  • Probably one of my all time favourite pothos varieties. I means those leaves are just awesome.
    I know that some people do struggle to keep this one happy as it has a tendency towards root rot.
    So I thought I would share what I do for mine to keep it happy and growing large

    I’ve had my manjula a really long time and I feel like mine lives off of intense neglect.. I forget to water it a month or two and i have it in a semi-low light spot it’s definitely about maybe 10 feet away from a window and ever since it been far from intense light and gets bone dry it’s never yellow or dropped a leaf or droop. I love it and accidentally give it great care. It’s just literally that plant you can honestly forget about and it will thrive

    I got the Manjula pothos last year and it was labelled as Happy leaf. I found this plant very slow growing and prone to brown patches, unlike Devils ivy or Golden pothos which I've grown for decades. I've got fed up with it now but after seeing yours I might try and rescue it and try it in pon. Thankyou for sharing this info, new subscriber here 😊

    That’s a great looking manjula! You’re right about it being a slow grower. I’ve had mine almost a year now. Thankfully it started growing faster when it established on its moss pole.

    Really appreciate this information! I bought mine and it was labeled as a low light plant, so of course I had it in a room that had a west facing window but trees outside. So it was getting dappled light I would say. Anyways now I’m dealing with root rot and it’s very droopy and I’m worried about it 😹

    I was recently sold a majula pothos as a Njoy pothos too. Interesting thing is that the pot has two plants in it. One manjula and one Njoy ! So I actually got the manjula pothos for free 😄

    Don't know how you popped up but so glad you did. Manjula I love mine. No matter how many times she keeps getting root rot. Ugh. I'll follow your recommendations. Hopefully this will help. Thank you. ❤🌱❤❤🌱 subscribed.

    Love your video. You shared some useful tips here. I just started growing manjula, and so far the leaves are small & not growing healthily. I want to put my manjula in a bowl of water, will that be ok? Any advise? Thank you..

    soil is completely fine but like you say: let it go completely dry (but dont overdo it) and use an aroid mix. No problems so far. Mine also grows normal to fast like my other epi.

    When you say “bone dry”, like for how long? This makes me twitch just thinking about it. But mine are also slow growers and I’m thinking it’s bc I water too often.

    Manjula is probably one of the only plants i've experienced root rot on, that i've noticed anyway and I have like 100 plants😅 I took two cutting and put one in soil and one in something similar to pon and both are growing really slow but i'm not giving them the best lighting anyway.

  • @plantylittlewoman
    @plantylittlewoman Před 2 lety +3

    Does pon work better? Could it be that you've had root rot because you let it dry out that well before you water? I've learned that dryed-out roots that get moist again are so much more prone to rot. And I wonder if the pon will keep the roots slightly damp all the time if that could be the cure for the difficulties you have had in soil. I'm a soil person, so I wonder if a really airy soil mix (like the ones we use for anthuriums) would do the trick? =)

      @Houseplantygoodness  Před 2 lety +2

      Great points well made 😊 the original plant is already been in a light airy soil mix and currently trying to grow some propagates in Pon so I will let you know how it goes 😊
