Just been reading this new story about the PL spend cap (check bbc sport), would be really interested to hear your thoughts especially if you could get that FFP expert on to discuss. I was quite surprised to see Villa vote against it (only club along side United and city to do so), to my mind it would work in our favour so would be fascinating to try to understand the rationale of the club. The transition from premier league survival to potentially CL is purely mind boggling, I’m kinda just riding the crest of a wave waiting to wake up, it’s purely amazing and I hope if we grab CL football that we do well within it, though for us to be real contenders we will need to add, and given ffp this will prove difficult, but we shall see and if anybody can do it it’s Emery UTV
I try to be positive but with our schedule and injuries (Olsen concedes 2-3 every time he plays, no Tielemans or Zaniolo, Bailey injured?, Diaby out of form) I’m not sure we’ll get another point. I don’t even want to think about the cup semi. The only other thing to mention ref Spurs is they’ve lost Udogue and they’ve not been good away recently.
I admit that wrote off our chances at the start of the season. Didnt expect Man U to take so many steps backwards, for Poch to struggle to put together the jigsaw pieces at Chelsea, and Newcastle to not still be strong. Then losing Buendia, as well as the opening day defeat and loss of Mings, missing JJ and Moreno for so long, but we just quietly went about our business. I thought we were done when we lost to United with the loss of Kamara, then we still hung on in there. Same as when we lost at home to Spurs. Even if we dont make it, weve done so well to be in this position at this stage. Wont be happy till its confirmed, but im already thinking that Spurs wont get more than 67 themselves. Can see them losing to Liverpool and City, getting a draw and two wins. I know its wishful thinking, sure there will be more twists still to come, hopefully we get over the line.
On seeing Mings go off that day v Newcastle and with Buendia already gone at that point, i'm pretty sure we all had doubts on day one of this season.
You forget Gareth Barry played LB and got into the national team doing that
I feel a bit sorry for Archer. He should've never gone to Sheffield United. It was always going to be a tough place to go and show your qualities. And with that decision made, he's really lowered his valuation. I'd hope a Championship club would take him but it's highly doubtful that it would be for a lot of money now.
In terms of signings in the summer, Rogers is the perfect example of what can be done. A player who is already good and has potential for a high ceiling is perfect for us. We need to bulk the squad but that shouldn't be with players who just want the wage. There's a good feel around the club at the money and the people we get in need to add to that and want to continue that good connection to the owners and the players and the fans.
Question for you guys, would love to here Dan, John's and Matt's opinion... How would you feel about a behind the scenes documentary at villa? I feel that right now I'd rather them not do one as the magic of emery and this group of players would be ruined. Sometimes it's better to not peek behind the veil... However would have loved to have seen one under dean smith. What do you guys think?

Well, an elephant would be more agile than Harry McGuire. Hare's are often found in mid field and I;ve seen a few terriers with great ball skills. Giraffes would be great in the air; that neck swinging thing that they do.🤔

I think Spurs have a good record against Man City, I wouldn't count on things just yet. Injuries are worring at this stage, need to win at Brighton, where we have a good record. I'm not confident about the last two games , not a great record at Palace, Liverpool, we need to be at our best, can't have another nightmare like against Chelsea. Hoping we win the final at this stage of the season, it would be disappointing if we drop off, after such a great season..

Guys I love your contributions but please stop guessing results lets take each game and result in context. My heart cant stand this .
I'm 71 and remember the excitement of being at the Arsenal game in 1981and thinking we had blown it, but Norwich did us a favour that no one saw coming and hence we won the First Division all those years ago.
Then I followed Villa all the way to Rotterdam and had the most stressful 90 mins of football of my life before seeing the team lift the Trophy
Enjoy the ride enjoy the last three games and lets see what happens.
Don't forget we have made Europe all ready, people seem to have forgotten that while trying to get into the Champions League.
4/5 finish hence a more than successful season and the we still have the Europa Conference semi to come?
