- Four hundred years ago, the first enslaved Africans were brought to what is now the United States, landing in the English colony of Virginia. That first group came from Angola, seized by British pirates from a captured Portuguese slave ship. In Angola, young people people are learning about the history of the slave trade in the classroom, as VOA’s Mayra de Lassalette and Betty Ayoub found when they traveled to the African nation. Mayra de Lassalette narrates their report.

The teacher is misleading those kids. No advantages of slavery! Just condemn! That's all!
Kiesse disappoints me. 😢 Our people traveled, honey. We did not need slavery to be introduced to other cultures.
Unfortunately most Africans have this view point.

Sorry, I've the truth for you. There existed physical slavery and spiritual, keeping the Bible and Al-Qu'aran are just slave mentality, unfortunately most are into it.
Miseducation in the classroom continues. Colonization continues. Enslavement continues.
I threw up a bit when that baby said slavery had benefits. African countries do a disservice to us the ones who were taken by teaching the children this rubbish. Then the other one who said slavery was practices in Africa before...chattel slavery that was invented by Arabs and Europeans was non existent I'm Africa.... I feel frustrated watching this video
They have been lied to by the Portuguese colonial system.

Slaveships left Angola with slaves from 1500 up to 1888. Angolans decided to sold slaves to the Portuguese.
What was the Portuguese doing there in the first place???
To buy slaves from the Africans ; and those slaves are Isrealites
The Africans sold Isrealites to the Portuguese.

Slavery history must be taught to this youngsters. Its a right to information and they should not be denied.

Moses wrote the Torah.
