Paulina has the ability to just destroy you with her voice, one voice, one slightly out of tune piano, and a cell phone equals pure perfection! And all with just 4 hours to learn and perform it! Absolute genius!
This is talent. Just a girl on the family piano, recorded on her phone. No autotune, no studio mixing and tweaking, nothing but talent.
This is pandemic Pau. Yes, close to helicopter pony Pau. She asked instagram what song she should do. This one won and she came back a couple hours later with …. PERFECTION.

Pau has an amazing way of reaching out and grabbing you in the feels.
This was an Instagram challenge during the pandemic. The fans picked this one for her to work up. She took about 4 hours to figure this out, then set up her phone on the family's wonderfully out of tune piano, and this is what we get. Amazing.
No wonder the piano is out of tune. Pau plays it like she plays the drums. Not a knock, she is amazing, but a bit heavy handed.

Based on her sound from early videos, I suspect the rasp is a natural component of her singing voice and she actually has to work to clean it up. Just a feeling, I could totally be wrong.

TW and Pau included speak English better than many native speakers. Pau turns 22 in a few weeks. So this was done in 2020 - that would make her 18 at the time. Pau was 10 in the Kelly Clarkson video.
All true, Dave. I think when they were talking about the "Pau Beast Mode" on the drums with her helicopter ponytail, that was their last concert before Covid lockdown, so it would have been just a month or two apart between Beast Mode and Creep.
I believe Pau turns 22 on Feb 5th of this year, If i am wrong someone will correct me.
I've noticed in some interviews if Pau can't think of the English word she tends to look to Dany for help. But they all speak English very well, and don't have a foreign accent at all.

That’s Pau’s natural voice. She has, as you said, a raspiness but yet so clean of a voice that is so special. Depending on the kind of song she’s singing you can notice it sometimes more than others.
This was a IG challenge that she did in the pandemic, so she was 18. She did a poll and this song won so had to learn it in less than half a day.
There’s is a distinctive quality to tone, pronunciation, emotion and Passion Mexican singers had throughout history.
Juan Gabriel, Jose Jose, Pedro Infante among some of the legendary artists. Know for giving the Whole spectrum of emotions to audience.
Paulina is in that mold and just scratching the massive potential her and her sisters have.

If you listen to paus speaking voice, she has a natural slight rough raspy sound. I think for her, singing clean is actually harder than letting loose. She certainly isn't tired.

Because YES! at the end of the video? Paulina was doing a live for Patreon and they asked her to play this song.. She had never played this song before, she asked to pause the Live for 2 hours and when she came back she gave this incredible and emotional interpretation... The 3 Villarreal sisters are people who bring together all the possible qualities in a human being... They are talented, dedicated, beautiful, studious, happy and fun... Extremely polite and respectful towards all people... They are a gift from God to all humanity. ..

I’ve watched once before, and pau’s voice just has the ability to pull at the heart and make you feel extreme emotions. She’s such an incredibly talented young woman as well as her sisters. I’m saying this now that they are on their way to becoming absolute LEGENDS!

When Pau sings a ballad, I always find myself wanting to curl up in the fetal position and ugly cry. This is so good. Even moreso that she learned and arranged it in less than 4 hours.

I'm 58 years old and I cry every time I hear this and her other ballads not to mention some of the entire bands other songs....Pau's voice and passion in what she is doing just smacks you right in the feels. BTW...she just won Drumeo's best rock drummer of the year for 2023!

It always gives me dewy eyes, no matter how many times I hear it; yeah Hayley Reinhardt with PMJ is pretty good but there’s one really good cover by IMY2 from Nashville, Annalise makes an outstanding job of singing it and the boys do an amazing job of covering the instrumental side. Take note of oregonlt3’s comment. Pau came up with that on the fly, from a songwriter’s perspective, by request. Just shows another scope of her talent (she has multiple scopes as the Army will laud very loudly).
Just Pau being her incredibly talented (Virtuoso) self with that natural rasp and natural vibrato that makes us all melt. If Elizabeth (@the charismatic voice) isn’t available, you could have Bethany (@thevocalyst) take a look at it.
Incidentally, THIS is the place (piano) where most of The Warning’s songs are born!

This was a Facebook Challenge. She had 3 hours to learn and perform her version of Creep. She is amazing, as is The Warning is obviously. They are doing what they were meeant to be doing at this very moment in time.
This was posted March 2020 which makes Pau 18 at the time. Elizabeth Z has not reacted to this tune, but Bethany from the Vocalyst has done a great analysis. She was a little misty-eyed as well.
My tear ducts seem to have the same sensibilities. Actually, it's kinda anytime this amazingly talented young lady cranks out a ballad. And to think she learned this and put it together in just a few hours as an Instagram challenge. You don't get there without a ton of practice. But you also don't get there without a ton of natural talent!

Sometimes you can gauge Pau’s age in a video by her various different hairstyles and/or colors if you’re a bit of a band historian. That kinda works for Dany and Ale as well.
I’m sure many know timeframes from other factors such as venue, which guitar or bass or drum kit (4 string or 5 string bass, black Manson or Rick Toone etc and pre and post drum rack) they are playing and even iconic outfits worn onstage (Dany’s butterfly shirt at Dakota Bar for example).
Ale’s different growth spurts are sometimes a clue as well…lol.

What a way to pass time when the pandemic hits, your first major tour is suspended, and you have a lot of time to kill. You do two things. You sit down and learn and record a cover of Creep. The second thing is, You and your sister go to the 'The Warning Cave', do the whole setlist that would have been their concert tour, then broadcast it over all social media. Thank you ladies. What stands out to me on this vs other people who have covered this song , is that this was a one take on her iPhone in her living room , no studio , no production , no voice pitch correction software , just a girl , her piano and a iPhone , one take .
When she went beast mode om that Kelly Clarkson song she was 10 when she did this cover she was18. Its easy to tell their age Dany will be the same age as the current year Pau will be 2 years younger and Ale will be 3 years younger than Pau (Just for your reference that way you'll always know how old they are).

If you listen to Pau talk for any length of time you'll hear that rasp occurring rather often. I'm sure Elizabeth or Lolli can explain it, but it seems to be a natural feature of her voice.
The beast mode video was exactly 1 day prior covid shutdown here in Mexico. This video is some months already in pandemic mode
I also don't know much about voice and singing - but what I do know is that in alot of home videos and vlogs where Paulina is laughing, - she laughs with a raspiness, especially when she's laughing uncontrollably
