by far the best spraying video I've seen so far. High gloss is the most difficult to spray so all this information applies to any other finish as well and you will have near perfect result. Very good job. Love the attention to detail
Magnificent job and well done for an interesting and informative video. You're obviously a LOT more professional than many others posting on the subject of painting MDF.
Hi Robert, thank you for your great and detailed video. Im a very beginner painter however I working on a project and want to achieve a black piano finish. My question is, can I use oil based paint on Mdf or you highly recommend lacquer paint ? Thank you!
Watched this as 1st video of your channel. instant sub. This is cadillac work, techniques apply across a broad range of job types, thank you for posting. Grateful algo found your site.
i'm thinking of finishing an MDF speaker cabinet with this method. What is the first step to prep the MDF? Should i fill any gaps etc? if so, what do you use to fill? sand after filling?
Love the video it’s great to see your work and very informative. I was a little confused with the paint your using and the mixes. Are you using a ac lacquer that has already been pigment and then thinning it down. Or are you mixing it with a base colour yourself?
my dressing table is made of the same thing but I want to paint it black what do I do, should I sand down the gloss then paint over it or can I just paint over it ?
Hi That's a great Video with full detail.. yes I have a question do you use regular high gloss water base or is it paint with high gloss. And what is the name of the high gloss
This is fantastic can’t wait to try this on a bathroom cabinet I’d like to make. Could you possibly provide in the video description the different products used also I can go buy the same. Thanks
Hi, thanks4thisvideo. I have primered my cupboards but still need to sprsy with 2k whute and 2k clear. Ive been told differrnt things aboit waiting and sanding times. So im confused. I have been told that u need to spray the clear 2k over tge whute base colour while its still wet like within an hour but was also told u can spray the base and wait 7 days then spray the clear. U have advuce for me plz when to spra the clear. Also can i sand the 2k clear after applying it as u have done here after the firat layer say after half hour? Plz advise thank u
Great video, really helpful. what sort of % are you thinning the A/C and what gun settings are you using tip size , psi? also where do you get the SiaShine i can't find it anywhere in the uk online?
Love this video on painting MDF . Iam doing speakers boxes want high Gloss what kind of paint to used I looking for hard and a deep high Gloss they will be my be around a bit I here that a auto paint 🎨 s the best ????
HI, I just buy a new high gloss cabinet kitchen, but the guys that intall it use acetone to give it a finish clean to all, now like 3 of the cabines you can see the trayectory of the wipe they used, then it was imposible to erase all those marks,it's very frustrating, do you have a advise how to clean those wipes trayectories ? Valerie
Can you give me a list of products you used. Iv bought some high gloss doors but different colours so need to respray them and do I need a top coat or just a light sand as already high gloss finish thanks for your help
The kitchen cabinets in mt place are MDF, and also unfathomably glossy!I've always wondered if they were done by man or machine. I at least now know man is capable of doin it!! haha Blood amazing job mate, that finished reflection was like a mirror! Even with my love of matte & satin, I'd have that finish! Keep up the craftsman quality! 👍🏼
Tristan Chase yo yo! Thank you mate means a lot 😋 Yeah I love 10/25 more than anything Gloss can de moralise you though. You really have to be on the ball with it!
That’s fantastic! I know the finish looks ace but does it wear hard from everyday use? I thought I was ok with my Tikki products but this is in a different league! I hate using solvent but I might have to go back to it! Thanks for showing the vid, really informative and well done!
Yo! Ac once fully cured after a month is durable. Especially after machine polishing. With low sheens you don’t want to rub finish to hard because you can 'shine up the finish' but I’m sure this can happen with PU and other paints.
Im here in Canada. Instead of using 2k catalyst, would a conversion varnish do the trick? Don't know too much about 2k over here and hoping you can shed some light. Great video. Thanks
Quality content! Were the edges just sealed with the primer? Did they stay as just a gun finish or did you go through the same 1500|2000|compound steps on those too?
Great finish Actually I have tried on mdf panel But still waviness is there can you please tell me what product you have used and what process you have done
The only guide on youtube where the MDF comes out like glass. All the others come out with wayy to much orange peel. Going to paint a subwoofer box like this. Thanks
good work .I have one question. What is your paint brand ,If i polish the edges it goes deep and damages it with a black line.I have tried more gently it is the same. What i blamed was the 45 degree router bit on the edges, but as I see yours is 45 degree too.Maybe round bit will work better.so we can polish the edges better
As I spray and polish the door myself I know how much paint I put on. You really don’t wanna lean into the edge too much. Just have the polishing head hanging over the edge a touch. I use sherwin Williams (AC LACQUER) PU would be ideal for quicker drying times. Before polishing make sure you’re not going to heavy with 1500g just sanding enough to get door flat. Same situation with wet sand too.
@@gsigeneral thank you brother, Im a fan of your channel from now on.You really are a pro.Unfortunately there is no distribution of Shervin W. in my country,I use ICA coatings italian, and its a hard PU to polish.Have you tried any other brand 2k poly that you were satisfied with ?

Always appreciate a pro, the attention to detail surpasses everything I've watched.
Now THIS - is craftsmanship. Well done that man!
Magnificent job and well done for an interesting and informative video. You're obviously a LOT more professional than many others posting on the subject of painting MDF.
Wow,wow, wow. This is the best video I’ve ever watched. On point at all times and no music. Well done. Have subscribed to hopefully learn something.
Damn. That finish is amazing
Just love learning new stuff from professionals like yourself. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Wow! Just wow! I am seriously rethinking my summer plans for refinancing guest bedroom furniture. This is brutal.
Superior work and finish there my friend. Well done.

Stunning work!
Masterful craftmanship.
Brilliant video. I have ordered the discs and polar shine . Can you tell me what finishing/polish product you used after the sia shine?
Perfect!
What an amazing result. Excellent job.
Thanks 🙏
fantastic bud I do it the same but every one wants to rush these things thanks for posting.
Very nice.. would this work on a raised panel door like a shaker, Just wondering how I would do the corners? Would it be by hand with sanding blocks?
That is bloody amazing! Great work!
Thank you geeza 😋

my dressing table is made of the same thing but I want to paint it black what do I do, should I sand down the gloss then paint over it or can I just paint over it ?

Hi That's a great Video with full detail.. yes I have a question do you use regular high gloss water base or is it paint with high gloss. And what is the name of the high gloss

Cheers mate my pleasure
What type of paint and clear coat are you using?
Is it a car paint?
Great video, really helpful. what sort of % are you thinning the A/C and what gun settings are you using tip size , psi? also where do you get the SiaShine i can't find it anywhere in the uk online?
Dominic Hicks I thin ac by 10% slow thinners for gloss
2 bar at gun
I get the sia shine from hallmark fraulo.
Cheers mate!
What primer are you using? Should I be using special paint for mdf? And what gun are you using?
Love this video on painting MDF . Iam doing speakers boxes want high Gloss what kind of paint to used I looking for hard and a deep high Gloss they will be my be around a bit I here that a auto paint 🎨 s the best ????
Wow. Thanks for the tutorial. Job well done.
Absolutely Gorgeous!
That is an amazing video !!! How much hours per kitchen on average does it take ?
nice job man . what air pressure you spraying with ? and when we will get a new content from your great work??!!
Hi, i have a table with gloss finish, at corners i got some chips , deep, how can i fix it ? is it even possible to fix it
Ive just made some cupboard doors for my daughters bedroom, can i get a quote on how much it will cost to get coated in gloss white
Tremendous job, very nice, what kind of is that.? That urethane, polyurethane, lacquer?
So, no sanding down the color coat before the clear? ..Or does orange peel only matter when finishing out the clear.?
HI,

Gloss can de moralise you though. You really have to be on the ball with it!
My floorings high gloss white, similar to this, I’ve got chips and scratches, any idea how I can repair them?
Awesome finish on that. Nice work.
Thank you 😎
Great video thankyou, hopefully can put it into practice!
Yes gloss takes time is hard to spray flat high gloss but can be done also
Brilliantly done 🙌
thanks man 🤘🏻
Is there anyway to paint over high gloss kitchens??
does mirka sop fade or discolor with time

Mirka ceros Sander and Mirka hoover!
👊🏻
Great tips & tricks!
Quality work and a really helpful video 🙏🏻👌👍
Thanks bud!
Hi love your work can you send me a link for the spray paint your using many thx
Great video 💪🏽👌🏾
Im here in Canada. Instead of using 2k catalyst, would a conversion varnish do the trick? Don't know too much about 2k over here and hoping you can shed some light. Great video. Thanks
Yes you can. A post-catalyzed lacquer/ conversion varnish can be purchased in 90°sheen then polished ;)
Gonna do this on a set of floorstanding speakers which are wood veneer ATM.
Nice work, as usual :) But sir, could i get this result with airmix ?
Great results
What kind of paint did you spray, a 2k auto paint?
Where are you located I would love to makeover my dressing table in high gloss
Love the part where he shows the car reflection, such a clear finish.
Can you please list the type of paint used whether oil or water based and what kind of thinner you use, thank you
It was 2k acid catalyst paint. (AC)
10 % slow thinners 10% hardener
Cheers
Is that polarshine 10 polish course or meduim ? Class video 👏👏👏👏
Quality content! Were the edges just sealed with the primer? Did they stay as just a gun finish or did you go through the same 1500|2000|compound steps on those too?
Edges was out the gun. Too pussy to flat polish them with this product of paint. With better quality paint I may dabble
And thanks brother! ♥️
Superb finish. One question, (about your booth😂) you have a top filter?? Is that pushing air through?? Cheers
SprayPal Refinishing yup drawing air in mate!
Cheers 🍻
really nice video job well done
Wonderful
Amazing finish... wish u were close to me!!
Cheers mate 😬
Great finish
Actually I have tried on mdf panel
But still waviness is there can you please tell me what product you have used and what process you have done
Hi all products used are mentioned in upload. There will always be some possible wave. MDF isn’t perfectly flat on raw state
The only guide on youtube where the MDF comes out like glass. All the others come out with wayy to much orange peel. Going to paint a subwoofer box like this. Thanks
So will that be good enough for kitchen cabinets, even if water runs down on it, is it gonna be 100% waterproof, no swelling of the MDF?
It is 100% waterproof. See this finish as it has been wrapped in plastic 👌🏻
Nice work keep it up
Going to do this now thanks for all it step by step info and ur tips I'm gonna tackle my kitchen
where do you buy the gloss mdf wood
what paint did you use?
Excellent thanks

I have high gloss mdf doors can you paint over them plesde
Will this work on plywood as well with same effect
It could but you’d need a good high build primer and a paint that doesn’t shrink back dramatically. MDF would be ideal
Really good vid. Customer's dont really understand the work that goes into Gloss, High gloss finishes!
They don’t 😁 thanks bro!
Please can let the name finishing materials you use for your gloss
Awesome job!!! Do you ever use Hollandlac?
No mate I like my 2k products 😊👊🏻
A professionnal.....
And there’s me happy with a paint brush😂😂👍🏻
Impressive

Nice job.
Could you list all the products you are using, want to do pretty much what you've done!
