Livin for how Mark laughs at all the Tom clips and Tom's dumb jokes.

Mark singing along with Boxcar Racer really warms my heart ❤️
same man, a tear just dropped from my eye... AND THEY'RE REUNITEING!!!!!
@@ItsJuuj97 Reunetaieng*
@12Daniel34 you're both wrong lmao. Reuniting***
When did he do that? I missed it 😅
@@johnofark @5:18
Mark don't ever be sorry for pausing, we love hearing your stories.
3:45 "there used to be this- there's a station called MTV & they used to play a lot of music videos."
Damn that one hurt.
Yeah, now it’s just mediocre
I like to think it's less about how old we are now, and more about how little MTV gave a shit about music
@@verzure those two are basically the same.
I was looking for a comment like this. Yeah this one stung. I still can’t wrap my head around the fact he has to explain that to people. I’m 30 now and it’s a shame how much mtv had downgraded. I’m glad we lived in the time of music television and radio.
Back when it was about music, good times
Release the demo sessions for this album 🤞
Yessssss
That would be incredible.
They may have burned in the universal fire so that might not be possible
Demos don’t exist. They were demo-ing at the same time as recording and writing the songs. It’s wasn’t done in discrete chunks like the previous albums.
If you’re a fan of blink, green day, sum 41 etc. I would really appreciate it if you could take the time to check out my bands new demo. Pop punk from the UK!

You can tell the guys really loved Jerry Finn. You can see it written allover Mark's face how much he misses the guy.
@42:51 when mark cracks up equally as hard 17 years later from the same Tom joke as he did in the documentary. Hilarious.
Awesome moment. So stoked that blink is back!!
Mark and Tom are the love story that will never die.
lol his laugh has never changed ❤
And wholesome. Absolutely
3:22 that smile creeping up Mark's face when Tom's on vocals it'S so sweet
AW
The fact that you can remember a lick from a track that never made it to an album blows my mind, let alone lyrics. Finish "Punk Kid"!!!
Hopefully they'll revisit and release it for their upcoming reunion album
7:35 Tom is totally playing the riff from Up All Night off of Neighborhoods!
100%! Crazy that he held onto that for at least 8 years.
We know, Mark confirmed it in the video lmfao
11:50. When Tom says, "I'm not feeling any of the shit that I'm doing," I felt that. Anyone who's ever tried writing a song felt that.
I write music as a hobby and feel that way every few months until a new inspiration hits me, but I can't imagine being in an actual band on a deadline to finish an album and having that feeling and the stress that would come with it.
@@mastod0n1if you just write all of the time when it comes time it’ll just come
Just write even if it sucks
'what the hell look am I rocking back then?' he says with the current strangest haircut ever
EDIT: can't wait for Mark to be rocking that signature look again one day real soon - sending love to the Hoppus fam
He looks like a pineapple lol
Lol
He just should go bald
He actually looks really good in the clip he's talking about too.
18:56 No joke I just skipped to this part in the video as I was reading this XD
Coming back after watching them at Coachella…god it’s good to have them all back together❤️
I like how he said, "I will call Tom but not for your amusement." I say call Scott Raynor!
Mark just seems like the nicest guy ever
I know.
he is
my favourite part of the actual physical copy of the album was the little tidbits of info in the artwork on how each song was recorded. I remember going in my room after school and playing the record and looking through the artwork simultaneously.
I know exactly what you mean. I just picked up the Untitled record on vinyl yesterday and the inside has all those little notes nice and big on the inside.
My favourite Blink album by far. It was such a step forward in terms of experimentation, songwriting, and emotional maturity, and it's one of those records you can just put on and let play all the way through without skipping any songs.
that record is like one of the best in my opinion. and Jerry Finn was a hell of a good producer. RIP
Like imagine. When mark said "There it is, that was the death of punk kid" I think it is crazy having a demo of a really great song and the seeing LIFE footage of it being forgotten and just briefly remembered 20 years later. Thats crazy core
"THE BIRTH OF THE YEAD!"
Hopefully after MGK yead will be forever in the file 🗄️🗃️
@@joshuagillotte8218 Laterally who
lagertermately who though
Tom was actually doing the yead way before 03 tho lol but that was funny lol
Must be the weirdest thing when your friendship becomes a business. Funny looking back nearly 20 years and as an adult seeing human dudes and not just blink 182. You the man Mark thanks for aw the tunes and being a stand up dude.
42:51 Tom being Tom to this day….makes Mark cry with laughter❤️❤️🤣
That high five he tries to pass to a puzzled Mark always gets to me.
5:18 Mark singing 'I Feel So'
when you're in a band and your mate have another project you support him :3
@@SethWill07 Wasn't Mark very angry at that time lol
@@SethWill07 He hated BCR and it was the reason why they broke up the first time. So no he didnt support it. But maybe now he realizes that he shouldnt have been so mad about it.
@@JanoyCresva I guess this is growing up
@@JanoyCresva but he sang elevator
This was really cool for Mark to do. I remember being a teenager when these videos were available to see, there is so much more footage than what was shown, and as a young musician being able to watch one of my favorite bands, it meant so much. Now to sit here much older and to watch this footage again with Mark... is actually so cool.
I used to watch these kind of videos on repeat. Will always hold a very special place in my yeart. If you’re a fan of blink, green day, sum 41 etc. I would really appreciate it if you could take the time to check out my bands new demo. Pop punk from the UK!

Bro. Totally feel you. I remember watching those 1 or 2 minute snippits over and over again.
This is seriously one of the best examples of why the Internet is so important nowadays.
To be able to have this level of insight into the making of one of the most impactful albums of the 2000s and one that arguably changed the scene forever by one of it's creators is just marvelous! Already loved the MTV special before and I love it even more now, thank you Mark for this.
I never knew you wrote the words for the chorus of "I Miss You". I love that line, so heartbrakingly beautiful 😊🙏🏾💖
2003: Dollar bill tour
2023: Thousand dollar bill tour
I remember having all blink albums in 2003. I had no internet, no idea there was a new one in the making. I was watching MTV back then and suddenly feeling this popped up. I remember going absolutely CRAZY the first time i heared it. I was, and still am, completely WILD about this album, by now I know all the lyrics by heart. I've always been a blink kid, eventhough people sometimes judged me for that. I never changed my love for your music because of other people's opinion. I picked up the bass and started a stupid punkband in my little hometown of Brugge - Belgium. This album got me through some realy hard times. By the time I got internet, I watched this documentary at least a1000 times back in the day. Back from the day I was 13y.o. wore baggy pants and weird looking shirts with wacky hairdresses. My bass is still standing next to me in the living room, I'am about to be a father myself any minute now. I want to thank you Mark, for passing all the laughs, all the chills, all the vibes, all that magical california feeling straight back to Belgium. You're the best!! BLINK 182 FOR EVER
Ik loop gemakkelijk verloren in Brugge ze
felt this one!
Another belgian blink kid here ! Imagine me and one of my friend being the only 2 idiots wearing baggy shorts and white socks pulled up high with vans and nobody getting it except us.
I truly enjoy the fact that White pulled up socks are finally a thing for the youngsters now in the 2020's. I have the feeling that pop punk is coming back. Who knows... my newborn daughter might go through the next phase of poppunk music.
I remember downloading all the Blink albums in 2003. Thank you, Limewire.
would love to see Tom's reaction to this documentary too, hearing insight from both mark and tom would be so awesome
I would love to watch a live stream of Mark reacting to the Urethra Chronicles...
12:28 I feel like parts of Punk Kid became Here’s Your Letter. The notes and melody are in there, just not there pattern wise. The first part of the chorus gets played right before “the camel’s hump” gets a beat down
Damn this makes me miss old mtv.. Blink will always have a special place in my heart. Fucking legends..
Shit man, I remember high school and listening to your albums non-stop for years.
This is gold mark. Praying for you. This shit you guys did back then got me through some tough times. Thank you.
Can't wait for the urethra chronicles!
This video is unbelievably cool - I remember being in high school waiting all year for this record to be released and watching the studio clips slowly release as it progressed. I bought the physical CD the day it was a released when I was 16 - I now have the vinyl framed and hanging in my apartment. A masterpiece of an album and so cool to hear Mark look back on it all these years later.
My favourite Blink album and I love this documentary. Thanks for the watch-a-long Mark!
Stay strong out there - from one person to another .
Thank you for this inside appreciation of the doc and all the great music!
This is my favourite video and it was so fun to watch on your Twitch 😂
Thank you for uploading it to CZcams! I look forward to more of the videos that’ll be added here
Glad to see all this stuff. The work that you've done in blink 182 is very big and impressive and it's cool to allow us to see more anecdote like this. It remember me the "Tale from beneath your mom" book but for Untitled ! Thanks you for this video !
Thank you Mark, for being awesome. I remember watching this when it aired. this album still means a lot to me to this day, all your guys music does. I follow all the branches of the Blink tree. Keep being awesome man!
I’ve watched this and a few other Blink documentary’s over the years, it’s cool to hear more about the back story from you Mark 🤟
We really enjoy this! We need more content like this Mark! 🤟🏽
Fun Fact: At 27:01 you can see one of the Prototypes for Toms ES-333 with an Orange Stripe and Headstock instead of the Creme stripe with Natural Headstock
God I needed this so much. This doc has been such a huge source of inspiration
Hey Mark, thanks for doing this was fun to watch. It was cool to hear your insights and recollections 👍
Mark, Im loving that you are watching this and reacting right along with us. Thanks for doing this! Your music has inspired me for years! Im 47, and have been playing guitar for over 30 years now. ill never grow up.
Wow, thank you, Mark. Much love ❤️
Hey Mark! Loved this video! Keep making awesome music! Im so excited for the next album!
As an amateur musician and long-time blink fan you have no idea how valuable watching this was for me, since this was the album that introduced me to blink. On top of that, having your commentary and live reactions was incredible. I had the best time watching this along with the guys from Discord. Thanks so much for everything you've done.
... and it was one my my favourite albums ever made. I for one appreciated all the effort from all involved.
You guys are fucking legends. You've been my favorite band for 25 years. Travis inspired me to learn drums. My buddy got a pink bass because of you :)
Best blink album was the Untitled I can't even count how many times I played that CD on Loop
Hands down. Just listened it twice today.
you never get old. im really happy yo know you´re doing all right. we love you my man.
Self-titled/Untitled is my favorite album you guys ever put out. It came out when I was going through a lot of shit in my life and it helped me through it all. Stockholm Syndrome will forever be my favorite Blink song
Hey Mark, I really enjoyed this! I would love to see more of this kind of stuff if you were thinking of doing more!
Thank you very for making this mark. The stories make it so much better.
This is so cool.
Guys...
This is so damn cool.
Who would have thought we'd ever get a commentary on this.
We love you Mark! Keep using a pick!
Te amamos Mark, desde Buenos Aires, Argentina. I love you Mark, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Definitely need more of these! Always been a fan since the 90s man, would love to link up. Glad you are doing well.
This is such a treat. Love this album so much
I remember watching the webcams from the recording house during my breaks at school, and then caught you guys in Glasgow and then my home town of Newcastle. Met you after a Plus 44 gig too in Newcastle, which was an incredible experience for a long time fan. Sincerely, thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this!!! I’ve missed you sooooo much!!!
I never had MTV growing up so that was bad ass to watch w the commentary w you modern day. I purchased “untitled” a few different times because it would get scratched. Blink 182 is partially responsible for me being who I am and I just love you guys so much and appreciate the hard work.
I wish there was a documentary like this for every one of their albums
I have every blink-182° Album, on CD, and I'm damn proud of it! Even though I don't listen to them on CD anymore, I still make sure I purchase and personally own a copy of my favourite bands music! I remember me amd my friends watching this Documentary so many times along with the Urethra Chronicles over and over when I was learning bass, singing and starting our band AWOL-Active, it motivated us so so so much! I noticed Mark has so much love for Tom and his jokes still, and laughs so much, you can tell the bands ups and downs never effected their true friendship. Also, big respects to him shutting down the call tom requests for their amusement. Love you Mark 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you soooo much for recording this
Thank you mark and blink for this album, it means so much to me and so many. I still remember the red cd player I had when I bought the album. It’s a timeless piece of music.
Asthenia is my favorite song on the album too, Mark. Love you guys
Still an epic life-companion of an album. It's been there for me through all kinds of sadness and happiness, time after time. What a nice creation. I will always be greatful for this one. 💗
Mark, this is awesome. Thanks for all the fantastic insights.
It's so cool to get to see you re-live these memories. For us you guys are entertainers that we love but most people don't take into account that this is your lives you share with us. These are your memories not just some thing that was made for tv. I love seeing you experience these things again, things you probably thought you might never see again. It's great stuff.
Man watching Mark review this was a thing of beauty. Would love to see some of him watching the Urethra Chronicles to hear more Enema and TOYPAJ memories!
I loved when bands used to have In The Studio documentaries and videos, not just on MTV but so many CDs you bought you could get a "deluxe edition" with Making Of footage on a bonus DVD. It is so cool to get to see someone almost 20 years later looking back on this footage and giving even more information on that time period. I wish Mark (or anyone from any band, really) would do this with more footage from previous albums! This is truly one of my favorite albums of all time and it's fascinating to see any part of what went in to the record.
Sadly it seems that all went away with cds, but at the same time we have CZcams now. You can see countless footage of bands or artists whenever wherever so I guess it evens out. It was just cooler and nostalgic when you actually got a separate little movie with the cd of your favorite bands.
I just saw this show 2 times and finding this with the commentary is so awesome and nostalgic man. 2003 feels for me like 5 years ago but goddamn is already almost 20 years 😪
man that was so cool to watch along side you. the commentary and little inside stories were amazing to hear
Mark mate this means a lot to be able to see this in this way. Thank you.
Awesome video, hope to see more in the future Mark! Much love
Man... I can only imagine how much it hurts to see Jerry Finn in these old videos.. It hurts me and I didnt even know the dude. He was essentially the 4th member of the band and a HUGE reason why they (amongst many other big time bands) were so successful. Rest Easy, Jerry Finn.. life is so precious, man.. dont sweat the small stuff and love as much as possible because thats all that truly matters.
Always loved the fun that came along with your music... Posted Adams Song today to celebrate the end of your chemo. You have made me laugh and also rock out many times over the years....
Coming back after the show in Pittsburgh and had to watch this. Fuck I love these guys so much. This band is my lifeline, thank you guys so much!
Travis did an amazing job on helping write the songs the drummer keeps everything moving if you have a limited drummer you will eventually hit a brick wall.
when I was in high school you were an idol! And now that I'm in the doctorate you still are! Keep being that inspired person! Big hug from Brazil!
Watching this gets me more and more pumped to see Blink in Tampa next year.. I can't wait!
This was awesome! Thanks Mark!
Good old times guys !. Feels like it was a year ago , great vid Mark !
This is great, thanks for doing this!
After the band heard the demo in terms of chords, I think “Punk Kid” evolved to “Here’s your letter” somehow. And they saw potential in that song.
What a fucking amazing album you guys made, Thank you guys for being you! From the bottom of my heart
@markhoppus THIS ALBUM AT 14 BROKE ME, SOOO DEEP AND EMOTIONAL FOR BLINK! I'M LOST WTHOUT YOU MAKES ME CRY ADORED IT AND I SEEN YOU IN 2004 AT 14 TOO THE FIRST TIME. ALL OF THIS IS MY OTHER FAVE AND VIOLENCE
Mark-you need to do more of these vids providing commentary and strumming your guitar. I can tell you enjoy it and your audience does too. Hope you come thru!
Holy shit! 'Up All Night' from Neighborhoods was written back in 2003 and they recycled it?? at 7:32
Top tier content Mark! 🖤🤘🏻
Listened to blink and boxcar a lot as a kid (10 yrs old in 2004), and having a sort of rediscovery of the music and the band mates lately. Watching this is amazing
48:28 Mark watching himself watch himself
This is amazing!! Fantastic to watch.
i always appreciate Mark going over the gear
hey Mark! I'm 12 and I'm a huge fan and I love your videos and blink-182 as a whole. I am collecting all of the blink-182 cd's and they are all awesome! congrats on the reunion! good luck Mark! enjoy the tour! (I sadly cant be there :( but, its ok)
Love you mark! Stay strong in my prayers! Thinking about you and your family everyday man
