- After sprinkling 'holy water' on Regan Father Karras records a seemingly unidentifiable language coming from the stricken demon. He takes thi sot a language expert and is shocked to discover the language is indeed English in reverse.
Dir. William Friedkin. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
No joke went to see the re- release in theaters and that phone ring made the entire audience jump.
When I first saw this movie on VHS, I was 12 and I watched it in the morning and it didn’t play with my head until later on the day that I couldn’t get it out of my mind. It’s one of those movies to me that doesn’t scare me until after the film has concluded.
I was the same after watching 28 days later
The creepiness does stay with you, for sure. I don’t even like thinking about it, at night and alone.
Apparently the director shot a gun off unexpectedly to get karris to turn like that in surprise
😁😨
Sawn off shotgun extra loud blanks
It worked. Excellent reaction.
@@taylorchandler7058 I watched this movie for the first time last Halloween and it terrified me lol
@@BrandyTexas214 a bone chilling masterpiece.
Fun fact: the part where Karras turns his head as the phone as ringing, William Friedkin fired off a gun (loaded with a blank) to scare the fuck out of Jason Miller. He didn't tell him beforehand.
😨
Adorably funny too 😂
That's mean.
Yes I heard that, he was very angry about it.
At the beginning of the clip you see a Japanese word “Tasukete!” printed in red letters above the door. It means “help me!”
Very disturbing.
" he's a priest, HE'S A PRIEST"!!
Fear the priest
@Based_transition_Clocker it's "fear the priest," ...the scan of the original script is available online.
Even the greatest thrillers have their jump-scare moments, and this one's effective because we are listening so intently and curiously, and then !!WHAM!! that phone rings.
Another cool audio moment is when Father Merrin arrvies, enters the house, greets Karras, and suddenly we hear this _booming_ yell coming from upstairs. Love that. Very startling.
Now this is what I call a jumpscare, take note Blumhouse
'The Exorcist' came out (was released) when I was 1 year old. When I was 12 years old, I snuck downstairs in the middle of the night to watch it. (I had seen in the TV Guide earlier that day, that it was going to be on that night, on Cinemax.) The scene where they're listening to the audio recordings (both forward _and_ in reverse), is the scene that creeped 12-year-old me out _the most._ 🥺😱 (and it _still_ does.)
He's the real life father of actor Jason Patric who starred in The Lost Boys.
Did not know that! You are right!
I’m dead 😂 ! ‘MERIIIIIIIIIIIIIN’
Woah, the final scream is fucking amazing...
Me/Jite: The Demon is Taking Control of Regan,😕 And She's still Alive and She's Crying from the inside and the Outside.
Does anyone else find it really unsettling that the forward version, which is supposed to be completely unintelligible until the tape is played in “reverse”, can be heard clearly saying “no one there”?? (0:09 -0:13) ). In the actual book, the “forward” version is supposed to be unintelligible. No discernible Words or sentences. Always found that creepy. Creative direction or weird accident?
Me/Jite: I think I know what The Problem is. 😕
Damien: Then what is it? 😕
the priest is quite hot
Finally someone said it 😄👍🏻🔥
The devil is a good singer.
These days he’d probably chart with that number.
There's a guy named Fred and he's got a pair of slacks. Ohhhhh Fred's got slacks.
When the fucking phone rings.. everytime i shit my pants
dogmorfmocion
no matter how much they spend today.. they don't make movies like this anymore
