HEADS HANDS and FEET is one of the bands that 'spoiled' me in my youth. This British band was overlooked by many in the US back in the day, but once you give them a listen, trust me, you will want to keep this great music alive and share it with your fans! Their first double-album from 1971, is loaded with amazing cuts; superb guitar licks, beautiful harmonies, and haunting lyrics, with a bit of country flavor, even some cow-bell! In fact the album features the original 'Country Boy' written by them. Start with these cuts and then start a playlist if you're convinced. But please don't bother with live performances. I would give the world for someone with your heart, Your thoughts, your feelings, and your absolute unbiased love for people! I'm a Spiritualist and very in tune to emotions, I see emotionless people walking day to day, not even knowing what they lack. There is a video by Sturgil Simpson, All Around You. I feel like the little girl that goes around witnessing all the hate people harbor, and the hate in the world, but she puts on her cape and flies around smashing all the hate with a big Golden Heart, that she found in the sand, the compass that briefly appeared on it, showed her the way. Where have all the hearts of gold gone? Let it be known, you are one! And your wife is blessed, as are you because I can only see you with someone VERY special♥️

Hey sweetie, I looked up the story behind this song and this is what I found. For me, this song has always choked me up and put a tear in my eye. Now that I’ve read the history of the song, I think I will always cry when I hear it. ‘This song is about someone who has done or said something horribly wrong, which resulted in alienating everyone around him. It's a great example of lyrical songwriting, and very much a love-it-or-hate-it song. With the opening line, "I started a joke, which started the whole world crying," followed with "I started to cry, which set the whole world laughing," the song can be heard as achingly poignant or overly sentimental, depending on your mindset.” “Robin Gibb's son played this song just after his father died from kidney failure on May 20, 2012. Robin-John Gibb told The Sun: "When he passed away we went out, they took the equipment away and we came back in. I picked up my phone and found 'I Started A Joke' on CZcams and played it. I put the phone on his chest and that was the first time I broke down. I knew that song and its lyrics were perfect for that moment. That song will always have new meaning to me now."
Wow, what an amazing and moving story. Thank you for taking time to share it here. I've always thought of this song as very special, and uniquely Robin Gibb. His son's actions that poignant day make it even more so in my mind. No other artist could ever do 'I Started a Joke' the same justice that Robin did. His voice gave it such emotion. He owned it - and always will. God bless Robin and his incredible, beautiful talent.

Yes! I remember back in the '70's, as a little four or so year old, having a huge crush on Robin, LOL. My mother loved their music and her fave was Barry. Great memories.
This was Robin’s signature song, during live performances he would receive a standing ovation from the crowd. It was also one of his personal favorites and was played this at his funeral. 🥺 💔 May he RIP.
This is Robin Gibbs Masterpiece, he's REAL spotlight moment and what a song it is. Emotionally heart shattering yet with hope at the end of the line. The Beatles never did anything even close to match this gem by The Bee Gees.
One of the saddest things you will ever see is a concert Barry did after both Robin and Maurice died. Barry sings the first verse, then Robin is shown on video. When he sings “I finally died”, it is just crushing. He was such a unique talent.
My mom introduced me to this song as a child. I'm pretty sure it made me cry. Such a great song! Each BeeGee was so damn talented. Like ABBA, I was teased for liking them but never cared! The BeeGees rocked and made music that made you feel!

If you watch the videos of the bee gees when they were really young Robin has such a bubbly joyful impish personality. In 1967 he was in a horrific train wreck 49 people were killed and 78 injured. His personality changed completely to Melancholy from then on . This song was less than a year after that accident.
Always my favorite Bee Gees song. I appreciate their disco stuff but I prefer their older stuff. How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, Massachusetts, Run To Me, Words, New York City Mining Disaster etc.
This is one I suggested. I've been listening to this for over 50 years. Still makes me tear up. The vibrato in Robin's voice is so perfect. Listen to Massachusetts next. SO HAPPY YOU LIKE IT.

Great song! Robin needed no studio help to duplicate this sound. Check out their live stuff from the end of their careers. Robin and the boys were still hitting those notes to perfection!
Robin Gibb definitely had the best voice in the Bee Gees. Flawless. POWERFUL! his vibrato was absolutely perfect. This is an old Bee Gees song which I can see that Robin re-recorded years later. Awesome job.
Robins voice in this track is captivating. I can’t think of a single artist similar to his voice. Their first #1 hit was “Massachusetts “. Robin sings lead in this track. I love his voice

You have given one of the best descriptions of this song I have ever heard. Robin's ethereal vibrato make this song so very effective. Robin requested this song be played at his own funeral and it was in 2012.

Barry sings and plays guitar...Maurice sings and plays piano/keyboards.. Robin..his beautiful voice IS his instrument! "New York Mining Disaster" is an great song. The harmonies are perfect! Thank you!✌💗🎶😁
"I fell out of bed, hurting my head, from things that I said" is a great little triplet and, being a bit a challenging to parse, really catches the attention. The image of falling out of your comfort zone and waking up the hard way to how you screwed up is good stuff.

@@remedy9648 Well, I certainly enjoyed that, and with all the different accents in the musical, arrangement. The world today is sorely Missing what we once had in abundance. Robin Gibb, the one singing, was the one most recently passed away and my favorite of the group. He was a fraternal twin of Maurice who had died earlier. He often held his hand over one ear when singing which made me believe that he may have had some kind of hearing issue. This earlier style of theirs was also among my favorite periods of their career.
I think he covered his ear so he could hear his own voice and control his pitch? Just something another commenter posted recently on another video (Nights on Broadway from the Midnight Special)....
Robin's tunes are my favorite Bee Gee songs, and I've always loved this one. For another deep Robin song from that era, check out "I've Gotta Get a Message to You."
While Barry wrote & sang most of their songs ~ Robin was an incredible performer & singer ~ There were conflicts between the two of them over who should sing lead
They performed this song many, many times live, including during the last few concerts that they did, and Robin's voice, the way he communicated so much emotion, just got better and better over the years.
I always felt Robin Gibb was the quiet one of the Bee Gees, he always seemed to allow his brothers to do the shining front stage things while he was in the background. Yes this shows his wonderful voice, also Massachusetts which also shows his vocal abilities, RIP Robin and Maurice, they left a library full of brilliant songs for us to live with. Keep Safe Keep Strong
Bee Gees reinvented themselves for every decade, as taste in music changed. Ballads in the early years, then disco, then 80s with You win again. Run to me Robin and Barry combo is beatifull too
This song reminds me of comedians that I love like Richard Pryor, John Belushi, Robin Williams, Rodney Dangerfield, Redd, Foxx, that had inner struggles that died suddenly and are deeply missed
I am 70 years young and I had the time of my life during the 70s and the disco era. You just played I Started a Joke in which Robin was the lead singer. Listen to Massachusetts. Robin was lead in this song. One of my favorites. The Bee Gees were my FAVORITES and it pleases me that so many are starting to appreciate their music.
Robin's voice will never be repeated in anyone ever again. His wife Dwina said she would hear him in the middle of the night singing and playing piano and he sounded like an angel when he sang. His mom said that he had the best voice of the 3 brothers. He did this in a concert in 1997 and he got a standing ovation for over a minute. Their early stuff was mostly Robin singing lead. The album The Best of the Bee Gees first album has this song along with other early stuff. After the disco and the falsetto era they went back to music like their early with MO and Robin singing a lot of leads. No matter how you slice it the Bee Gees were one of the best groups ever and Robin had the most beautiful voices ever.
I forgot about this song.. Robin sings another song called Massachusetts. I grew up with their music, I was 4 when this came out and I remember my mom played their music all the time. Here is the link for Massachusetts czcams.com/video/Xk9bmuncB4Q/video.html
When I heard this song waaaay back then, I was 13 and always a very emotional reactor to beautiful songs. This one always made me cry. Thanks for bringing it back!! Interesting fact: The Bee Gees didn't start out singing in that high falsetto. It came about by accident when Barry was playing around with different vocalizations thanks to their producer's suggestions. The others quickly found that it was going to be perfect for their signature sound. And as we all know, the rest is history.
I was a little kid when this came out and I remember hearing it playing on my older sisters’ record player. The melody and Robin’s voice have always stuck in my head as a reminder of my childhood years. Later, between this song and Don MacClean’s ‘Vincent’ all of my teenaged angsty musical needs were satisfied.
"Morning of my Life" is utterly gorgeous. Reggae King John Holt did a great cover. Also, "Words" which my stepdad sang to my mum to get her to marry him. He had a wonderful voice. She said yes and they are still together 47 years later. He's a wonderful man.
Robin leads a lot of their songs. He also had a solo career when the group had broken up for a time. "Massachussets"and "Bodyguard" are two of my personal favorites. that they did live in concert.Whenever he steps out to sing the audience goes crazy. His voice is soft as cotton with a natural vibratto .So good
The Bee Gees had several hits before Saturday Night Fever .. disco sent them into the world of superstardom … God bless The Bee Gees , given me many hours of joy 🥲.
Robin’s voice is so haunting in this song. Fits it so well. As impressive as Barry’s range is, Robin actually had my favorite voice of the Bee Gees. RIP to him and Mo as well as younger brother Andy.
This is my favorite Bee Gees song. I found them after this came out but before disco. I have been suggesting this song to every reviewer I watch. Thank you for doing this and for understanding the song.

They performed this song many, many times live, including during the last few concerts that they did, and Robin's voice, the way he communicated so much emotion, just got better and better over the years.
robin could go quite high with that voice. another example being his solo song (during a brief break up with his two brothers) SAVED BY THE BELL.
Run to me Robin and Barry combo is beatifull too
R.I.P. Robin ❤we miss you so much ❤and we will never forget you ❤ You will always have a speciel place in our heart ❤
This vocal gets me every time. So dang amazing.
A great song by The BeeGees! The lyrics are gut wrenching and it always brings tears to my eyes. Thanks for keeping the oldie music alive!
This is my favourite Bee Gees track. 💓💓💓 Robin's voice is sublime. The voice of an angel.
This song reminds me of comedians that I love like Richard Pryor, John Belushi, Robin Williams, Rodney Dangerfield, Redd, Foxx, that had inner struggles that died suddenly and are deeply missed
I love, love, love the Bee Gees! Please react to "I Can't See Nobody" and "Morning of My Life". I really enjoy your channel!
Yes. Both beautiful songs. Robin was all of 17 when he wrote and sang I Can't See Nobody. Truly amazing.
You're at the level where I automatically thumbs up before I see the video.
Great track dude. You have such a talent for hearing a song once and digging into the deeper meanings. Love it
Lead singer from Faith No More did a version of this and it’s beautiful.
Always loved this song. Robins voice, lyrics. everything!
I found the Bee Gees at a young age. Robin was lead singer on a lot of the early songs. Just a great story teller. Well done Jamel
I forgot about this song.. Robin sings another song called Massachusetts. I grew up with their music, I was 4 when this came out and I remember my mom played their music all the time. Here is the link for Massachusetts

The amount of pain and truth in his words and voice is hauntingly beautiful.
I've said in your other BGs reactions that Robin's voice was always my favourite 🤗💞
Robin Gibb had the most beautiful high-pitched voice. this is one of my favorite of their songs because it's almost all Robin ... RIP.
Words and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart are two of my favorite pre-disco Bee Gees songs.
His voice is soft as cotton with a natural vibratto .So good
The Bee Gees had several hits before Saturday Night Fever .. disco sent them into the world of superstardom …
God bless The Bee Gees , given me many hours of joy 🥲.
Wow. I was 14 and loving the beegees, back in 68. Sad song. His voice is so cool. Rest in peace. Melissa Ward here.
Thank you for all your hard work!!! I love this song and your videos!! ❤️
Robin’s voice is so haunting in this song. Fits it so well. As impressive as Barry’s range is, Robin actually had my favorite voice of the Bee Gees. RIP to him and Mo as well as younger brother Andy.
One of the best ......from one of the best Rock groups ever ......
This is my favorite Bee Gees song. I found them after this came out but before disco. I have been suggesting this song to every reviewer I watch. Thank you for doing this and for understanding the song.
I always liked that song a lot.
