literally watching this one day before my actual igcse maths and i am grateful to have a teacher like you
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and left a comment! It means a lot. If you have requests or ideas for future videos, I'd love to hear them! You can send them to gingermathematician@gmail.com
Finally done with the whole video - and I just went and had a nice, tiny snack break! I'd forgotten how easy Probability is because I've been focusing on other topics, and this video was such a breeze, especially with your stellar explanations! Thank you once again!
Nice work! It#s not the shortest video in the world 😂 Keep working hard on the revision; the prediction videos will be out in about 2 weeks time...
@@GingerMathematician Ooh yes I am waiting for the prediction! Thank you! Also, do you know where I can get october/november past papers for 2021?
Not available quite yet, they come out on Cambridge next week and then your teachers will have access 👍
@@GingerMathematician Ohh! I can't wait to solve them :D
Year 9 Here. I have my IGCSE Finals tomorrow and this is the only topic I couldn't properly understand. You made it way easier than my math teacher. Thank you so much sir.
Glad it helped! How did they go?
Amazing sir Got an A*. My teacher gave me the paper the next day itself. I was very happy with myself.
@@__Zyrix__Woaw! That’s amazing congrats! I have 3 more months for my finals, with my first mocks tomorrow 😅
You can't even imagine how thankful I feel rn
tysm
please keep making more of these
No problem I will keep adding content Vaidehi :-)
Thank you so so so much! I just started Igcse syllabus last year and i was struggling so much to understand and answer past paper questions. Thank you so much for being such a life saver this have helped me so much. I watched many of your videos and now I feel so much better. Thank You and please don’t ever stop teaching us, you are the reason many of us students are able to do well on our classes☺️
I'll keep working hard for you all Alm 🙂👍
Dear Mister Ginger Mathematician,
Thank you for the time and effort you put to make this video. Because of you I have come to understand this topic thoroughly. I have an upcoming exam and my O'Levels coming up and this video has helped me extremely.
Thank you very and hope you good health.
Thank you 😊 Glad I could make probability a little easier 👍
OMG chuuya pfp-er HELLO (I am Procrastinating)
Your videos are so helpful, I understood probability easily. Thank you so much it’s helping me a lot for my upcoming exam in October and November 😊❤️
No problem best of luck with the upcoming iGCSE exams 😊 Any requests please let me know 👍
@@GingerMathematician okay 😊
Paper 2 tomorrow, just cramming some of the topics that I can. I’m probably gonna skip mensuration so hopefully it doesn’t come 😅
Great vids. I find it easier on 8C though to go right to the end of the line (4/9, 3/8, 2/7,1/6x 5/5) and then work backwards so you don't need to be comparing the sizes of tricky fractions multipied by another p/white ball. Seems easier for me, as the (white)5/5 acts a limit and parameter that makes things easier to comprehend.
Love to see alternative methods tigger, thanks for sharing 😊👍
thank you so much sir this helped a lot....... u really deserve a subscription😊
Thank you Sadiq 😊👍
I really like how you explain all the workings and how it comes to the answer as well! Is the calculator not allowed in the paper 2 of the 0607 course?
Thanks Min :) On the 0607 course Paper 2 is purely a non-calculator paper but only 45 mins...
I really appreciate that, sir. My doubts have been cleared after seeing your video, and I have an upcoming exam.
Great to hear & best of luck 🙂👍
I can't thank you enough for this!
You're very welcome! Hope to do similar videos in the future...!
@@GingerMathematician :D
You are amazing, extremely understandable speech, great explanation in all of your videos. Very pleased with the amount of content I have covered with your videos. Thank you for your help :)) cheers!
Thank you Bhavya, really appreciate the kind comment 😊 Is there another topic you would like me to do in this format?
Well, I am unaware if you have done a detailed video like this for Sets and Venn diagram, but if you haven't, I would really appreciate it if you could please do one. Thank you :)
On my list 😉
Thank you so much you've saved my igcse! you deserve way more subscribers!
Thank you 😊😊
Great explanation!
I try to keep it simple 😊👍
You're the best thanks man!
You're welcome!
thank you so much for teaching probability, ive been stuck on a few questions especially the one that are asking for the outcomes will sum up to xxx. i do have a question on if i have to draw the sample space diagram on every questions or i could do it just once? and if i draw it once which number should i draw it on? once again truly grateful. :D
A tree diagram will work for most problems Eleanor
Found probability very hard, but after watching your videos, i've finally understood, Thank you so much sir!
Glad I could help 🙂
Nice vid. At 10:04 what rule is used when you multiplied . I can never tell when to multiply or add??
And for multiply, or for add 😊
Hi, I've been doing probability questions and I've seen questions where number cards come up like in the paper 0580/43/O/N/20. Question number 4. If you could explain that it would be great
Could you send your message to gingermathematician@gmail.com and I will add to my list 😊
Do you use an external microphone when you record? The audio quality is pretty good!
Nope just my internal mic 🙂 👍
Thank you so much GM! Wish me luck for my exams upcoming in a few months!
I'll be there every step of the way 🙂
@@GingerMathematician tysm!
It was so helpfull during my gcse paper 2... thanks alot
No problem 👍
sir i have one question - in my paper 2 yesterday, there was a probability question. In that there were n number of hats with different colors and m number of scarves with different colors. It asked to find a certain color of the hat and scarf, chosen at random. Do we take seperate denominators for each or combine the number of hats and scarves (two category probaility basically). Thank you so much sir!
Hi Rohan, you essentially combine the two probabilities together 👍 If you can remember the full question, e-mail it to gingermathematician@gmail.com 🙂👍
It was something like: chosen at random, find probability that the hat and scarf is blue
Do you remember any of the other questions?
Can you please help me
At 29:30 how did we multiply the fraction by 5/6, are we allowed to make up a fraction to multiply our answer with?
Because it's the probability of not choosing a white ball :-)
11:12 What do you mean by "there is replacement or without replacement"?
Whether the ball goes back into the bag or not... this then has an effect on the 2nd event's probability 🙂👍
Hey , i know this video is due to the result of the community pole , however could plzz make a video of the topic with second majority of the pole as well ,differentiation ,algebra
That's coming out tomorrow on differentiation exclusively for the iGCSE 0580 course 😉👍
Hello! If i would get the answer right but didnt show exactly how they show in the method mark, would I still get all marks for that question?
(In any topic)
Generally yes but you should show supporting working as you may pick up method marks even if you get the answer wrong 🙂👍
Your a bloody genius
Thanks Haroon, do my best 😉👍
If we drew a sample space diagram, do we get all the marks in a to e which are for working?
Yep
The link to the google document in the description is not the same questions that you are solving in the video. Did you make any other video for those?
Can't remember where it is... but I want to make a new version of this anyway 🙂
I don't get why you have to minus 8/90 from 18/90 for the last question. Can someone please explain?
Hi Noodlez, 18 / 90 represents WW and 8 / 90 reprrsents RR, so both need to be subtracted from 90 / 90 🙂👍
Sir how do we know in which question we are supposed to apply the sample space diagrams 12:01 ....?
Hoping for a reply ASAP
When you have two events (Spinners) in this case and you are looking at problems where the probabilities of both are combined 😊👍
@@GingerMathematician I actually don't get it ... :( please explain if possible ASAP
Hi Sir, do I need to draw the Sample space table for each and every sub question?
Once is enough but then reference to it when you're answering each sub question 👍
@@GingerMathematician ok thanks for clarifying!
Hey ginger! your videos help me alot as I am preparing for my IGCSE's in 2025. I am still in 9th grade. Ginger i have a question, why are probability questions marks are weighted too much? like for a 1 step question is 3-4 marks?
Probability can polarise the Maths student community - some find it very difficult whereas some find it quite easy 👍
only the real ones watching this two years later for their math paper 4 on the 7th 😭
MEEE LMAO
hihi I believe the powerpoint link you provide in description is different than what shown in the video, can you check that again? thanks
This video was a mixture of content, don't think I have all the resources available sorry 😕
Sir can you please explain why did you choose the new ball to be black one and not a white? At 20:41
Followed the instructions in the question
0580 vs 0607 papers?
Hi sir , is this suitable for the 0580 extended course ??
Yes and 0607, no difference between them 🙂
Thank you !!
No worries!
What is the difference bet 0580 paper and 0607 paper. Im writing the 0580 paper, is this still the same for preparation for the exam?
About 80% similar, probability is one of the topics where there is no difference 👍
Hello! I just wanna know how is the probability for the soft centred chocolate 0.4??
Hi Kaguya, do you have a time stamp for this question? 🙂
@@GingerMathematician timestamp: 9:15
oh it's because 1 - 0.6 =0.4. Where 1 is known as the total probability if that makes sense
@@vaelinlovewee3300 TYSM!!
@@gojogotnoballs no probs :D
ginger y do u take p(sss) in the probability question
Hi Selva, do you have a timestamp for the question? 🙂👍
may I know which part is the conditional probability?
When the probability changes from one event to another 👍
Thank you so much for teaching it so well! I was just wondering if you have a video on the topics Polynomial Functions and Inequalities (0607), I find it quite confusing.
I have an Inequalities playlist 😊👍 czcams.com/play/PLYNwTLhq9xZb9cUgRFXLUT3jcUeX2_40G.html
Sir when do we know when to use sample space and tree diagrams sir
In probability, both sample spaces and tree diagrams are tools used to organize and analyze possible outcomes of an experiment.
Sample Space:
When to Use:
Use a sample space when the number of outcomes is manageable and can be listed easily.
It's suitable for simple experiments with a limited number of possible outcomes.
Example:
If you're rolling a fair six-sided die, the sample space is {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}.
Tree Diagrams:
When to Use:
Use a tree diagram when the experiment involves multiple stages or events, and the outcomes at each stage depend on the outcomes of the previous stages.
It's useful for visualizing and calculating probabilities in more complex situations.
Example:
If you flip a coin and then roll a die, a tree diagram can show all possible outcomes at each stage.
In summary, choose a sample space for simpler scenarios with a limited number of outcomes, and opt for a tree diagram when dealing with multi-stage experiments or events with dependencies. Both are valuable tools depending on the complexity of the probability problem you're working on.
Does this video also have 0580 questions because our syllabus does not have relative frequency in probability...
This is a mixture of 0580 and 0607 questions :-)
nice video..can i know where to find the questions and answers with the mark scheme
Check the description 👍
I have a confusion in one of differentiation question can you explain MAin that ??
Hi Chix, not sure what your question is? 🙂
@@GingerMathematician where can I tell you question?? Here?
@@chixyuv9102 yep here works or gingermathematician@gmail.com 👍
@@GingerMathematician ok
you are my sunshine. my only sunshine mr gingermathmatician
Lol do my best!
There's no link to the powerpoint :(
Now added Sawada to the description :-)
28:38 I am so confused where did we get 3/8 from 😅
So initial probability is 4 / 8, so if I choose another one of the same, I have 3 of them out of 8 in total 😊👍
love youre video my exam is on 2 may
Best of luck!
@@GingerMathematician thank you so much
Thank you
👍
In 9:32 , how did you get 0.4?
Probability of a Hard Chocolate is 0.6, so the Probability of a Soft Chocolate is 0.4 as the two decimals need to add up to one whole 👍
Thank you☺️
No body my exam is in like 3 hrs decided to actually understand probability
Good luck Ahmed 😊😊
u saved my life
😊
Is IGCSE still doing 4 papers ?
IGCSE 0580 has two papers, IGCSE 0607 has three 🙂👍
Is this for edexcel
For Cambridge but the questions are very similar on Edexcel too 👍
I didn't understand why didn't you use a calculator.. because foe us CIE students a calculator is allowed
Two main reasons 😊
1. IGCSE 0607 has a non-calculator paper so I vary between both methods.
2. IGCSE 0580 will have a non-calculator paper from 2025 onwards 👍
@@GingerMathematician Oh, I had no idea about that.. Thanks for the info 😊
How is it 0.4
Do you have a timestamp for the question?
Is it suitable for 0580 please
For both 0580 and 0607 Hadeel 🙂 👍
What is the probability of Probability being easy???

I don't know how you make all of this look so easy and your explanations are super helpful
Do my best 😊
Could u plz share the pdf
I'll see if I can find it 🙂

the powerpoint is different to the video
Yep but still plenty of practice 😊👍
Pls do 3d diagrams
