@Chad Hoskins Losing is not a bad thing. You can't win everything in life, so making small competitions like this is a valuable lesson. I used to play board games with my son when he was little. I would intentionally win and show him how to celebrate a win and be happy for someone else. I would then let him win and we would repeat the process, celebrating him. It didn't seem to phase Jacobi or Houston about who won or lost. They were having fun!
Down South y'all call them micro rods, up north we call them ice fishing rods. Lol. Way to go Jacoby.

I know this should have been more about Mothers day, but theres nothing more enjoyable than taking kids out and catching one fish after another. Thats gotta make momma somewhat happy that the kids are out of her hair and most importantly staying out of trouble.

Great to see Jacobi having such a great time.
I enjoyed watching the two dogs, Bella is the most super dog and the little one Earl, is trying to catch up. Oh and there's Bear finally showed up. It' also so good that dad is showing them not to make the fish suffer. This is so important as this will go beyond the fish and make them take notice of life and respect for it. Life lessons from a good parent.

Those sand bass are vicious eating in the spring!... We've caught them using the reflective silver wrapper from candy bars cut in strips as a streamer. Love to get into the sand bass on a fly rod.
Daniel, Do a video challenge with 'alternative' baits for the kids...?...
Make your own bait... (bright colored) 'Gummies', flat and spiral spaghetti noodles, clump of goat hair tied to a hook, etc. It would be a hoot!
Jacoby was killing them white bass..and at the end when he lipped that regular bass I genuinely smiled because I was proud of the little guy. Both of them little guys have so much fun on that creek making memories to last a lifetime..

I'm so jealous of Houston. I wish I could have been raised fishing and farming. I'm sure that you get people criticizing you about the way you raise your kids, because people are always going to be keyboard ninjas and talk trash on the computer that they would never say to your face, but screw them. You're family is such a delight to watch. Maybe one day you'll have a get together with your subscribers. If you do, we'll sure be happy to make the drive to come see ya'll.

I’d be filling my freezer with those sand bass with food prices going up like they are.
When I was a youngster, we fished for Walleye to fill the family freezers. We trolled Friday nights and drifted Saturday and Sunday mornings. We fished and hunted to feed the family. Old ways are coming back.
He said they were not good after freezing them. To fishy!

Daniel I certainly wish my two sons had done stuff with my hubby when he was alive, but he was a otr trucker and was always gone for at least 3 weeks at a time. I certainly. Wanted better for my sons, but my youngest son had a big brother that he had thru our church. They were teenagers when he passed from lung cancer. Cherish your kids as long as you can! Take care and god bless💜💜💜💜💜💜. I truly think that’s why coby comes over to you guys house all the time. It’s so good for him to have a awesome roll model in his life. God bless.
