  • SAYSKY lightweight running backpack review. It's no secret that I am a big fan of SAYSKY running apparel and the brand has featured on the channel several time before. I spend a lot of my running miles wearing their running kit because it fits me so well, they use premium fabrics and it always delivers high levels of performance. However, the brand is very new to the running backpack market so I was really intrigued when they reached out to the channel and asked if we'd like to test out their brand new lightweight running backpack. We've been running in the pack for around 2 months now and here are our thoughts - hope you enjoy it!

    The GOAT of race vests for me is still the Salomon S Lab sense ultra 8. Love the speed flask that is also designed for it. Got me through my first 50 and 100 mile ultras.

      It's tough to beat a Salomon running vest John. They've had so many years of development and innovation, I'm a massive fan of the Adv 12 Set! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊

    Thanks for the review Loyd. It is still tough to beat Salamon in quality and price in my opinion. I still find it as a good deal if you want a hydration vest and a backpack fussioned together. As for the mysterious back pocket, judging by the isolation, I think it's for a bladder (maintains water temperature cold in summer, not too cold in winter)

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  Před 2 lety +2

      Totally agree Naim 👍
      Salomon have put years and years of development in to their running vests and I'm a big fan of the Adv 12 Set! I thought the pocket had to be for a bladder but there's no opening to run a hose, or anyway to hang your bladder? 🤔
      I'm sure we'll find out in the end what the pocket has been designed for. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel as always its appreciated 🙏😊

    I love the design 😃 it looks like you we're just running on a normal backpack. But i also agree that those zipper could frustrate you a bit when your on a race. I think I'll found myself on a hurry while zipping 😆.
    Great vid again Loyd! ⚡ Have a great day! 🙏🏾😃

      @Run4Adventure  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Randel, really glad you enjoyed the video 👍
      It's definitely more of a back pack design with this one. Zips that get stuck are a bit of a pet hate of mine, I've had it on a few jackets and it does get frustrating 😔
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏

    Great video. The insulated pocket is for a water bubble. At a product picture on the website of Saysky u can see a outcoming tube at the back of the vest. Greetings from germany ✊🙋🏼‍♂️

      I thought it must be for a bladder but there's no opening in the pocket for a bladder hose? Which is odd 🤔
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated Patric 🙏😊

      It's definitely a good first attempt from SAYSKY and I'm sure they'll keep making improvements. I'd definitely like to see it come with its own soft flasks in the future 👍
      Thanks for watching mate, hope you are fit and well 🙏

    Interesting, don't want to buy a new running pack but I've lost a lot of weight since I bought mine I may well have to soon. Think I'd rather get another active skin 12 though.

      If your Salomon vest is working well I'd stick with it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, as they say 😊

    Looks like a quality pack! Such a great price point too. Could the insulated pocket on the back be to hold some freezer blocks to keep your back cool in the warmer weather? Similar to the cool vests that Nike make? 🤔

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  Před 2 lety +1

      It's a solid piece of kit Ben 👍
      The insulated pocket could be for that but I've never seen that on a running pack before? 🤔
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏

    I'm looking for a very lightweight backpack to carry one small 14 inch laptop (and nothing else) while I run 8 miles to work in all weathers including torrential rain. What do you recommend? The SaySky ticks almost all the boxes, but looks too small for a 14 inch laptop.

    I’ve run 1000+ in a cheap decathlon 1L camelpak bag. I find it quite comfartable with strap across chest. Is there a substantial difference in these race vests? I am only running 5-25 miles on fell style trails for fun.
    Thanks

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  Před 2 lety +1

      That's great to hear Ashley 👍
      Different things work for different people obviously but you might be surprised how much better it would feel. Especially if you ran in something like the Salomon Adv 12 set. I ran with a Camelpak for around 6 months and when I ran in a hydration vest for the first time it was a bit of a revelation! 😊
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏

  • @ianl4518
    @ianl4518 Před 2 lety +1

    Looks like a bit of an odd one if I'm honest. The heavy duty zips imply something more for your 100 miler but the storage implies more of a 50mile/ 100k pack. I like a pack to one thing or the other. This looks like it's trying to be a bit of everything.
    I've always thought 8ltr is a bit of an odd size, never quite enough for mandatory kit for a long one and too big for shorter. I'm in the market for a new 5ltr and will give Harrier a go.

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  Před 2 lety +1

      I know what you mean about the storage from an 8L pack Ian. However I do think you could use the SAYSKY pack in a summer 100 we're the kit list might be a bit smaller than a winter race. You would have to pack quite light though but some runners do that anyway 👍
      The Harrier 5L vest is a really nice vest actually at a brilliant price point. Thanks for watching as always 🙏
