On the J. Rieger's: They are local to me, in KC. Have not tried Private Stock yet, but have tried the regular bourbon, BiB, and Monogram. The bourbon and BiB are decent. All seem to have very noticeable leather tannins, but the Monogram was like leather overload. I mean, it tasted like they put old catcher's mitts in the barrels, lol. Not my cup of tea at all.

Crazy what is available and desired in each state. For example, my local store has a ton of store pick Buffalo Trace for under $30 and it just sits. Lol
Nice picks, the Buffalo Trace SP makes me a bit jealous. 2nd City isn't bad, I've tried a few to support my local area distillery, being from Augusta. Worth giving a try in my opinion.

I have a Camp Nelson A floor 4 Russells pick as well, and it has very similar notes to what Trey had. Excellent excellent bottle, wish I had a back up. Currently using a special pour bottle to preserve the last 60%😂

That bottle that is from Augusta GA is distilled local downtown. I talked to them back in the summer and I bought a bottle from them put have not open it yet. they do come out with a limited bottle every year for the masters that i'm going to try to grab when they come out next year.

In Spokane, WA, we have a couple places with Buffalo Trace store picks and they just sit on the shelves. I don’t really know why because they are excellent!

I have a local Sam's that is one of my honey holes here in Miami. Last week I scored that Russell's Private for $58, a 1.75 of Buffalo Trace for $40 and an Eagle Rare for $35. Best week of hunting I've had to date.

I do love the benchmark old no 8 but I can't find any of the other benchmark bottles anywhere in my area in MI
The other ones are really where its at! The single Barrel and Full Proof are my favs
I know this is an old video, so I don’t know if Buffalo trace is still hard to come by but in Illinois here store in town has had it on sale for $25 a bottle had to grab a few for a rainy day

Buffalo Trace is my favorite. It isn't a top tier drink but it gets the job done. And here in Texas Trace is rare to find so when i find it I'm getting it. Always a good sipper.

@@Bourbon_Hunter I used to be somewhat into affordable tequila but found these bottles after I got into bourbon. They’ve got a huge lineup of different barrel aged tequilas. I’ve got the Blantons, Buffalo Trace, and Eagle Rare. They’re allocated down here in Alabama now though. But they’ve also got some higher end bottles aged in Elmer T Lee, Weller, and others. The eagle rare is definitely worth a buy. I got mine for around $35

The BT Store is a great find but sorry about the pricing. They are $24 here pick or not.
The 2023 Yellowstone Limited Edition is good but not worth $100. Last year’s Limited Edition was $107 and was one of the best bourbons last year.

Would love to see some blind taste testing. Is the high dollar bourbon that much better? Is it all just marketing and snobbery? Line them up…put them to the taste test…! You need a blind tasting panel of 15 or more to make things statistically significant. Heck….you don’t even need to leave town to do this….and no doubt plenty of volunteer tasters. Who knows….maybe Evan Williams 90 proof is as good as something 8x the price. I would like to see a bourbon hunt modeled on youtube’s Project Farm….one of the best testing channels ever…and profitable too.

Great selection there, that BTSP was a bit pricey, most I’ve seen them for was $40 and I passed, but I have about 9 of them from different stores now for all around $25-$30 so I am a little picky on the price of them now. Just saw an Eagle Rare SP for $75 and passed on it too

I paid 30 for a liter Buffalo Trace pick this week. That price is not great
Its a single barrel store pick they typically bring in a couple more bucks 🤙🏼🥃
Have had both single barrel and regular side by side. So little difference to make it worth 50 bucks. Normal bottle of BT is 28 here. Can find it all day long for 40 but nobody pays that for it here in Texas

The worst Buffalo Trace, that I ever had was a store pick. It was from shoppers vineyard in Clifton, NJ. Horrible💩

A Barrel single barrel seems odd to me as Barrel does not distill or age their own stuff? Aren't they a 100% buy and blend their own?
