  • Vincent Tucker, president of the William Tucker 1624 Society, and his sister, Wanda, recently returned to Virginia from a five-day visit to Angola, Africa; a trip they took at the invitation of the country's president, João Lourenco. The Tuckers are believed to be descendants of two of the first enslaved Africans to land in English North America at Point Comfort in 1619, which is in present-day Hampton, Virginia. Angola is the country those African slaves came from.

The Tuckers as a family need to change their names officially to Angolan Bantu names. You owe it to your ancestors.

Ok. Is this a suggestion of a new name for the Tucker family, based one of the indigenous languages of the Angola region? If so, cool!

I am a descendant of Duarte Mozingo, and the mother of Elizabeth Key, both mentioned in the 1619 documents.

There is a lot of confusion when it comes to who we are , but I must admit that the strongest evidence in which I have come across points to black Americans descending from Angola.

We don't just come from one place it's not as mysterious as it used to be. 25% of Africans coming to the U.S. were Mandinka, Wolof, Mende all Muslims from Western African countries like Senegal, Gambia, Sierra Leon many of those Africans were rice cultivators and knew how to dye indigo so they were taken to Geechee territory on Sapelo Island, Coastal Georgia and South Carolina. They also took a sizeable amount of Angolans to these regions as well. Black Americans also may have some ancestry from Madagascar if they have family that was enslaved in Virginia, Boston or New York. We also have a high igbo dna from Nigeria, Gabon, LIberia, Cote D' Voire and Ghana tribes like the ewe and Ashanti.

Ancestors had an option slavery or gencide. That was what tribal warfare was about. Slavery and prostitution are two of oldest professions in the Bible.
