The DAGGER & SHIELD warrior is awesome! - Dragon Age Origins

  • Using daggers as a weapon and shield warrior in Dragon Age Origins might sound ridiculous at first, but don't let that fool you. Daggers are the ultimate weapons of the best tanks in the game. They can also help you achieve peak damage, which is certainly helpful when you go against bosses and elite bosses solo!
    The dagger and shield warrior is simply awesome at everything it's supposed to do.

    Two Handed Warriors are still stronger, especially on consoles, where you can easily get enough Stamina Regeneration to keep Beyond the Veil active at all times. Displacement is better than Defense imo. The only problem is that on PC, you need Cailan's Arms and Armor to offset the stamina drain of Beyond the Veil, which railroads you into being Sword and Shield.

    • @AKisHerceg

    • @AKisHerceg
      @AKisHerceg  Před 9 měsíci +2

      @@AvengerAtIlipa No argument there. It does suck. You can reduce its duration with high physical and mental res, but two-handers are the only characters who can resist stun with Indomitable in Origins. In Awakeing every warrior can be immune to stun, knockdown and slip effects with Beyond the Veil. Which puts the Two-Handers at a disadvantage(Indomitable becomes a waste of stamina). The only reason why double weapon warriors are not painfully op in Origins is because they can be knocked down and stunned. In Awakening they are hilariously op, because Beyond the Veil eliminates both.

      An Arcane Archer can actually be the perfect tank. It can reach extremely high armor and unmatchable defense(the highest possible in the entire game). With Blood Magic, you can also draw an insane amount of aggro with Blood Wound.
      It can also deal as much damage as a normal archer would plus you can have some nice buff for the team. So kind of like a hybrid between a tank, a support, and a crowd control character.

    Hi! I cannot seem to find the items to equip the strength 38 chestpieces.
    Your starting strength is 25.
    Helm of Honnleith +2, key to the city +2, harvest festival ring +2, effort gloves (maybe?) +1, andruil's blessing (maybe?) +2.
    That is 25+9=34, still short of 4 points.
    This also means that you cannot equip heavy armor until you finish both the circle tower (andruil's blessing) and Orzammar (key to the city, effort gloves). That is, until about half of the game.
    Do you have a better +strength loadout to what I found?
    Also, what do you think of investing higher strength? Say, 30 instead of 25?
    Or using a strength 20 armor (ie. shadow of the empire or Leliana's armor from the DLC)
    Thanks for the video though, interesting build as always!

    • @AKisHerceg
      @AKisHerceg  Před rokem +2

      Shadow of the Empire gives +2 STR(only requires 20 STR) and the Reaper's Cudgel(requires 32 STR) gives +4 STR. Together they can temporary boost your STR by 6 which is more than enough to equip any heavy armor.
      Anduril's Blessing does not require you to complete the Circle questline. You can just get it and leave. Same with Orzammar. Just enter Orzammar and get all the scraps. Talk to Dulin, to have the proving door open(you don't have to commit to Harrowmont, just agree to fight for him).
      Helm of Honleath +2, Key to the City +2, Anduril's Blessing +2, Harvest Festival Ring +2. 25+8=33. Plus the Reaper's Cudgel with +4 and Shadow of the Empire with +2 so that is 39. This is if you want to min/max. Would you lose much if you would invest 2 or 3 points more into STR so that you don't have to mess around with this? The highest tier armor? If you placed all your points on dex how can you equip the highest tier armor? Even I used heavy armor instead of massive because you can’t wear massive armor unless you invest into strength. Especially at early game. At early game you should wear some decent steel heavy armor which you can loot from the bandit leader from Lothering. You absolutely have to keep your investment into strength to a minimum if you want this build to work.
