  • The serial killer nurse Lucy Letby will never be released from prison after a judge sentenced her to a rare whole-life term for the murder of seven babies.

Letby, 33, is only the third woman alive to be given the jail term in the UK. She was sentenced at Manchester crown court on Monday. The former neonatal nurse, the worst child serial killer in modern British history, was also convicted of attempting to murder six more babies at the Countess of Chester hospital.

A senior consultant suspected what she was doing. He was then made, by the hospital board, to apologise to her. She then killed again. Now that the truth is out, those board members should also be jailed.

I am not looking to be hostile my friend but the elephant in the room which we need to address if we are to make a start down the road of understanding this kind of evil is to face the fact that she actually ISN'T the face of evil: even on her prison mug-shot she did not look different in kind or demeanour to the girls who lined up for England in the World cup final yesterday morning. Once we come to recognise and acknowledge that evil is as mundane as anything else in life and is as readily packaged in the form of the girl next door as a face like The Joker, we will be better able to identify it and less susceptible to its manifestations in society and assaults on human sensibilities.

For many people, children are a life's worth. For many, it is a blessing after years of childlessness. I hope the poor parents who lost their children find some solace in the fact that she can't hurt any other babies.

Herself and her two enablers are MIA. So, dump it all on the public and the poor families. Where is the justice in that? This is a travesty, I mean, look at this judge guy talking to a ghost. There is a reason, why delinquents must appear in court. What the heck is "refused", how is she entitled to "refused"? Outrageous.

The NHS is in tatters atm and i think it starts at the top. All those who chose to try and hide the fact there was something not right about the situation should be held accountable too.
