I have calico isopods but they are different colors. Dark, orange. They are very healthy and not at all demanding. Very EASY.

Awesome. Today l decided l need to split my Porc Spinicornis up. I'm gunna see if l can find any cool looking ones in there.
Awesome job, nice colonies. Good luck getting those expressions going!

I’ve never kept Spinicornis myself but I’d definitely try to get some with more of a yellow colouration myself

@@BigRedsIsopods I've noticed that some of them, if you look very closely look like they have little Golden Hand and footprints on them also. It's really neat.

I wanted to breed some morph by myself, but I explored nature for speciments. I would want some tipps or suggestions, this is new for me. So far I found interesting trachelipus rathkii (some very active, some painted, some red), yellow porcellio spinicornis living in debris of ancient castles (on the bark are olive grey), and sand patterned porcellio scaber (grey dotted with white, found in sandy shore, 10 m from a sea). NE Europe is unexplored with a lots of new genes for shure. It will take a year or years.

Cool video man, i believe female isopods will storge sperm in side then and can use it for multiple pregnancy. Im sure its got a cool science name.
The main reason i say this anyway, is when picking isopods to breed you want to pick young one that are less likely to have been breed with before. So there ofspring are more likly to pass on there colour morphs.
This was somone that i was told by my local breeder a couple of years ago anyway.

Wow that was really cool. Oh I love the morph with white of peracce. I want to get some of those. I don't have any. They're so cute and have cool little bumps. It would be so cool to find a new morph int he collection no one has and try to propagate it. I look forward to what will happen. BTW, could you do a video sometime talking about what kind of bins you use? Those are huge. I only have the shoe box size so far with the clip side lids. Also what kind of bark is that? Did you find that or buy it? Anyway I'm glad I found your channel.

Amazing video I find it so much easier to knock them off the wood into another container to grab them safely ❤

Do we need springtails in isopod culture?

It’s definitely not a necessity but it will help keep any mold from spreading due to food leftovers or moisture.
