- Some children battling epilepsy have seen a drastic turnaround and reduction of seizures after using Charlotte's Web, an oil made from marijuana plants very low in THC and high in a chemical called cannabidiol, or CBD. Lindsay Watts reports.

very true and it does not have to be a specific strain for epilepsy we have so many in my country using CBD for epilepsy long as you don dilute it too much it works perfect ours is 8/1 eight parts of coconut oil to one part of CBD oil coconut oil self also has a lot of value in it self so its a double wammy

@Rasta Fonz yes, Dravet syndrome is always fatal, but she got to actually enjoy her short life, which was unheard of until Charlotte's Web was a thing.
I'm sad that she passed on to a different dimension. I want to advocate for this strand. If it doesn't work for certain kiddos, it should be looked into so that the potency can be increased by 1% at a time until it works.

I understand there may be undetermined long term effects but it's not as though this little girl had many other options; her family had tried everything else. I'd reckon the benefit of reducing her seizures from 300 per week to nearly 0 outweighs the cost of a possible reduction in liver functioning later.
She sadly passed away at 13, she had symptoms of covid and got pneumonia which brought the seizures back. RIP Angel

1) There hasn't been enough research done to know the risks? Uhm okay...so do it? Every drug being taken today at some point hadn't had the research done. So do it. That's no reason to NOT pursue the matter.
2) It didn't help all kids. SO THE FUCK WHAT??? It helped SOME. It's a treatment OPTION. How often do the OTHER DRUGS YOUR'E GIVING WORK? 25% seems like a pretty substantial amount to me. I'm sure to those families, it meant the world, so who cares that it didn't help EVERY child, that's no reason the scrap the science.
Any treatment may not help every person that takes it, so them saying it didn't help all the kids becomes a moot point. Prescribed medicine doesn't help all the people that take it, and some even have severe adverse reactions to FDA approved medicine but they're afraid of marijuana being harmful? They are lying! The more people take the time to think about it, the more it will become clear.
We’ve been taking COVID shots since THEY CAME OUT? They haven’t had that much research! They haven’t been approved by FDA! And they’ve worked so far!

The fight of one kid's parents moved mountains. Funding for CBD research is a huge achievement and it only came about because of the Figi family and their close relatives and friends who stood with them. Many people all over the world will likely benefit from the Figi's hard work.
However, at a time when she was thriving, at 13 years and full of promise, it is sad that Charlotte Figi has been taken away by fatal complications from the COVID-19 virus. Our prayers for that family - and especially, Charlotte's twin sister.

my mother has stage 4 cancer patient and she was just diagnosed a couple months ago and just a few days ago she went through her second chemotherapy treatments and CBD is the only thing that's gives her relief and a better quality of life and if she doesn't take it she can't even get out of bed.

I like, how in this report, they tried to inspire doubt by pointing out that only 25% of patients saw improvement. 1/4 is a pretty good number when considering the risks are next to 0 and the cost is a fraction of most medical treatments... Almost feels like they had to inject this in to make the news report more dynamic.

My 15 year old daughter suffers from epileptic seizures that are so bad I feel helpless as her mother sheś been given medication to control her seizures but I feel it ain working and her seizures seem to have worsen and sheś having them more frequently Iḿ at my wits end trying to find a solution, it has affected her quality of life unable to attend college it has set us back meanining she can longer go to school she has 8 siblings who help care for her as well. So just watching what this cannabis oil can do gives me some hope not only for me but my daughter. I suffer from arthritis myself and I smoke weed to ease my pain beats the meds Ive been prescribed hands down..This is something I would consider for myself & my daughter if it were legal..
I suffer from psychogenic seizures and have been placed on more anticonvulsants and benzos.. Yes we all don't know what the long term effects are on the body. But if your in a situation like obviously many are, and you have quality of life issues, then i don't see what the issue is. It states that there is a very low THC, and won't get people high who use it. If you or your child is suffering, why not give it a try.
Many western doctors aren’t trained in holistic care. They’re aren’t trained in nutrition, supplements, or anything natural. They are only trained in pharmaceuticals. They don’t fix problems, they just give you stuff to mange symptoms. This needs to change. I understand needing doctors trained in pharmaceuticals, but we need more holistic doctors too. I can’t find one where I live. I want to find out WHY I’m having increased anxiety/depression & fix that issue, not just take an antidepressant for it! Is a hormone imbalance? They don’t even try to test & find out why! It’s making me angry! I know my body, & I also know I wasn’t having this problem until about month three off birth control. I believe it’s an imbalance. Seems like they just want me to shut up, & keep taking my birth control, & take the antidepressant to cover up the side effects of the birth control! (Hormonal birth control was also increasing my anxiety ten fold, which was why I stopped taking it in the first place. My body has begun to reject it, & I’m having issues coming off of it too.)

So I have epilepsy- complex focal type and the med I’m on (Lamictal) literally can cause a rare serious side effect that can lead to death. So I guess possibly dying is more dangerous than CBD 🤔 I asked my doc about this cbd strain and she said it’s only for the severe kids 😭
My husband was on Lamictal and now instead of just having grand mal seizures he has GrandMal, petite Mal and absence seizures and more frequently. So a prescription medication actually increased his seizures in both type and amounts he was having. And what's his neurologist solution? No CBD no Charlotte's Web no no no we can't have that here's another medication for you to try it may screw up your seizures even more...like fml
Fuck that, if you need hemp to heal your seizures, i'd buy it and take it as often as you personally need. I'd rather be using a plant naturally grown from the earth then a stupid pill anyday

Oh and what do seizure meds do? Decreased cognition and makes your children irritable and sleepy... seizure meds can make kids have more seizures? A lot about big pharma.
I have a 16 year old dog and I bought their CBD oil for pets to try and calm him down. It works really well! He's no longer pacing around and whining at night. He also seems to be eating better :)

I just got some charlotte web I been dealing with seizures for 18 years most likely have them the rest of my life but I just found the gummies of Charlotte web at my chiropractor office I bought it and been using it the last few weeks I promise you I don’t need my prescription medication anymore

It seems that pharma just wants enough money so that they can give an "expert" opinion and give the stamp of approval. How many times have people been affected by drugs, so-called medicine, prescribed by doctors who get a finders fee for prescribing a drug from a pharma company. There are medicines that help fight illness or infections of sorts, but even still not everything will work with certain people, look at blood types, we are all different and the same. It's an option not the cure, if a patient has a severe illness you give them options, it so happens to be some are CBD.

I'll tell you marijuana is a gift from God I have cerebral palsy I was diagnosed at 3 and I was a high candidate for seizures and I know that one I'm about to say is going to make my parents look bad or my mom most of all because she introduced me to marijuana when I was about 7 years old and I used to struggle to use my Walker and get around and when I started smoking marijuana at relax me it made my mouth was not too tight and it definitely helped me out a lot and a lot of therapy but I can tell you marijuana is a gift from God we just don't use it in the right way so is in hemp hemp is a gift from God also we can stop cutting down trees but I'm one of them small town kids that you don't hear about that had cerebral palsy and marijuana helped because people were going to look down on my mom and dad's for doing it and I don't even believe that they knew at the time that it would help me it was just around just part of my world and it ended up helping so it was like a gift from God that's why I look at it like that
