    I had my 3.5L oil change and they stripped the motor oil screw. Car leaked oil and I thought my engine was done. Car started to have really loud knocking sound. I did an oil change myself and then the Boise was 95% gone. But my 3.5 started to misfire really bad with vibrations. I replaced spark plugs, coils packs, egr valve, cam sensor, crank sensor, Map sensor, air temperature sensor, throttle body, injectors, coil packs signal cables and the car still having a very rough idle and at some point will stall.
    I also clean the upper intake manifold. No check engine light no code. I now believe that my rocket arms or lifters are gone. Thank you for the video.

    Where did you get your information. The plastic (orange) ring simply holds the pivot in place for assembly/disassembly. Once installed the foot/pivot which sits on the valve is held against the lifter by pressure so the missing plastic doesnt do anything at that point and WILL NOT effect performance. If the plastic falls off and eventually ends up in the oil pan it highly unlikely that it will get into the engine as the oil pump pickup has a screen. I have 2- 3.5 cars and a 4 cyl that uses essentially the same style lifter. Also the lifters are available for a pretty inexpensive price. You can knock the old ones out with a small punch, just be aware there is a small plate shaped disk above the lifter that has to be oriented properly when installing new lifter.

    hey there, isn't it much cheaper to replace just the Hydraulic Lifters rather than buying new rocker arms..I recently had the same issue with my 07 chrysler 300c 3.5L it had ticking/tapping noise and I'm still yet to decide whether to replace the arms or just the lifters which appears to be way cheaper
    ..

    • @tierricehenderson6871
      @tierricehenderson6871 Před 6 lety +1

      Tapuwa Mhlanga It's best to replace the whole rocker arm set, because I'm going through the same situation with my 2005 Chrysler 300. I did a lot of research on google and CZcams and most people was saying to replace the entire set, because you never know. I ordered mine from eBay, and it was 260$. That was cheapest I found it for on there.

    • @strattuner
      @strattuner Před 6 lety +2

      Jason bland,this is an old post but to answer your question of the oil on the rockers is from heat,oil not only lubricates it also cools the parts,the same kind of stain happens on other parts made in cast iron or steel,buy the stains really show up on the aluminum pieces easily,change your oil at 3500 mile intervals for 3 changes,then when oil pan is clean you can go to 4500 mile drops for 3 changes then back to the 3500 mile intervals,this has kept my engines clean for 48 years,i've had to take some apart and they were clean,and that's everything

Or do you think its a rod? Also if I drive it then shut the car off and try to restart it, its really hard to start or the battery is dead but its starts up great the first time. maybe a timing issue due to the bad rocker???

    Thank you my friend for the advice, so here is my question, i took over payments on a 2010 Chrysler 300 for a female friend of mine and that being said when I got the car I checked the fluids and the oil and the oil was BONE dry, I added oil rite away and I asked her how long she had ran the car with no oil, well still after a month of having the car she has not gave me a straight answer, So after about 2 days of having the car and noise appears and it really isnt a knock par say as much as it is a loud tick, I know that the fuel injections have a small tick but this is loud but it is not " Knocking" that being said after watching this video I am thinking that it is the rocker valve at the upper part of the motor, it is coming from rite under the fuel injection and from the top of the motor, I did try some lucas cause my friend recommended it but it is not help the noise, what would you think it is?? I could post a video if you need me to

    • @BuffMyRadius
      @BuffMyRadius Před 3 lety +1

      For anyone that has this question in the future, the little orange or yellow clip is just there to make assembly easier. If you put the little metal cup in place over the metal ball on the rocker arm and tighten down the rocker arm assembly it will stay in place unless you have a dead hydraulic lash adjuster.

      So they can be replaced and are a couple hundred bucks for the whole set. I ended up going to a junkyard and pulling them out of a pt cruiser with the same engine. I pulled apart several neons before I found a set that wasn't so dry rotten that they crumbled. This was on my moms little car a few years back. Good luck man. Be careful putting them back. They are called valve lash adjusters. There is an intake side and an exhaust side.
