I did it. It works fine. I have been soldered it to the wall switch. The reason I didn't want to use the garage door wireless opener was because I wanted to unpair them totally. I got the Linear GD00Z-4 because sometimes my garage door opens by itself. If there is no remote paired to it the neighbors,
or anyone else will not accidentally open mine. All the homes have the same garage door opener.

Thank you for sharing. Please help. I just got my Vivint installed and my technician told me that it wasn’t compatible. That I have to buy a myQ system but idk which one. I was thinking just an add on but I honestly need some help.

Any details on what you did to fix it?

Isham Padron , I soldered wires directly to the circuit board that comes in the opener wall button.

Just moved and have an Access Master MyQ at the new house. My opener would require the additional myQ module to connect to WiFi.
Sounds like my options are either do what you did to bypass the incompatible part (which would require further questions on my part to ensure I know the right part to bypass) OR get the MyQ component to connect it to WiFi and just use the myQ app to control the garage door. I love the idea of having it consolidated in my lone Vivint app, but in the long run is it it worth it? Or should I just use the myQ app? What do you think think?

How did you add the garage sensor to your Vivint App?

Michael Maher your Vivint technician pairs it with your system. On this install, the garage door opener wasn’t compatible, so I did some soldering in order to bypass the incompatible part.

You can call or chat with them online and they will open the access for 24 hours and give you the installer code. If you have a newer system the installer info is now hidden. You can find it by hitting the "software version"

What was the incompatible part? I installed the Linear GD00Z-4 from Amazon and Vivint. The paired to the panel and tells you whether the door is open or close, but does not open or close the door.

John Williams the buttons that are on the wall have a wire going to the unit. On a regular unit, the buttons are simple, and the signal is not encrypted. On these units, the signal that goes through the wire is encrypted.

I've been looking for what equipment to buy to add this to my vivint system, but having trouble finding any details without calling Vivint...

What garage door opener do you have? If you have a myQ, I’d recommend using the myQ app and connecting your controller to WiFi if that’s an option for you.
If you need to connect to Vivint, you will want a zwave compatible opener by Linear. You will also need to get some wires soldered onto the PCB of your opener button, so you can connect them to the Linear zwave opener.
