I love to hear the joy in the voice of the dad when his son hooks a big one. It makes me think of the joy our Heavenly Father must feel when we have a success.

i live close to a lake and there is HUGE bass i caught! i also love houstons smile when he catches one!
Reminds me of when I was a boy that age when our dad took us fishing. 3 boys 4 years apart. I’ve raised two sons and we went on many trips to football and basketball games and spent many evenings on the fishing dock. Our oldest son is in his 23rd year in law enforcement and our youngest son passed away almost 19 years ago at 25 years old. His son was born 8 weeks after he passed away. He came home with us from the hospital and has been legally ours since he was a few months old. Long story short, to this day he is 18 now there is nothing he would rather do than go fishing with dad. It’s a bonus when we catch fish but a great couple of hours if we don’t. We usually are catching fish when other people on the dock aren’t. I worked as a civilian in law enforcement for 21 years in our area. We met Jimmy Houston twice in the town we live in several years ago when he was about Houston’s age.

OK THEN HOUSTON!! I have a pic when I was the same age as Houston holding up a stringer with 6 BIG BASS on it. I caught them in the Allegheny River in PA. My Dad was so proud of his Lil girl. Honestly something I'll never forget!! I could barely hold the stringer in the air to take the pic! Seriously Great Job Houston BEAUTIFUL FISH!

Daniel I love your relationship with Houston you're an amazing dad and Houston did a great job today I love all your videos and I must say for Houston's age he has a great intelligence he knows a lot and is vocabulary is excellent and Houston's going to be a very smart boy in school that would not be surprised if he skips grades and he graduates early because he learns fast and he's very smart I want to say congratulations to Houston on the great job that you are doing at the beginning of the videos and the amazing jobs that you were doing throughout the whole videos and how you end the videos are very proud of you and I'm proud of you Daniel and DJ on how you raised Houston you did a great job and he's an amazing young man
What an AWESOME DAD YOU ARE
Daniel, take a stick about a quarter of an inch in diameter and cut it off about 12" lng. Then cut a "Vee" groove in one end so the you can slip the stick into the fish's mouth and slide the notch down the fishing line to the hook and then cover the hook with the wooden groove and then push on the stick until the hook comes unhooked and then twist the stick until you can pull the stick out of the fish's mouth. This should keep the hook wound at a minimum. They make a plastic stick version of this hook extractor but I always made a wooden stick to handle the hook removal task. Keep up the great events with Houston. Where is Cobb these days?

Try bagging that cast net twice instead of once with the left hand... When you throw less net has to follow and goes in a circle... Threw net for bait for many years... I had a 12' and a 14' net...

Hey Houston, try using fewer loops or larger loops on your rope. Small loops tangle easy when released, preventing your net from completely opening.
I love big bass on a camp fire. Wrapped in foil. The best!

Might need to walk around the bass pond or use the boat make sure no Otter crap on the far side. We would dip net suckers / white fish think it was May. They make excellent fish balls or patties.
