We took a long 14 hour drive to meet up with @KayakCatfish and Texas Carp Pro guide service back in November, to go after some gigantic Texas style fish. Targeted species included small mouth buffalo, big mouth buffalo, and carp. We had some well below average temperatures that lead to some brutal days of fishing but between catching 100s of channel catfish we finally landed a huge smallmouth buffalo and a few nice carp as well.
