- One great way to get some extra mileage out of a hardmodded Xbox 360 is having some fun with offline cheats, especially for some of those tough single player experiences. This video will walk through the process of obtaining trainer files designed to work with individual games through Aurora, setting them up on the console, using them in-game, and troubleshooting some potential issues that might come up. Hopefully the troubleshooting will prevent some users out there from experiencing their trainers not working or locking up their console.

Thanks for the XBOX 360 coverage! I have a fat edition that's going to be worked on soon by a modder I met from discord. I will look for any future XBOX 360 videos. It's the console that I'm most into at the moment. Without considering handhelds.

The solution to games freezing when loading via a trainer in aurora: once your 360 has booted up to aurora then start any game of your choice without loading the game via a trainer in aurora, or alternatively go to the official 360 system settings via aurora - then load back into aurora and load your game, with the trainer that you want to play. Works every time so 100% success rate. Nova can always be enabled if you want it, the screenshot plugin also.
Thanks for sharing! I've never had luck with the screenshot feature being enabled AND trying to use trainers all at once.
I found that restarting Aurora, either from Back button > Restart or by pressing the Guide button > Aurora Home (or you can press Y for Xbox Home which also works) fixes the freezing issue if you do that before launching a game with trainers on

This will definitely come in handy when I get a hardmodded 360. I got no soldering skills and not sure how much it would cost to get it done or find one on eBay. Don't suppose you have a video on getting cheats and trainers for OG Xbox? I just recently soft modded mine and have it set up with insignia thanks to your guides.
Also wondered about this. I can use my original Xbox I guess but that entails having to source all of that too.
I've only had experience using Xored for the original Xbox cheats.

That's also not a bad idea! I never tried that, I was just seeing recommendations for a blank launch.ini and tried it out.

Bro in these trainers there is dark souls trainer but it just don't appear in game menu to lunch it
What does the A-configure do? Can you do enable cheats before launching?

Huh... Definitely going to try this later because mine likes to freeze on almost everything and it's never consistent gets pretty annoying at times. 😅

I have a theory as to why games typically freeze when launching cheats sometimes.
The 360 is STUPID when it comes to memory optimization, and when those trainers work, basically there is a backend that hooks into an xex function to allow constant memory writing. If there is a cheat in a dynamic memory range, then it writes bad data and you get mem overflow :X That's why I typically write my cheats through asm, single write only which means you SHOULDN'T have that issue.
Another possible fix if you are still having trouble is to erase the tmp data on your HDD. There's an option for it from the Standard dashboard, I can't quite remember the steps but it's something else you can try. Hope that helps!!
Hey mate, just saw this comment and wanted to ask a quick question. I usually write all my cheats in ASM, too. How do you usually do that on the 360? Is there a way to set memory breakpoints or something? I guess my actual question is, how do you reverse engineer the game's binary to know which instructions to change?

I've noticed that if I boot a game without the trainer, close it, and then boot with the trainer it resolves the freezing issue consistently.

Yup figured it out 3 years ago with Lost Odyssey.
What about multidisc games like L.A. Noire? How do you back those up properly and run them, lots of conflicting information online.
Not sure when, but I'll have a full video covering multi-disc game installs.

I've been having a huge issue. My trainers are in but when I navigate in aurora to the game my trainers aren't showing
The exact build has to match the trainer being used, and they must be in the correct directory.

They need to be running in the correct folder, folder structure, and latest Aurora.
So I am still kinda new to this what is folder structure and I have the latest Aurora
Activate trainer, play game, deactivate when finished playing, sign out, turn off system. Repeat. Problem solved.

Friend, can you teach how to add trainers via FTP on Android?
FTP and unzipping archives is the same across the board, just extract using an unarchiving app and FTP using a FTP app. I've done what you're asking about with this exact use case on my own Android device.
