    I'm an XL so if this is helpful for someone: at the beginning I chained 96, the neck was 6x8 clusters and the four corners, and the shoulder/chest part was 10 rows. For the sleeves I did 33 rows. I used almost 600gr of bulky yarn.

    Quick math for anyone who did a bigger size.
    If you did 72 then it’s 4x6.
    If you do 84 then it’s 5x7.
    If you do 96 then it’s 6x8.
    If you do 108 then its 7x9.
    I did 120 and it is 8x10.

      @@elsyegoigwe Depending on what type of material you use and the hook, 72 chains can be too small for your neck, or to even go over your head like it was for me. So if 72 stiches fit you , the first and main pattern is 4 clusters on opposate sides and 6 clusters on the rest , so 4 clusters, 6 then 4 then 6 and you move on to the next row. I figured that everything goes by 12, If you need just a little bigger then the next size is 84 chains and then again 5 clusters then 7 then 5 then 7 again and so on. I hope you understand, it is a bit hard to explain. If the 72 chains fit you, then go by everything the video says, other than that count 12 more chains and an extra cluster for every 12 chains till you are satisfied!

    If you're like me, you may have to increase the number of initial stitches: i'm a medium in most tops but I have wide shoulders, so I increased to **150** chains, and marked the armpits with stitch markers (so in 4 places). I think as long as you have a multiple of 3, (that also ends in 5 or 0? not sure) you should be okay.

    • @emjem38
      @emjem38 Před rokem +7

    • @karinkawano8682
      @karinkawano8682 Před rokem +2

      @@emjem38 each cluster uses 3 chains, so 150 - 12 chains (which you'll need for the corners) = 138 chains, which divided by 3 leaves us with 46 clusters to work in total (both length and width). however, it doesn't follow the creator's proportions for each side, because using 12 in length and 10 in width = 44 clusters, while 13 in length and 11 in width = 48, so i would recommend using either 144 chains or 156 chains if you want to keep it that way. that's the math i did for my adjustments at least :')

    I LOVE your teaching style! I have crocheted for 63 years, I like to look on CZcams for new patterns and sometimes get soooo frustrated bc some other videos go over the “basic stitches” 3 or 4 times (I’ll show you again and again in slow motion) I try to skip forward but either not far enough or too far. Sometimes the videos are 40 minutes bc they keep talking about various things as you watch them crochet. I don’t like to leave negative comments so I say nothing, but I WANT to say, “most ppl looking at you want to know the pattern, have a different video to TEACH single crochet, or any other stitch!”.
    You are great in your method, you are soft spoken and don’t talk about walking your dog in the park this morning or any other non related info. I have subscribed to your channel for this reason. Thank you!

    Thanks for sharing. This is the best tutorial for this kind of sleeve shrug. I prefer raglan constructions because they provide a better fit. All the other tutorials I’ve seen for the crochet fishnet sleeve shrug have been doing the back and chaining for the neck hole and continuing on the front, then joining for the sleeves, not as neat a construction as the raglan method, and you’re not actually increasing along the body, like you do in the raglan method.

  • @Pizzapieeye
    @Pizzapieeye Před rokem +29

    Hiya! A helpful tip for those having to adjust the count due to size of yarn, also personal body measurements! I am a plus size girly and I’m using a small sized yarn. I did a simple count of 120 chains. Just enough for my hard to get through. I’m also bad at math. Here is what I did figure out though.
    With an initial 120 chains i did:
    120 dived by 3 = 40
    This lets you know the number of spaces you will be putting your clusters in.
    Here is where you have to remember the CORNER clusters. You will be putting them in the same loop.
    So with my initial 40 spaces with 120 chains, I would think to do 7 clusters in length, 13 in width. (This is where I messed up. Cause that makes 40 right? Well actually I had to make it 14x8 not 13x7.
    Cause you have to take into account the corners. So I basically did
    120➗ 3 + 4
    That’s told me what exact number of clusters I needed to make
    So divided you chain number by 3 than add for to that. Then decide what you want your spacing to be.
    Sorry if that’s confusing I am far from any kind of genius lol

    • @tinyrockcrochet
      @tinyrockcrochet Před rokem +7

      @gelo14 GIRL YES. Let me get my measurements. I did 38 rows in total for my sleeves to reach my wrists. At row 26, I laid it flat and marked where the under-most side of the arm would be on both arms. Then, I increased by one extra cluster in that space. Every other cluster is normal. Row 27, same thing. In that space made by the two-cluster increase, do another two-cluster increase. Now, this is when it got tricky for me to figure out. Took a lot of trial and error, lol. Row 28, I did another increase, but to the right of row 27's increase. Otherwise, it looks like your arm is a ridiculously geometrical shape. Then I did row 29- 33 as normal with one cluster in each space. Row 34, I stuck another increase to where would be the left of row 27 and 28th's increase, just several rows up so its not so triangular and noticeable. I hope this made sense, and I hope this helped💕💕💕💕💕

    Its funny, i have no clue of any of the terms in crochet and cant read patterns but i can make anything if there is a clear video! My only question is r.e. yarn! I want to use a lighter weight yarn, and maybe have bigger gaps so its more lace like for summer. How would i go about doing that? Is it easier to use the same hook size and change the numbers, or should i change hook size to get gauge with whatever yarn i choose? If its the latter would i need to up hook size im guessing? I get confused when doing gauge even when knitting as to whether i need to increase or decrease needle size to achieve gauge 😅

    Im having a bit of s problem here
    I used a thinner yard and i increased the start stitches to 8 x 6 , i also did 8 rows because by using a smaller yarn, the lenght was really short. But the problem is that booth of the sleeves seems to ""sag"" ? A lot, but only st the point where the sleeve start (so like on the shoulder, almost under the armpit) i really don't know ehat to do to fix it😭

    the initial chains should be a multiple of 12. I.e, 132, 144, 156, 168
    So the clusters for 132 chains would be:
    9,11,9,11,9,11...
    And the clusters for 144 chains:
    10, 12, 10, 12...
    Just add 2 to the clusters for every multiple
