You'll see a home-built shaping attachment, a shaper head, for an amateur's milling maschine WABECO F1200. Should work with other brands, too. Fine for shaping keyways.

Hello, very nice idea.
I currently busy to design a classic shapping machine, for keyways, in order to save time one question, where did you buy the dovetail guide as you mentionned

verry neat idea , think it can be made to fit other milling machines as whell , how is the mast holding up , i can immagine its moving a bit with the pounding the machine does when entering the tool intoo the material

How do you locate/indicate the keyway in the center of the sprocket bore?

Either by a sharp eye (no kidding) or by a DTI. Another possibility is a center finder.

No, but you need only to unscrew two bolts. ..fairly easy.
