Before they started the falsettos, they sang in their normal voices. This is Robin and so haunting. There is a lot more to the early Bee Gees.
A lot more..........for sure.
Its about the life of Jesus
@@penderyn8794 - No, it is about how we see ourselves and how others see us. Sometimes we say or do things that people misunderstand. We tell a joke and others cry. We cry and others laugh.
I've heard his voice described as "vulnerable" . However you describe it, he was amazing.
â@penderyn8794 Don't think so. Of course prefer 60s.
Robin's voice was iconic and singular. There will never be another.
Maurice once said of Robin singing this song - "that's the voice that touches your heart." How very, very true.
đŻ%
Robin sang this song from the very depths of his soul. Mesmerizing.
Just like Barry's falsetto in the 70s, Robin's constant vibrato is unique. It shouldn't work, but it just does. It creates a beautiful feeling of sensitivity and vulnerability. Stunning!!
This is such a stunningly haunting sng.Only Robin could ever do it justice.đđŹđ§
I love Robins voice. Itâs so unique. He is amazing on Massachusetts as well! I loved the early Bee Gees. That stands for âBrothers Gibb.â by the way.. the initials. âWordsâ is an amazing song with Barry singing. Their harmonies are beautiful. I also love some of their later songs as well. They were good singing separate or together. They had a younger brother Andy Gibb who recorded some songs as well. He has also died. Barry is the only surviving B.G. Some of their live songs are just amazing. Iâm not a fan of todays music either to put it mildly. Thanks for this reaction! đ
Yes I was going to suggest Massachusetts!! I really enjoy early BeeGees
Kj. Totally agree with your comment
Robin Gibbâs voice is so Ethereal. Itâs so effortless itâs beautiful & touches your soul đ
Robin is my favorite. I love his voice. Rest well Robin and Maurice. (And Andy too)
Today is 34th anniversary of Andy's death đ
They had some great hits way before the disco era!
And afterâŠ
Robin Gibb had such an amazing voice........It's a real treat whenever he sings lead. They had a lot amazing songs prior to the disco era.
Robin's masterpiece...a favorite of mine all my life
I am a huge fan of the early BeeGees. Love to see Robin shine in the early days
And Robin shone later in songs like "Bodyguard" and "When he's gone".
YES!!! These are the BeeGees that I fell in love with!
Love this song - Robin's vocals are amazing!
There's nothing else to say that hasn't been said already. They were (and still are) the best of the best on so many levels!!! God blessed us with Robin, Barry, Maurice and Andy Gibb.
So poetic - love Robin's voice; so much talent in one family!!
TO LOVE SOMEBODY is a great classic by them
Robin was the best voice. He sang this and Massachusetts which is another 60s BeeGees song. Also How Do You Mend a Broken heart, Lonely Days Lonely Nights written by Barry about their breakup for about a year in 1970.
New York Mining Disaster, from the 60s
I've Gotta Get a Message to You about a guy on death row. Run to Me from 1972 was their last hit until 1975. They changed styles 60s then 70s we all know. Because there was a strong negative reaction to disco the BeeGees wrote music and produced albums in the 80s for a bunch of stars. They came back after their brother Andy died in 1988 with the Album was titled One. I like their later stuff the most.
Gotta get a message to you! Is one of my all time favorite early BeeGees. Hope the Bros react to that gem!!!
@@nelerhabarber5602Lonely Days Was written about the break up. In an article dated Sept 20 2021 in Showbiz Cheat sheet. The article says that Barry said that about 2 years after the Bee Gees broke up Robin came to see him Gibb said "Lonely Days is about how we felt when we were apart and How Do You Mend a Broken Heart is how felt about coming back together. So while we weren't saying these things to each other, they were writing about it." I've also seen them in interviews saying the same thing.
Lonely Days lonely nights...where would I be Without My Woman. Barry was living with Linda...he was lonely for the group but he survived be a use of her. I'm sure of what I'm writing
@@nelerhabarber5602 Theres no link here and I wouldn't so it. In the final analysis Ive seen Barry contradicy himself so I'll take your word thats what you saw. The most important thing is they are great and it seems we both like them. Apologies for being stubborn and best wishes to you and your musical adventures.
Lonely Days and How do you mend a broken heart weâre written by Barry and Robin and then Maurice came up with the musical arrangement. They have said so in every interview they had because they all ask the same questions. They were only broken up about Eighteen months according to the guys. 8:33
I like the 60s stuff the most.
This is the Bee Gees I grew up with. They wrote great songs that had a certain feel and their voices were amazing. I'm not a fan of the disco-type stuff, but even though I don't care for that you can still see the talent coming through. For other great early stuff check out New York Mining Disaster, Words, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, Lonely Days, To Love Somebody, I've Gotta Get A Message To You, all great songs you'll definitely appreciate.
I love all the Bee Gees' music... 60's and later. One of my favorites is "Run to Me".
Robin Gibb's voice is wonderful !!
Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina đŠđ·đŠđ·
The early Bee gees were the real thing. ALL their older music is beautiful.
This became Robinâs solo spotlight song in concerts, and WORDS is Barryâs. TO LOVE SOMEBODY is probably their most covered song, and MASSACHUSETTS and FANNY BE TENDER have awesome harmonies. Thanks for reacting!
It's great that you have ears for so many different genres and can appreciate them all, love that about you guys
I love the 60's Bee Gees, I love all the various decades (sounds) of them. They were able to change and adapt to the times and still remain relevant and iconic...they still retained their sound. Robin did a lot of lead in the 60's. He has such a unique voice. They recorded clear up into the 2000's until Mo's death. There is a lot of music to choose from. They wrote over 1,000 songs and also wrote and produced for other artists. They span 1958 through the 2000's.
This song is timeless, down through the years will always make itâs mark!
Hello bros!!! I have been into these guys lately! Donât they sound like Angels sent down to Bless our đâs? They are absolutely the best harmonizing Iâve ever heard. Rock on bros!!ÂĄ and I believe Robin GIBB is the singer in this song.
Yes, it's Robin.
Watch the Official Video on CZcams of "Alone" and you see constant images of their home movies performing from 7 years old on stage.
Rebecca if you watch the Official Video on CZcams of "Alone" and you see constant images of their home movies performing from 7 years old on stage
This is definitely, my man, Robin! His voice is too unique, and easily recognized.
Oh, this is very familiar, I remember the Bee Gees so well from the 1960s, this was the kind of songs they were singing then and this particular song is from 1968. They were on Top of the Pops loads of times in the UK, with songs like Massachusetts, Words, I've Gotta Get A Message To You and To Love Somebody. These were the Bee Gees songs I grew up with back then, so different to their later disco sound. I do like their disco music but I've got a soft spot for their 60s songs! Thanks so much for reacting to this early Bee Gees song, guys, I enjoyed hearing it again very much, Robin Gibb's vocals are so good. Loved your reaction, take care and all the best.
My favorite Bee-Gees are 60âs-70âs songs, from them. âHow Can You Mend a Broken Heartâ â€ïž
I grew up with this great group. They wrote all their own music for themselves & others. Love their early music especially 60's-70's. Barry has a great falsetto voice. You are hearing Robin Gibb's voice in this song "I Started A Joke" from 1968. Some of their other early hits were "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody", "Holiday", "Massachusetts", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "Words", "The Singer Sang His Song", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "Lonely Days", "Melody Fair", "First of May", "Give Your Best", "Lamplight" etc.
Guys if you want to see a great version of this live, check out 1989 Melbourne, the One for Australia concert. He got a huge standing ovation that went on. Barry always turns his back to the audience and stands without the rest of the band during this song. He said it was always supposed to be just about Robin's voice.
Pre-disco BeeGees were one of my favorite ballads bands/singer-songwriters ever. They were incredible, and had been writing and singing/recording their own songs since they were 12 & 9 years old.
I love the Bee Geez in the 60's and watched them grow as artist......you guys should react to "đFanny Be Tender" by the Bee Gees
Loved Robinâs voice! Bee gees awesome in 80âs 90âs and 2000âs. Please react to Fanny be Tender!
Actually amazing from 60's,
Hit huge 70's, 80's
Huuuge in the 70âs
This song, by Robin, goes deeper than everyone thinks. I was told the history of the song. Noone would believe it.
So tell usâŠ
Robinâs voice was pure magic.
They've had many good songs over the years [decades] but I prefer their 60's sound. Please give a listen to 'First of May' or 'New York Mining Disaster 1941' next.
Yes, me too
@@karenj3611 I'm so old :)...I used to play these on a record player at house parties ...LOL
New York Mining Disaster might be my favourite Bee Gees song.
You guys are so open to music of many genres! Very refreshing! Thank you for a memorable reaction!!
The Bee Gees are truly brilliant and voices and harmony are so incredible. They have done so many brilliant songs and will never be forgotten. I enjoyed your reaction thank you very much
Oh man. This is such a gorgeous song albeit super sad. I love their early stuff. Hey - any they do too.
The early songs from Bee Gees are so rare and beautiful. Thanks for this video Bros!!!
One of my very favorite Bee Gee songs â„ïž
Robin gave a master class in vibrato in this song, it is what gives it the melancholic feel...
So many great songs of theirs from the 60's.
Bee Gees- Love So Right, Massachusetts (Live In Australia 1989) , Alone , You Should Be Dancing ( Spirits Tour 1979).
Bros! Bee Gees 1st Album is a goldmine! Every song so uniqueâŠ. Check out: I Canât See Nobody, New York Mining Disaster of 1941, Holiday, To Love Somebody. Great comments from both of you about âwhat drives changeâ within these bands. Yes, in the early days of Beatlemania is was more about âwhat kind of shirt do you wearâ when you couldnât hear the music over the screams. So many things drove change within every band. I like when you are hearing each other and bring the points home. Good stuff guys!
Robin always had a very distinctive voice. Even the brothers don't sound like Robin. I can get confused over whether i'm hearing Barry or Andy, but you can always identify Robin.
thanks so much, bros -- this is Robin! (big brother Barry was usually the "lead" singer) he sang this at eighteen! I love him the best -- !!
Thatâs the wonderful Robin, his voice is hauntingly beautiful đ€© he has a very unique personality and voice, amazing đ€©
Yea, Robin singing leaf. Love my Bee Gees forever. RIP brothers.
I'm glad you loved it. I love both iterations of the BeeGees
The 60's Bee Gees are my favorite because it wasn't all falsetto like the 70's disco era. The falsetto could get monotonous after a while
No, that's Robin Gibb singing
The Bee Gees were remarkable, Robins voice just stunning. đ
A haunting vibrato by Robin Gibb.
Hi guys,
The beegees are from every time from the 60's to the last record they recorded they are stunning and they have make the most beautiful songs of all times in every era thank you for react to this.
Greetings
There is NOTHING like a good TENOR!!!
Another number that featured Robin was Winds of Change, first Bee Gees song I ever heard in around 1975.
Great to hear the bee gees again on your channel. Love this group and love this song
Born in 1954, they've got me in 1968 with their songs 'New York Mining Desaster 1941' and 'To Love Somebody'. Began to buy every single and album all over their long lasting career, up to 2001.
And they always had very different sounds, so they went into nearly every style, music has to offer. If you're interested, check'em out with 'Every Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You', 'Lemons Never Forget', 'The Change Is Made', 'The Earnest Of Being George', 'Odessa', 'Black Diamond' and 'Marley Purt Drive'. Believe me, that would be a rollercoaster-ride of it's own.
Hey "X", you're just a baby, LOL!
This is Robin Gibb singing solo with backup from Barry and maurice
Patrick you have beautiful tone and I always enjoy hearing you imitate certain parts of songs during your reactions. Do you consider yourself a singer? I really want to hear you sing full on. I think youâd be really good! Anyway. Love watching your reactions. All the best to you and your brother.
I love the beegees thats why I react to them also
I just bought a tee shirt from Barry Gibb web site. It is printed 64 years of music and still writing!!! What other artist or band can say that? They are the best .
Early Bee Gees are fabulous! I suggest Massachusetts, Lonely Days and Gotta Get a Message to You
This song touches the very depths of my soul.
Just great, I loved them during this Era, a favorite band.
This is the first song that introduced us to the BeeGees, and it's still one of my favorites. So heartfelt and emotional đą
Itâs funny you say itâs very different Bee Gees. For those of us who listened to them from the beginning, this is quintessential Bee Gees.
Absolutely!
Yup!
I agree Susie and Janet!
Genuine talented and incomparable Bee Gees. Nobody can surpass them in terms of voices and style. A true legends
Loved 60s Bee Gees.Listen to "Massachusetts" , "Gotta Get A Message To You", "Words". They changed in the 70s to keep up with the Disco sound.
Yeah. Right on. They were so different before disco got themđ
RIP Robin đ
âRobin Gibb told The Mail On Sunday November 1, 2009: "This is a very spiritual song. The listeners have to interpret it themselves - trying to explain it would detract from the song."
MĂșsica linda demais! Voz Ășnica de Robin Gibb! Amo os Bee Gees!â€â€â€â€â€â€đđđđđđđđđđđ§đ·đ§đ·
In 1975 I saw them live when I was in 1st year at the University of Waterloo. They were on a tour promoting Main Course, but how they ended up at UW's PAC I have no idea.
You should check out the bee gees when they were kids from 1960 Time is passing by
Been waiting for your reaction to this!!!
"Fanny Be Tender" is transitional between thier two eras. Very good R&B track
They were awesome from a young age, just had a different style then when they became known for the falsetto voices in the disco era. They were adapting styles for the times, and slayed it, became the kings of disco.
YES!!!! R.I.P.
One of Robin Gibb sons sang this at his funeral. Such a beautiful song.
Barry always said that Robin had the best voice of the three.
Please guys, react "Shadow dancing " by Andy Gibb ,the youngest of the Bigg brothers.
Greetings!! đŠđ·đŠđ·
Absolutely love this song ,,an u George are so handsome
Loved it all! 50âs thru now!
One of Robin's best solo preformances!!!
This is the very first song I heard on the radio from the bee gees in the 60's. Loved them ever since.
Been a while since I've heard this... Niiiice!!! Even more than that, never knew it was the Bee Gees... Wow!!!
Thats Robin singing not Barry
179th....ahh yes - this song can really depress you if you're depressed....The BeeGees were Amazing! Robin Leads this song.....
One member of Bee Gees, called Maurice Gibb, wrote one beautiful song called I've Come Back. This song is similar a Dear Prudence of The Beatles.
Robin, lead vocal
Robin has the most angelic voice. Barry was always the front man from the 70s on. Robin was so underrated then. The words of this song hits hard.
This song is ahead of it's time and speaks to an internet age that come well after this came out, where people post a edgy jokes online only to find out eventually the joke is on them. It's like an online bully confession song.
I love when Patric joins in, makes me smile every time
I love it so much also đđŒ đ„°
Robin wrote this song and sang it alone.
In my opinion Robins voice is like an Angel. NOONE can sing with as much emotion as Robin. You need to watch him sing this to get the full effect! Makes me tear up.
Yes! 1989 Melbourne concert.
@@Zlata1313 Definitely a must!
I remember hearing this at my grandmother's house all the time! Its so old! Pre disco.
This was different than what you are used hearing, is because Barry is not singing lead like he usually does. This is Robin, the clean-shaven twin brother. And it was before disco, as well.
It WAS "Barry Gibb's different brother" who often sang lead. Barry wasn't the only singer in the band. All three could sing beautifully and all three composed .There are NOT dozens of covers of this song...NO WAY...NOBODY could emulate Robin Gibb's voice so few even tried. Barry said this was Robin's song and nobody else could sing it, even him.
