and their going to see that.. and be like oh crap.. we should had built a coaster...so i hope we see some markings soon.. or something.. oh and if that doesnt i also have some other info that might help.. but im not trying to jinx it :P :P but anyways love your channel bro.. glad to find another midwest coaster enthusiast like me.. even though im the OG!! :) : ) keep up the amazing work bro!!! you rock :) : ): )
And the reason the smaller parks don’t get as much as Attendance is because Cedar fair doesn’t invest
Exactly, valleyfair is located in the Minneapolis-st Paul metropolitan area. Which is the 2nd biggest metro in the Midwest. Only Chicago is bigger. (Maybe Detroit though)
I think it should also be mentioned that Valleyfair also has a 300ft height limit. When they got the power tower back in 1999-2000, it was originally suppose to be 315ft tall. However the nearby airport objected to this and they had to shorten it. Also Vallyfair is right next the Minnesota river which often floods more then once every year. No matter what coaster they get, it has to be one that withstand floodwaters.
Seems absurd that Flying Cloud Airport would object to that when their facilities, control tower & runway are at the top of the bluff, hundreds of feet higher, surely 15 feet wouldn't make a difference?
@@nratkin It is completely is stupid, but its the truth. even the FAA got involved. Even though the airport is in a safe location, my best guess is that they were afraid that during stormy weather/foggy conditions a plane would crash into ride higher than 300ft.
This limit was 275' the height of power tower. It was supposed to be 300' The height limit has now been raised to I think 330'.
He actually showed a different part of his house for once! 😀
Any of these coasters would definitely be a Godsend. Valleyfair needs it so, so bad.
Nice editing!
Them getting a B&M would be the best thing ever, they need it and the park has potential with some work
America really needs more B&M Inverts
I Indeed Do Like B&M Inverts But I Think There
Trying To Make Better Coasters Especially The
Surf Coaster
They will announce the new coaster in August, when they will also announce the closure of Excalibur for last rides as well. I think it will be a Dive coaster. If Valleyfair gets a new inverted with the closure of Steel Venom (only with the closure of Steel Venom) it will be the new Generation Vekoma STC.
Vekoma or.... a chance hyper gtx. And has to be vest if it'd an slc. No headbanging.... I rode at elich g.....ugh but heard new trains like lost island will be better.... btw weekend after next we go on a 4 park tour, adventureland, kings island, Indiana beach and lost island
Excalibur and Steel Venom have received a ton of money lately improving the ride systems. The park has a ton of space for new coasters, you could build 5 new coasters if you wanted to. The stadium isn’t used anymore I believe due to ADA guidelines (Disability Accessible). They have the old looping starship spot, and a ton of Dino’s Alive land
I think that a Dive Coaster like Emperor would be a perfect fit for Valleyfair, Valleyfair is my personal home park and I love it but it is overdue for a new ride, I also visited Sea World San Diego a couple weeks ago and went on Emperor and it was a great ride, I loved the drop and the overall ride was very smooth. I really hope Valleyfair adds a new coaster to their lineup in the next few years because they need and deserve it.
Nice video and hopefully Valleyfair gets something pretty soon.
If the Valleyfair B&M rumors are true I think they actually end up getting a small-scale B&M Wing.
We sometimes see chain coaster projects get moved from the intended park to another and I could see that leaked B&M wing for Kings Dominion getting repurposed and becoming the next coaster for Valleyfair.
Holiday World has a smaller *launched* wing coaster in Thunderbird, which would be an excellent inspiration for Valleyfair to follow.
Either an invert or a dive would be great.
I doubt we’d get a big dive, but something taller than Wild Thing would be pretty cool.
Heck yeah!
The airport limits how tall things can be
Also at valleyfair they are clearing out a spot that looks like it could fit a roller coaster
I’m going to love this video!!!!!!
Valleyfair needs a new rollercoaster!! The last one they built was Renegade which was 2007! Time for a new one.
I think they should do an RMC I Box conversion of Excalibur.
That invert pic looks beautiful
Great content
I'm more on the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp, but if it where to happen that they got the B&M coaster, that it'll be a wing or (the one I'd prefer) flying coaster models because they already have an invert (cough, Steel Venom, cough) and Nickelodeon Universe has Rock Bottom Plunge (a coaster with a beyond 90° drop) which would make it kinda redundant for them to build a coaster with a 90° drop.
I think it'd be amazing if they built a roller coaster that was themed to Prince. It'd be a slam-dunk of an idea for a Minnesota park. Purple track, Prince songs on the loudspeakers (either at the station or in the back of the cars), station building themed to First Avenue. You'd have to cut a deal with the estate, obviously, but in my dreams this is the direction they go with.
Another thing I just thought of: first B&M invert? Batman: the Ride. Who did the soundtrack for Batman '89? That's right.
I agree with the Prince theme
Ok here’s what I think
Wing: I hope they don’t get ride of the entrance I really like it. A smaller wing either over the entrance or somewhere else would work.
Invert: the best and most likely option I think a raptor sized invert would work nicely.
Dive: the least likely of the 3. A smaller dive like de diabolical or emperor would work but I think an inversion machine would work better not a coaster with 2-3 inversions
ABSOLUTE GIGACHAD IN THE THUMBNAIL
Assuming the water park and floodberm/access road expansions are put on hold for now,
the best I would like for Valleyfair is a new Invert in the former Dinos Alive area - and two new coasters to replace two current coasters.
The first replacement would be a small/medium Dive Machine to replace the aging Arrow Corkscrew - It can have a splashdown in the center pond like Krake at Heide Park.
The second would replace Steel Venom (Very likely since the famous Wicked Twister is gone, and CF hates Intamin now) with a Premier Rides Skyrocket model.
Between those three, they could squeeze in a fourth or even fifth tiny coaster. This could be a kiddy/family coaster or an S&S Free Spin or El Loco, but my money is on an RMC Raptor. Conveniently, Railblazer has to be moved now that California's Great America is being shut down...
This is great news
I was personally wondering about coaster placement within the park, in order to minimize impact of potential flooding because Valleyfair is located right next to the Minnesota River.
If we get the invert. I don’t think it would be in flooding trouble because the supports keep the track higher up as opposed to other coasters
I truly don't understand why we cant get a rmc raptor.
A waterpark in Sioux Falls, SD is looking at adding one, so it wouldn't be smart for VF to also build one 4 hours away.
@@brennanziegler9376 I don’t see the average person going that far out of the way though. I think anybody would go to VF over Sioux Falls
They have a great chance now with a relocated coaster from CGA.... hate to see a relocate but it could happen now.
Nix that looks like VF got the shaft again. 0 Respect for this wonderful park from cedar fair.
Update via Screamscape: Valleyfair just posted a video on TikTok claiming they've got the ok to clear the Dino's land for a new coaster.
Could this be our year!? (...Please?)
I have a question for you I have never been on a rollercoaster and I'm going to valley fair in the next month and my first coaster is corkscrew is there any advice you can give???
The very front row of Corkscrew is the best because you get more leg room. Corkscrew can be bumpy especially with the over the shoulder harnesses. Ride defensively keeping your head above or in front of the over the shoulder harnesses
Thank you for your advice I'm looking forward to the thrill for the first time in my life
FOrtunatly Corkscrew at VF is one of the better Corkscrew models out there. Very smooth for the model. Still bumpy but not close to bad as others. Good first coaster!
I went to valleyfair and was talking to a worker he said the park can do better than wild thing and renegade and said that the park needs something to keep people going to the park and get new people come too the park
NSC you should do a review on Renegade,Steel Vengeance, or boomerang (jk on the last one) you should also do a if I owed Cader Point, and Caro Winds.
Monster at Gronalund is the most recent B&M Invert, not Banshee. Also, Dr Diabolical at Six Flags Fiesta Texas is the most recent B&M Dive, not Emperor. That said, im pulling for a custom B&M Invert at Valleyfair. Remove Steel Venom, and replace the park’s invert with a cool new B&M invert like Monster.
For the invert I was referring to the most recent in the Cedar Fair chain, and I chose emperor because it didn’t have a mid course brake run. A custom invert would be nice! Hopefully they get one soon!
Honestly I think Cedar Fair Will focus on your smaller parks for about 5 to 7 years and then forget the exist for the next 15 years
I personally would prefer one of Vekoma's new generation of large scale coasters. Valleyfair could get a much larger coaster with theming for a much smaller price tag then any B&M. Plus, it's different! There are very few really good Vekoma's in the U.S. Two other things to consider. First, the height restrictions for Valleyfair have been raised to over 300 feet now. Second, they can build coaster footers in a flood plain. They can't build a station there but they can extend track over areas that flood. So, with that in mind there is a ton of land that they could build a new coaster on. Just sayin
What is the height restriction now?
@@1BillionMarbles I believe it's 330'
@@williammanthey6763 where did you find that out?
@@1BillionMarbles The height restrictions I'm not sure. I remember reading it somewhere about 6 months ago.
As far as footers, the former GM told me himself. I had the opportunity to tour the park with him twice and he told me a lot of interesting things. Of course he couldn't tell me anything specific.
North Star - VF's Funtime Starflyer - is a very recent example of CF bucking their manufacturer trends.
CF has invested heavily in Mondial Windseekers to very mixed results, so for VF they switched to Funtime's model - which is used heavily by the Six Flags parks.
In the end, VF got a ride that is *much* cheaper, and arguably better, than the Windseekers.
So there is precedence in CF using VF to test alternate manufacturers.
It *is* possible we could get a Vekoma STC instead. It would be a perfect fit, too.
I want vally fair to have a dorney talon layout
If renagade was older It would be insane if they RMCed
Why RMC Renegade when you can RMC Excalibur instead?
Maybe give it like a decade
But Excalibur is a steel coaster
@@stormy7244 Excalibur is a hybrid, just like most RMC coasters are. Steel track on a wooden structure, there is no reason it'd be any more difficult than a wooden coaster with wooden track.
oh god please no.... Renegade although showing its age is a world class GCI coaster and a TOP 3 GCI right now. Please leave it alone do some retracj if needed but dont mess with htat thing its awesome how it is.
An Invert would be cool
Not a chance in hell for VF to get any coaster much less a B&M invert. CGA's inverted coaster is probably going to KD for the 24 or 25 season but it's definitely not going to VF that's for sure.
I wouldn't be suprised if CF closes down VF to save money as they don't invest in this particular park and due to the frigid northern climate of Minnesota the park has a rather short operating season when compared to the other parks in the chain.
You make some good points, but I don’t think CF would sell off or close VF, this park does make a profit and it’s one of the the chains founding parks. If CF wanted to give VF a new coaster they would have done so a long time ago had they not purchased the Paramount Parks in 2007. When CF bought the Paramount Parks those needed the most attention for sure, but now that CF has built up those parks I think they may start investing in their original properties more. Worlds of Fun is getting a new coaster and they have a very similar attendance record with VF. Not to mention that CF was considering selling Worlds of Fun before Covid. Since Worlds of Fun is finally getting investments, I think VF and Dorney are next
Its a hard Cedar Fair park to even get to. For me, its a 12 hour drive. Just looking at the lineup though, a new invert would be wonderful. I just can't see Cedar Fair catering to the enthusiast here though. Again, such an out of the way drive for most. I see the small dive as most likely if anything from B&M.
It’s 6 hours from Six Flags Great America. 3 from Lost Island and 8 From Worlds of Fun. 4 hours from Wisconsin Dells as well. I disagree
@@MndJ75 Very fair point, However, SFGA is really the big attraction out of those parks. I wouldn't make that trip before doing an east coast roadtrip, Or starting at Cedar Point and making your way down south thru KI, KK, Dollywood, and Carowinds.
The only b &m they are getting is a bowel movement lol..
I seriously wish though
Ok the possibility is slim but hearing great america news... they could get a coaster... cedar point is getting a mad mouse from great america.....
Do people really think Renegade is the best? We rode it first last weekend and it set in mild headaches that lingered for the rest of the day. We thought it was quite terrible. Too rough! Thankfully it didn't ruin the day we just said, well there's one ride we won't have to wait in line for again, labeled it a 'one 'n done' and went about our day.
If it’s the best or not depends on what you prefer. Roller Coaster Enthusiasts such as myself generally prefer Renegade for its intensity, airtime, and pacing. Where as Wild Thing may be taller and faster, but doesn’t offer any intense forces, earning the nickname “Mild Thing” among some Valleyfair fanboys. A person may prefer rides like Wild Thing because it’s smoother in comparison to Renegade and may offer enough thrill. I will agree Renegade is rough, it especially needs retracking on the bottom of the first drop
@@northstarcoasters Maybe it's because I'm old(er) now. 🤣 I like Wild Thing quite a bit. I do wish they'd let it run untrimmed though. Let is be wild!
I'm having a huge surgery later this year (giving my mom a kidney) so it may be a bit before I get to ride anything big depending how I adapt and recover. I want to ride something completely outstanding before I do that. Any recommendations? Anywhere in the USA. Smooth like Wild Thing but bigger bigger and faster.
@@Kyle7K I recommend Millennium Force at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. It’s 310 feet tall (about 100 feet taller than Wild Thing) and has a top speed of 93 MPH! Best of all, it’s buttery smooth. But I also recommend Orion at Kings Island in Mason Ohio, haven’t been on it myself but it looks great! And I hope you’ll recover well and fast from that kidney surgery. I only have one kidney myself so I think giving one up is really admirable of you!
@@northstarcoasters Thank you. That's a perfect recommendation. Never heard of these rides before, I'm just starting to really explore rollercoasters beyond whats within a 2 hour drive of home. I have something else I want to do in Ohio before we do this surgery!
California great America is getting sold I think either flight deck or patriot is going to valley fair but probably flight deck. I hope they get railblazer but I wouldn’t be surprised if railblazer goes to cp to replace wt or maybe Michigan’s adventer
We saw CF officials there a lot last season.
Oh
Valleyfair has a height restriction due to the nearby Minneapolis airport
So? They aren’t trying to build a 300 giga.
#KeepExcalibur
4:13 you've been kidnapped
Cedar fair just announced their Capital Expenditure for 2023. Valleyfair is not even mentioned. they are getting absolutely nothing. Cedar fair just needs to close & sell off Valleyfair instead of California's Great America. at least that park was mentioned in the report! they are not committed to Valleyfair at all!
I’ve heard that Valleyfair is profitable as of right now. The main reason why we haven’t received anything the last few years is because of cedar fair not investing and Covid. I don’t think they would sell the park because it’s profitable and it’s was one of the companies founding members
