Have you looked at the Hawkeye Thumb camera? Looks like it does HD video with Gyroflow compatibility as well as connect to the VTX. I’m thinking about trying that for a similar setup (not nearly as long range as what you’re doing lol). Less gear to install at least!
    Keep up the good work!

DON"T you call his landings greasy, heart-blockers!! : ) Was good, wasn't it? Slight breezes can throw off planes with these wing aspect ratio's. V-Tails are a tad tougher as well.

The antennas from VAS are really good. Crossfire LRS can easily get you tens of KM's of control sys range, especially with a VAS antenna. Going to a lower freq, such as 1.2 can also get lots more video range.
An aircraft which travels faster is much more suitable for long distance flying, as it can penetrate weather.
rain water should not affect electronics in my experience. only Pitot tube, I have got frozen before at altitude, resulting in a bad reading, and sub optimal aircraft performance. also VTX should be kept dry, because the oscillator will not perform well when wet.
rain water is so pure, that it is ok for electronics. some people actually use distilled water immersion to cool electronics.
nice flight, fun! wings look sexy!

Yeah the VAS are incredible - I just ordered a VAS 15.5dBi Cannon Helical which claims to have +35km range. Since I don't have 1.2Ghz gear, the new VAS antenna is a good investment for my 5.8 equipment.

@@AeroStuffFPV, Hi, kindly tell me how you reinforce twin boom with wings? Is there any vibration in the boom when motor is on?? Is the boom made of carbon fibre SQUARE pipe??? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks and Regards

Would be interesting if you build an inverted V tail. You can remove the horizontal stabilizer from this and tip the vertical ones together and you're there.

Do you think the twin boom H tail has the best design for stability?
It would be interesting to see a video about how to make a pan/zoom camera for drone observation.

H-Tails are super stable, but uses more storage space - not so compact compared to other (V-Tail) designs

At those frequency the antenna length is not the problem, It is line of sight that is important. You can send a signal of half a watt into a satellite that is 100 km into space. We communicate with the ISS with hand held that have less than 5 watts. And that is in VHF and UHF (between 50 mhz and 700 mhz) the video transmitter is in the ghz. At those frequency the antenna length is 28.8 to 32 mm, while it is possible to make a co phased antenna, ou will need very good instrument to mesure and test if the antenna is well tuned and really do its job. a 2 element co phased will add around 3db to the signal (doubling it). but for doubling it again (6 db) you will need to have a 4 element co phased antenna. Also, you need to work on the same plane for both receive and tx antenna. if the transmitter is vertical polarized, the receiver need to also be vertical. There is multiple way to place antenna plane. but the must match between tx and rx.

Hi, really like your airplanes, New to the channel. I did not see all of your video, so I need to ask. Have you ever made a plane with airfoil that are not at 180 degree of each other. I understand that those help for stability of lift. But they are also slow and induce a lot of drag. a V airfoil can help going faster with less drag and not so much power consumption. In your last video the batteries were not that low. you could have gone way farter and faster. I am also a ham radio operator. The frequency that you use is using line of sight (LOF), If you place your start base on a small hill or even on the top of a mountain that face a large plain, You could even do 20+ km with such setup. The LOF is not base on your eye sight but on the fact that the receiver and emitter have nothing between them.

Try building a V-tail plane based on it, but with an inverted V-tail to get a more stable flight without losing the look and beauty of this FPV plane.
