The Steeps of Squaw

- This year was my first time skiing in Lake Tahoe, and comparing this years snowpack to last year, it was looking like I picked the wrong year. But on arrival I was informed that they still had normal snowpack above 8,000 feet and below 8,000 feet it would be rocky, but rocks make things interesting. After my first ride up KT 22 I was hooked, so many things to jump off, so much to explore. On day 2 The Palisades opened and I got a taste of the Squallywood experience, straightlining Main Chute alongside seasoned locals. Day 3 brought 7 inches of Powder to refresh the terrain.
What’s that line?? Now you know :)
0:01 Main Chute, Palisades
0:24 Hourglass Cliffs (unmarked)
0:39 Shoulder Route, Eagles Nest (unmarked)
1:09 Main Chute, Palisades
1:22 National Variation, Palisades (unmarked)
1:40 National, Palisades
2:00 G.S Cliffs (unmarked)
2:22 The Nose Variation (unmarked)
Locals, if you know the names of any of these variations, don’t hesitate to correct me on my name list. Other viewers, please refrain from ragging on me for no sending the Chimney or hucking Eagles via Center Route. If you skied squaw at all this February you would know many of these routes were not possible or closed due to more snow, trust me I would have loved to hit those up conditions permitting. - Sport
0:50 is the most controlled descent of eagles nest I’ve ever seen, well done
Thank you!
Awesome skiing, rad video!
This may be one of the best videos of Squaw i have seen yet, fantastic footage and it must be steep if it looks in on camera!
Thank you thank you thank you

Nice job. Loved the lines you picked. I lived there for a few years, lot of gems off the beaten track.
Awesome video! Thanks for the details too. Well North Bowl and Chute 75 are steep enough for me and I could ski them in my early 60s but wouldn't do it now.
Gnarly drop on the first one!!!
That's the bunny hill, and those rocks are made from foam rubber. Though it does look pretty challenging.
Oh yeah!
1:22 is Burma Chutes, I love those various lines. 2:22 is Coleman's chute.
Sean Schweikert thanks!
