Good evening bud I just watched this video again and where would you put your elbow when started for either toproll
John 15:10
That's why armwrestling is so beautiful : brute force serving intelligence, technique and subtility ... Bravo guys!
Too bad that you have neither.
Thanks buddy!
Don’t be a bully 🤣
@@reimannx33 just like you're mom and dad you have neither
Yeah thanks for the clear explanation
Now we need a video on how to defend against toproll with hook :D
Yeah
squeeze their thumb hard and don't let go
Next one
This is a great technique to beat bigger people. Though like Janis said it requires strength from the bicep, lats, hand, and wrist to block their hook. Making them hold onto you is a great way to top roll into their fingers. The lat drag (backpressure) is only as good as the bicep/brachioradialis that keeps the elbow angle tight and keep up pressure into the opponents fingers. Great video thanks guys!
if you lean forward with your shoulder the angle becomes easier for lat drag without bicep as much because its going through the bone instead of against it (if that makes sense) similar with kings-move, 'side pressure' is coming through bicep when your whole arm is pronated and you are camping under the table, instead of 'actual side-pressure' stood up ... because of the angle.
👍🏻💪🏻
Levan is a walking example for that 💀
You guys are awesome. So much free armwrestling knowledge on your channel for everyone to check out
Is it just me or has all our regular channels and armwrestling as a whole come along way forward in the last year. I love it, want to keep the momentum going. Watching both Janis and Ryan win at Wal was pretty cool
👍🏻❤️
What else you want to know?
How to be better if u have short fingers and short arm? My hand and finger are so easy to get opened when my opponent is top rolling me.Also if my opponent is getting his hand as high as possible, I cant even hold his hand and makes my eblow lifted up the pad as my arm is too short. I really wanna know what can I do😭
Can you maybe write an armwrestlingbook?
How to defend from kingsmove
How to recover from king's move +. Best exercises for back pressure
How to hook a toproller
Thank you so much ,that was exactly what I was looking for !!
Awesome video guys! Really one of the best explanation of a good defense and set up.
👍🏻🔥
Thanks a lot. This is the first time I find out about high hook. After learning about the weakness of high hook, amazingly, I can defeat my high hook opponent with ease. I tried it right away and it works.
I am training for my first tournament in two months, thanks couch Ray for this. I'm really into top rolling so apparently dragging back it's a good way to attack the hook.
Great video! Would have been even better if Janis broke down his recent match vs Holland since it was good example of hook vs top-roll fight. What worked for him, what didn't, how was he able to come back from 2 bad starts etc. It's one thing to present theory like this but another to give real life examples.
Maybe Ryan Blue Bowen can make a review of that match! His match reviews are pretty good.
Janis is strong inside himself. He was able to stop Holland and, although he couldn't beat him in the hook, he was able to hold effectively until he could transition to a press. So I suppose the takeaway is have a strong defensive hook, a strong press, and be able to efficiently transition between them - even if your initial movement is with the intent of toprolling. Of course if you don't want to have to get so great at the defensive hook and also the press but do want to rely on your pronation for this, there's always the extreme toproll aka the king's move 😁
Hmmm great Idea!
These are the type of videos i need. I am sure there are previouse educational posts but a repeat is like a refresher course. Thanks.

I would be interested in how you prepare your muscles for such a heavy load during a match, even if I train regularly, after the match I have so much pain in the biceps and elbow area that it takes me two months before I can function again. Thanks
great vid guys!
👍🏻💪🏻❤️
Love it!!!!
Thanks Janis!
Thx, so helpful!!
You are welcome!
love this channel
Thank You!
Perfect guys, thank you.
👍🏻❤️💪🏻
A tec question for Amolins.
When there is pressure and an opponent holds hard on my hand(no streps) ist it better than to use pronation from the hand joints to the forearm generating pressure on the little finger of the opponent? So, shortly, if I have no power in the wrist is it better to use the forearm bone as a leverage or it could be dangerous. Sorry for my bad english
Great video.
👍🏻❤️
This was an amazing video to watch the both of you explain everything so easily thank you so much
Love it! More like this please. Also, please do press video. It needs more love imo
Will do!
best video.. hello brother i usually use hook long time back but after trying out toproll, now i tend to use mixed hook and toproll wich is more like a upper hook and pull like topsroll.. what do you think about this, will it really be good in long run and to be honest i have a dominian hook... hope you will reply😇
Perfection 🔥🔥
:)) awesome
The science of armwrestling at its best!

Uauu, very nice and simple explanation guys :-)
💪🏻👍🏻
Bravo guys, love from india
Hi coach, beginner here.
Isn't the first hook you demonstrated (at around 2:40), the high hook, isn't it kind of like a toproll?
Thanks!
Thanks boss
Good luck
This will be very helpful against my uncle who like to shoulder press
Baigie veči! Super 🦾😎💪😎
Paldies 🔥🔥🔥
informatif as always
👍🏻💪🏻
It's interesting that Janis didn't talk about chopping and low hand top roll against low hand hookers. If I am against a guy I know is going to low hook every time I will get a low grip on their hand. My bottom fingers will be on the opponents wrist. This will allow you to engage the lat more. You push hard down on their wrist with your hand and raise your wrist which blocks their hook. Then you just rotate and it sets your top roll. The chopping movement is key for me to stop the hook.
Good video
👍🏻
So what would be the best option focusing on your preferred technique or learning counter in every technique?
Do toproll vs toproll, please guys. Such a good video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you guys so much.
I am inside puller but when some1 supinate me i got very hard time. Because my hook i based on cupping and i dont have enough pronation to defend against is supination.
Great video but it’s worth mentioning that the grip before the start and how loose or strict referees are ,on grip and shoulder position and allowing you to “load”, plays a big role imo..
Many fights are won before they even start and equal fights are lost right there....
👍🏻
Keep it up
some people talk abount kickback of the wrist when stopping a hooker for going inside, can you explain how that helps?
Janis might be the GOAT at this move
The jedi always has good information
Force🦍
intelligence + physics + power = V.O.A. well done gentleman...zank you!!!!!!
👍🏻❤️💪🏻😂
Pamācošs video,paldies👍
:)
Hello Janis, I have question how did Bishop beat you so fast the first time he pulled you? Were you suprised by his technique?
Janis is awesome, love coach ray too!
We appreciate that :)
I find it much harder to do such techniques in the strap, since the wrist is tied to the forearm, is there any way to deal with that? Maybe a loose strap? getting the strap lower on your forearm?
Hope to see that in a future video, cuz this one was super informative, thanks!
👍🏻💪🏻
How many days should be train bicep ? Plz reply
From india fan
AWESOME........
👍🏻💪🏻🔥
Hi Guys! Can you make a video and show how apply press. Thank You!
Next time
I am good at pull ups rather than push ups and My hand is short. My current technic is hook with shoulder press, it works. But my doubt is, do Pull up strength help me to be a good toproller, rather than a hooker. Is it fair to go to toproll?
plss make a video how to again hook with top roll
