Warrior games are definitely one of those genre type games you either like or hate, and your enjoyment can also be directly attributed to the characters and universe. Someone who likes One Piece would probably enjoy pirate warriors, but if you've never watched or have any experience with One Piece, you might not. I love Hyrule Warriors and Pirate Warriors, but have no experience with Dynasty Warriors, so i have no attachment to the characters and generally find that series boring.
Same with hyrule only more gayer
I found the Dynasty series interesting because the characters were actually real warriors and the battles actually took place. It was kind of like a foreign history lesson to me.
Just think about it with me yall 😂😂 can u imagine a mario based musou i personally think it would be fuckin awesome lol bashing troopas with yoshi or DK cool graphics a thought out combat system smh but yall dont feel me tho 😪😪

as a fan of One Piece it does my heart good to see that this is a good game if you like this kind of game play that is
The game may be repetitive, but all musou games are. That’s why for games like this I’m not in a rush to beat, I often take maybe 30 minutes out my schedule to play it, so I can just “enjoy” it. Either way, a true one piece fan will like this game, it’s made specially for one piece fans. If they would have brought back the more adventure feel like the first one( quick time events, mini games, and storm style boss battles) it would’ve definitely been greater but hey things change.
Warning; One piece pirate warrior 4 does not include any arc from east Blue, in fact it begins right at Alabasta, if you want the feeling of rediscovering the beginning of one piece with a true progression in the members of the team, i'd rather recommend the third installement even thoe it stops around the don Flamingo arc. Also, the online is really poorly implemented, you have to reinvite you partner for each mission and he isn't really in the narration, if he picks Zorro, then there'll be a second Zorro on the Map who act as the narrative npc, a Real shame.
Them skipping Zou and not adding Amazon Lily is sinful to me, though I guess it'd be understandable with Amazon Lily since you wouldn't be able to use Sanji if you wanted to free-play. They could have EASILY added in Zou however.
I gotta question. I haven’t finished one piece I’m only on ep 610. But I wanna get this game without having spoilers. I wanna play arcs that I’ve seen like alabasta and enies lobby. So could I pick what arcs to play or can I like stop at a arc I haven’t seen then play it after ?
@@eli6780 it's gonna be hard because this one begins with a flash foward all the way to the current arc. I would suggest the third one, no flash foward, yes you Can stop anytime and there is a mode were you Can just farm missions to unlock some sweet characters like Shanks
xdr22 so when u first get into the game is the first mission a recent arc n then u get to go n pick an arc after?

The game is great, especially when you are a one piece fan, there are a lot of fun missions.
Its about fighting tons of enemies and role playing, it's just simple and plain fun , nothing else
Just got the game recently and gotta say I do enjoy playing it. The only thing I probably hate in the game is the camera movement honestly...especially when I am doing combos and the camera doesn't follow the character properly and sometimes is blocked by a wall or tree.
As a fan of One Piece and Mosou games, this is a pretty good game. However, if you're more of a One Piece fan rather than Mosou fan, Pirate Warriors 3 is better. Basically:
If you love One Piece, play Pirate Warriors 3. There's more of One Piece's story to play through.
If you love Musou games, play Pirate Warriors 4. There's newer gameplay mechanics that the older ones lack

When looking at the dynasty warrior style gameplay, I honestly feel I'd get the same experience just watching the fights in the anime while mashing Square on an unconnected controller. Really wish one piece could just get a good game already.

The game is fun, but can get repetitive.
My go-to characters/warriors are: Blackbeard, Katakuri, Luffy, Zoro, Kizaru, Doflamingo, Akainu and Kaido.
All games are repetitive.

0:20 20 seconds in and he's already wrong. No, the story mode does NOT recount almost all of the story, it skips a fuck ton of important arcs and moments. The previous game was a more complete game in terms of story

@@Millawls No idea. Like i said the previous game had a much better inclusion of arcs even though when it came out the Dressrosa arc wasn't completed
Millawls the arcs they did do for the game are way more fleshed out the the previous game. Arcs takes multiple missions instead of one mission per arc last game

I. No joke. Just last week, finished PW3. I want these 3D models, I want these new graphics, I want the newer story arcs. But alas, I need to take a break from the games. If this game's even on par with 3, it'll be fantastic.

SKP_Yeouiju gameplay wise it’s much faster and I like that but the removal of a lot of characters from pw3 sucks big time
So I’d still say overall pw3 is better atleast until PW4 has all of its content released then it might be better.

What i wonder is why they chose to cover the whole story again when the last game already did that, and with more detail.
The first few dynasty warrior games covered the same major wars. Yellow turban. Lu Bu and who gives a care evil guy. The major problems that the three major factions face. The red cliffs. Etc so on what ever.
The diffrence is how much detail or the issues are in each game. The 2nd game featured a huge upward mountain. The 3rd had physical destroyable magical devices. The diffrence between the primal fights are cut sceens that feature the poison lake, animals, heavy armor, and so forth. Slowly over time those highly detail levels would be quicker, with that effort going elsewhere. Not even the poision lake would be mention in much later games.
So for one piece 1 to 4. The same thing will be happening. CP 9 likely will always get ptime attention. In the first game it was more action base with minor puzzles. One level delt with a slow luffy, with a very sick Nami gimmic. Most side story warrior games tend to do this. Even samurai was more, hold and wait. Fist of north star, and majorly Zelda.
So ya, we likely won't see the first 4 fights done. Or rouge port. I would not be surprized if pre grand line was One damn level.
Cause just having a completed Dressrosa, Zou, Whole Cake, and part Wano probably wouldn't be enough.
@@SweetKiguBro Well then they could make it enough. Give it more detail, give it more than just a couple missions. We could have had more playable characters like Kin'emon, Pica, Hajrudin, Jack, Pekoms, Cracker, Smoothie, Perosbero, X Drake, etc. Better story detail and less glossing over events or skipping them entirely.
There is no rule saying an Arc in 4 has to be the same length as an Arc in 3.
False. It doesnt There are only 6 Arcs on this game. Arabasta is chapter 100 and onward. Meh Pirate warriors 3 is cheapter and can give you a longer experience but not air combat and somehow This game too me Looks worse, WTF?

The switch version is literaly a downgrade and the devs even said it would be *heavily modified* to properly run on it.
My buddy got it for the switch, then brought it for the PS4 because the graphics and spawns were laughable.

I thought this one was going to have kizuna special attack, since it doesn't I'm in no rush to buy it.
Yes it changes the mechanics a good bit from pw3 but once you learn them it's just as good if not better. Kizuna rush and character specfic moves (R1/RB) are replaced by special moves, each of them having certain uses, like buffs, traps, powerful attacks, specialized attacks, including one being "full force burst" which speeds up combos and usually gives a trait for that specific character. It also adds an airborne aspect, with a ground combo able to turn into an airborne combo. There is a power dash replacing the kizuna rush button which you can use to cancel combos. There are different character types that actually have a profound impact compared to the categorisation they had in pw3. Never mind all that. Just know there's gear 4th, katakuri, big mom, kaido, and the fact whitebeard actually looks 21 feet tall

He says there is split screen coop... where the hell is it. It was the only reason I bought this game for me and my little brother to play. The 3rd one, all he had to do was hit start on the mission select screen. In this one they don't show or talk about, in any way, how to do split screen. So if someone could enlighten me I'd much appreciate it. They even showed gameplay in Japanese of them playing split screen....
When in a character select screen just turn on the 2nd controller and u can join
Just connect 2nd controller bro. Maybe certain levels are one single player in dream log. Try playing free/treasure log w your brother. It will work
As much as I love One Piece, I'm not a fan of these types of games. Personally feel a UN kind of game would work better for the anime but hey just my preference.
Unlimited adventure and Cruise are the best OP games.

To a normal person yes. To someone who likes these games that’s normal. These games aren’t for people who like something new with each level. These are games for people who are immune to repetitive gameplay and like to plow through thousands of enemies per level.
@@BigPapaSpeedwagon Musou games are less about the challenge and more about finding a character with a moveset you like and falling into a groove... and then cranking it up to nightmare difficulty so there's something of a challenge.
Robby Bevard I find this game to be challenging even on normal. The AI have been buffed in 4 and the fodder will take more accurate shots at you that do good damage. I had big mom once take 75% of my hp with one attack to on N O R M A L. The AI dont mess around.
@@BigPapaSpeedwagon I've played a lot of Musou games over the years. None of them are hard till you reach final levels on the highest difficutly and mooks start two-shotting you.
A boss doing a huge amount of damage is nothing special.
Robby Bevard this was on a mission where she was a normal enemy in the story. The only reason I lived was because I have a skill that increases defense the lower my health gets

Snoothe3rd No. Whole Cake is a playable arc, but the game starts you at Alabasta. Then, takes you through Enies Lobby and Summit War. Post time skips to 2 year reunion, Dressrosa, Whole Cake and finally Wano (which is an original uncanon story. Final arcs in Pirate Warriors are usually like that.)

It's not hate, it's just boredom. It's essentially the same game with very, very minor changes for the last 15 years and a different skin. We've seen modders put more effort in no-clothes mods for other games so there's a lot of disappointment. I find Musou games enjoyable for short bursts but they are very shallow and repetitively boring.
Honestly niggas don’t hate the game the only complaint you hear are the arcs & characters the Developers took out the game lol and the camera but overall the game is solid
Yeah I enjoyed it too but it took no time at all to play through the story and run through enough side stuff to unlock everything. It's a mindless game that gets boring pretty quickly. Fun while it lasts tho.

Nickolas Ganadakis except pirate warriors 4 plays very differently to 3 and almost all the returning characters got new movesets and special skills.
"The unique artwork is translated well*" uh... boi are you blind? Those character models are looking hella bad. What works for 2d doesn't always work for 3d, not to mention they seemed a bit stiff and animations looked like they were lacking frames.

This is the same franchise that spit out the 3rd game before the dressrosa arc was even completed so the games ending just doesnt make any sense and is missing half the essential characters because they didnt have enough time to make a few more character models

Flik alabasta,marineford,enies lobby, sabaody,fish man island. All of these arcs had moments where massive amounts of people either fought another massive force including the straw hats or hunted them specifically. Just because it wasn’t the whole arc doesn’t mean it DOESNT happen. I mean when the crew returned after 2 years they had a huge navy force there to stop them and it required multiple pirates to help them get away. Alabasta was a whole civil war plus when zoro fought the millions group, Enies lobby had the whole buster call situation plus the fight when they got there. Fish man island luffy took down 50k people in one
Haki use and left the rest for his crew.

Musou Games imo are atrocious, i picked up Pirate Warriors 3 because i like one piece but that was just mindnumbingly dull and repetitive.
Different strokes for different folks i guess. I loved pirates warriors 3. Turning off my brain and looking flashy with my favorite OP characters was fun for me
