All Season tyres are not a good idea for snowy roads
How so? I just demonstrated that they indeed are amazing in the snow
100% it was a scary experience so I bought Winter tires.
I live in Utah where it’s known for the greatest snow on earth. Last winter was snowing hard and on my daily I have all season tires and it does just fine driving up hill with 3 inch snow on the road

I saw the east coast got a snow storm and I’ve been waiting for a good snow storm like that in Chicago to test it out. Also surprised the FSD works with the lane markers gone.

Colorado Springs Colorado - we picked up about 8 inches of snow yesterday. Rained first then the snow came. I am going to attempt to drive for Uber this morning and see how successful I am being out in the elements. Also, I have to go to a Super charging park to charge the Model 3, currently 25 degrees out. Interesting that autopilot picked up the lanes even though the roads were snow packed and no pun intended - stayed in the lane. Plus I found that was funny when you were behind the plow i noticed you even passed a less confident Tesla driver that was behind the snow plow.

Thanks for the video. Juat did the similar thing last week on the way back from a ski resort and my model3 dual motor did just fine while we saw five cars stranded due to lost tractions. Btw, how do you enable "slip start" on model y? I know you can turn off the traction on performance models.
It’s in the driving menu. But traction off only available on the performance model :(
Cool video. I wish we can retrofit the newer style steering wheel from the refreshed model 3 into the older vehicles. That would be cool

@@TommyLGarage Definitely try using "off-road" assist mode when driving in snowy conditions like this. It's a night/day difference in terms of overall driving performance and stability in the snow!
Also, for those without "Track Mode" in the Model 3/Y Performance, you can now enable "Drift Mode" if you have the S3XY buttons/Commander with the latest holiday update to have some fun in your non-performance Tesla!

We don't get any show here in South of England, but rain a lot. Tesla's M3P's amazing traction allows me to drive the car much faster and safer than i was able to drive in BMW M3 which won't even stance a chance with it's twitchiness.

I was my own plow once but I was 20 years old, you're really lucky you didn't wreck that thing.
The point of having a Tesla like the one you passed behind the plow is to be safe and all those other things that a Tesla provides .
Even a Tesla can't give you good judgment. If you wiped out you would have taken other people with you possibly. ✌️

I have a 22 long range model y, I don’t really trust it in the snow..not the way I trust my Subaru Outback 😉 ✌️👍
Have you driven it hard in the snow?
@@TommyLGarage tested around and did well under testing…but one time I was going about 35mph on snow and car suddenly lost traction sliding to the side towards the curb, it got probably about 1” from the curb and suddenly regained control. It just freaked me out and now just use my Subaru if it’s bad enough lol
@@david100483 Try using "off-road" assist mode when driving in snowy conditions. It will definitely help with the stability/sliding around you experienced.
I heard Tesla is bad in cold weather i don't care what people say about it because that with any car tesla is coool

Hey Tommy, do you have winter tires? (a.k.a. "snow tires" for you) 😂😂😂 I know, my favorite topic lol. Now seriously, it's very impressive. Spoiler alert: we replaced our 4th car with a new one (an Audi A4 Allroad), it obviously came with all season tires, I've decided to give it a try exceptionally this year over the close mountain passes, let's see :-)

Not very smart on freaking all seasons tires. AWD doesn’t help shit when you need to brake. If you don’t have real winter tires you go slow.
I also totaled my 5 series 2 winters ago by getting cocky and “being my own plow.” I’ll never do that again.
