Not true. If people would stop living like they have more money than they actually earn, it’s impossible to be one paycheck away from homeless. Poor money management skills is why people are as you say, “a heartbeat away” from disaster. When I wanted more money, I worked longer hours or got one or two extra jobs and saved that money. Thank you for doing this. I have worked in Pinellas/Pasco homeless outreach for over 30 years. I know where most of those camps are. No one wants to believe me when I say there are at least 5000-10000 uncounted homeless living in those areas. I know from first hand head counts that I observed over 5000 uncounted homeless in Pasco, and that was in 2015. It has only gotten worse since 2020.
Florida governor just fly to San Francisco to make fun of their problems.. i went to san fran recently and it’s nothing compared to what we got here in pinellas pasco polk hills and manatee towards Sarasota and lee as well. Even daytona and the keys on islands. Its a secret the state wants to hide but we’re bringing it to the light. Interstate 75 the tree areas in the median have camps too. I am wondering what these Quest Diet bars are made of ... could it possibly be the poor souls that society cannot use anymore?
I think there’s a lot more homeless in Florida than we think. I bet it’s comparable to California. A lot of them live in the woods, but so many are living in their cars too. Even in my small city, between orlando and Tampa, we have so many homeless people! I consider these people who live in their cars homeless even though they are technically sheltered. We really need affordable housing but all Florida wants to do is build resorts and mansions (and solar sidewalks for the brownie points.) God knows what else they’re doing with all our money, besides using it to help get people off the streets and out of jails. Florida does too much criminalization of homelessness to be such a great state of tourism. We have too much land sitting unused, not to be building affordable housing and transportation. Our governor is garbage. Simple.
@@floridaLiseto answer your question, homeless people are often in and out of prison, jail, and mental and medical institutions…. And that’s why you may never see the same ones twice. These people have nowhere private to do a lot of things like drink, piss, and poo, and bathe. So they’ll get arrested for indecent, or their drugs can get them arrested. Maybe they were caught sleeping on private property or even somewhere public where a random lady decided to call the police and have them removed. Perhaps they got picked up by the police because of violence. If two homeless people are scrapping and someone reports them, they could get arrested. Stealing. Usually if a homeless person disappears, it’s because they were picked up by police or are in a hospital or mental institution. Or dead. There’s that too. Homeless people die prematurely more often compared to most housed people.
Having grown up in that area. It’s good to know even as dangerous as the area can be, there are also a lot of good people out in those woods… life gets rough, everyone has a story.
People give clothing, flashlights, food and other items to the homeless in Pasco… you are witnessing how the generosity ends up. Thrown away like garbage. Used to live in North Pinellas at the line of Pasco County. Hwy 19 from Holiday to Hudson has always been depressing, once you cross the Pasco County line, but I had NO idea of all of the homeless camps! So sad and scary ... thank you for sharing. We moved back to the Midwest five years ago.

People say that California has a homeless problem. The problem is, in California, they live in the streets where people who aren't homeless live and work, so there's conflict. In Florida, they live in the woods and most people who live in Florida stay out of the woods.
It’s better not to be invisible. I grew up in San Jose CA which always has had homeless people downtown… I mean in the 80’s, 90’s…alcoholics, addicts and mentally ill. I live in Colorado now… and going back to visit family is a SHOCK! Tents along the roadway on the edge of neighbourhoods not in the downtown core. Substitute housing for people who can’t afford thousands of dollars per month rent for a small apartment. It’s crazy! You lose your job, buy a tent!
In most Western Cities, there are places to get meals, shower and charge phones. Many people need help getting paperwork filled out for disability or social security. You would be surprised at how many old people are on the street! If a mentally disabled child with an IQ of an 8 year old (and bipolar) becomes 18, they’re an adult and make decisions for themselves. Parents can’t even buy their meds. Our family has this situation and it’s horrible! We’ve become a selfish society that points our finger away from ourselves asking why don’t THEY do something?! The THEY begins with us! We are the ones who defund programs that can help!!!!

I would love to see the stats this You-tuber is saying about drug overdoses as well. You can walk anywhere in Pasco county and not have an issue, and I have been through just about every part of it. This report is like a weatherman standing in a pond, and saying the area flooded. The old closed pawn shop he shows in his video I believe has been sold, and just a few blocks up the road are huge developments, average price range 300,000 to several million . I normally would not make a comment like this, but Pasco county has really done a lot, with many " A" listed schools and colleges. You have one You-tuber like this guy who sounds like he sits and watches TV all day, and gets off his but to make a crappy video, while his mother makes him lunch, and washes his underwear. Wow you went so far to video this, we are grateful for your eyes and ears, your commentary and your commitment to exposing the truth. The thing that stands out to me is the incredible amount of clothing. It makes me feel bad if so many clothes are donated and they’re just strewn all over the ground and trashed. Ofc there’s no one good solution for that but I did notice that right away.
Sad to say, but if I dumped trash all over the area where I live, I would receive a threatening letter that I had so many days to clean it up, or I would receive a summons from the magistrate court, and the fine would be big. The city inspectors here will threaten to fine you $ 100/ day, for having your grass or weeds to high.
If you don’t have money for a hotel do you think ppl care about a daily fine?? This is the last stop before jail. A daily fine goes after food shelter and basic needs all of which they don’t have.
@SOUTHERN LIFE Regardless, the burden of clean-up ultimately falls on whomever owns these parcels of land. Much of this looked like illegal dumping rather than homeless camps. The homeless tend to accumulate actual items, along with materials that can be used for makeshift shelters. Regardless, it does reflect inaction of code enforcement and potentially raises safety and sanitation concerns.
I live in canada, there's this patch of woods along a river that I've been taking my dogs to for 10+ years for walks. So I really feel for the people that live around these areas. Sucks to have such pretty areas completely off limits because of these peoples poor life choices 😟
Ya well, you go ahead with your high & better than them, but consider for a moment how some people not only have mental health needs and developmental disorders that were never dealt with, and still have… also consider the way that society treats them. Many have problems like epilepsy and have to take meds that have so many side effects that they will often self medicate just to be able to cope with seizing all the time… and many of them come from homes where their mental health and developmental needs were neglected. You’re the epitome of the unfortunate part of society that will NEVER understand what those people have had to endure and so many of their CHOICES were taken away from them at an early age. Not to mention the abuse (mental, emotional, physical, and sexual). Seems to me like if you want to sit on your throne over there, you might lift a finger to go a serve them. Get involved. See what you can do to be of service. Instead of putting them down.
I live in New Zealand, I thought Canada had a social security Gvnt system similar to NZ's with safety nets such as unemployment benefits/wages for as long as needed, sickness benefits as long as needed & tax$ funded healthcare for all, free hospitals etc? Granted, you will not live well on the benefit but its enough to keep a roof over your head, electricity, food, schooling & all healthcare needed for yourself & children. I'm aware the US does not have the safety nets that we have but I don't understand how people in Canada can become so destitute. Is it solely an addiction problem in Canada?

There's usually a couple holdouts that brave the weather, they usually post up in the elevators. From what I know about benifits it usually goes to their addiction is my best guess (usually alcohol in my area, but other stuff is always around). When I worked at the liqour store you could tell when their cheques came in since they would get way more than usual (we called them the morning crowd since they were there every day. Man, I used to live right close to there. Know that area well. What you did was a VERY dangerous thing. Those particular camps are gang controlled. And, yes, there are armed people in them. But, no, that is not Florida's biggest homeless camp. It's just the remains of one where people were forced to leave. That area of Pasco has been low-income, riddled with crime, motorcycle gangs, street gangs, drugs, and various forms of flesh trade for many years. Then the homeless issue came on top of it. A whole large segment of that population are/were "throw away kids" right from that area that have survived in those woods for 20 yrs. The reason that "camp" you found looks so bad was there was a big bust there and they were forced evacuated in a rush. Almost 75 people. The people who stay there will be very friendly but don't cross them. You really shouldn't be doing what you did. Not a good move.

We need long term mental health hospital(s) to help people in need.
We used to have them but the liberals wanted them shut down because they felt sorry for the patients living in them and the right wingers wanted them shut them down to "supposedly" save money.. so now there's nowhere for these people to go.
Hands down the best CZcams channel covering Florida…..True Florida Specialists!
AGREE !!
Thank you, Jose for this one. Very eye opening and sad- like how you said "they have to go to sleep hungry", but you have to help yourself, and I guess these people choose addiction over basic needs. Unbelieveable how many people are living in all of those wooded areas. I live one county south in Hillsborough. Can you do the same type video down here, especially in the east side of the county? Hopefully not as bad here as it is in Pasco county. But who knows.
Urban areas are too dangerous to do this type of video specially tampa is well controlled it would be deadly to try it. Most urban camps are not easily accessible to anyone who is an outsider. I will continue to try to get more content like this but just know its dangerous. 😊
Rural areas of Pasco for sure.
Bro check Spring Hill Next, right on 19 north of the fountain nice size camps there ,,,
Yeah i see people crawling out like ants its wild
Thanks homeless for the "LEAVE NO TRACE BEHIND" motto. Litterbugs!
the larger can seamed pretty dang clean. i guess they made some rules there
I'm from Jacksonville ( Duval county) I've always been somewhat of an urban explorer and I've discovered whole villages in and around Jacksonville where ever there's woods. Also found a huge abandoned resort they had their own fully furnished rooms all set up inside nice and clean. They let me go through there but it had rough parts too. One room looked like it had a murder scene.
Yeah the tree house off Blanding and Wells
I lived in Arlington in Jacksonville . I didn’t like it. Now I live in Georgia on the top of blue ridge mountain . Best decision ever!
@Junior Mephostopholese LOL, small world. I have also lived in Arlington, Cesary Blvd to be exact. Also glad to hear you got out of there, I bet you love it in Georgia.
5:40 Yea man, the irony of this scene is astounding.
Be safe my friend
New to your channel as of today, good content brotha! I'm front Cali and yeh they squat on the streets. Was at work doing delivery for medical supplies in San Bernardino and seen a guy on the corner of Waterman and Highland around 2pm taking a crap, busy intersection and a guy was filming him while some laughed and other kept walking as if it was normal. I'm from LA and San Bernardino off Waterman is the worse areas in Cali
San bernandino is an extremes case of bad crap. welcome on board sir. I cant wait to visit cali again
Wow you went so far to video this, we are grateful for your eyes and ears, your commentary and your commitment to exposing the truth. The thing that stands out to me is the incredible amount of clothing. It makes me feel bad if so many clothes are donated and they’re just strewn all over the ground and trashed. Ofc there’s no one good solution for that but I did notice that right away.
they cant wash crap if they are homeless... so they have to change and yes theres no real solution here
It's crazy in every wooded area
Omg this is so sad; breaks my heart; I am also struggling; I hope I never end up here = Jacksonville beach Florida
Your taxes at hard work for other countries. Not where it's really needed.
I'm jealous... I want lakeside property
We could use an additional new VA Hospital in Central Florida, get the federal senators and congressman to make it happen!! Maybe 1200 bed or more!
You should check out the woods behind Set Back Bar & Whitney’s Seafood on US-19…
Will do 😁
If only the homeless would learn to pick up after themselves. 😇
Um they don't have trash bags
That darn S T O R A G E gang, they seem to be everywhere!
The government does nothing to stop them ❤
😂😂😂
Lots of mangos just south of Pasco in Pinellas, I wouldn't have thought the climate changes so fast but I'm not familiar with the area
1 mile inland is 1 degree less moving inland. example, on the beach its 45 on a cold night. ten miles inland, it will be 35
I like how these homeless camps basically have security
Sad to say, but if I dumped trash all over the area where I live, I would receive a threatening letter that I had so many days to clean it up, or I would receive a summons from the magistrate court, and the fine would be big. The city inspectors here will threaten to fine you $ 100/ day, for having your grass or weeds to high.
you also pay for a garbage bin... they dont
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Of course they don’t. That would be a waste of money. They can’t even throw their trash into the free trash bins and dumpsters.
If you don’t have money for a hotel do you think ppl care about a daily fine?? This is the last stop before jail. A daily fine goes after food shelter and basic needs all of which they don’t have.
The problem there is that they’re too high on their grass and weed!
Recently it's been taken over by local homeless alcoholics and addicts, so now it's filled with garbage, mattresses, human waste, broken glass, needles, ect. So I really feel for the people that live around these areas. Sucks to have such pretty areas completely off limits because of these peoples poor life choices 😟
thats sad, canada seams safer than USA
@@Into_the_Wild777 I getchya there, there's not much I can do in my situation. I give em food here and there when I can, chat with them while I'm out on my walks. They're good folks for the most part when they're sober. I can just empathize with the folks who complain about them as well. Multiple places I've been going to (public parks, backwoods, ect) since I was a kid I can't go to anymore, since there's so much garbage, broken glass, ect I can't really bring the dogs there anymore, as well some of those places used to be used for elementary school activities (likely not anymore). Just sucks there's not much services out there to help. I'm from a small town though so it's likely quite different than cities, especially with housing.
@@madamelebuff I have no knowledge on city life, but in my small town it's usually addiction based. Their family/friends can't handle them anymore so they get kicked out of anywhere that gives them a chance, end up in the woods or parks. It gets to -40C here in the winter so they end up finding their way to vancouver or southern ontario for the winter.
Usually they'd get a few bottles/boxes of fortified wine since it's high alcohol content and cheap). When they run out of that they resort to stealing mouth wash and vanilla extract. Sad to watch for sure. I've lived with a few alcholics over the years and it's terrible 😶
That boy scary he said let me get the crap outta here😂
That mullet OD on fent
@@lil_Marie_Red moon lake way further inland
Thanks for your comment. Its the nicest comment i have read out of all here on this video. I know well the dangers of what i do. The truth has to be known.
Still not bad as Hillsborough or Pinellas
I live in Beacon Woods I know too.
@@lil_Marie_Red He was on 29 between Hone Depot and Hudson Avenue then up 52 to Hicks and back. About 5bmiles from Moon lake
