I no longer recommend vanilla enhanced lighting as it doesn't support dx12! It is good only if you don't want dx12 support lol

Thank you for the video, I was looking forward to your updated must-have mods as your last one really helped me out a lot when I began modding. I have a question regarding cinematic Netflix reshade and vanilla enhanced lighting. When I have both of them, at night, Geralt will have a sort of white-ish shadow when there should be no shadow/a slight dark shadow. Did you also run into this? If so, how did you fix it? Thanks!
Wow thank you!! To fix your issue it sounds like something to do with the lighting (being either the gamma, exposure, contrast, highlights or tonemap effects). When using the Netflix preset with vanilla enhanced lighting I recommend altering one of the reshade effect settings. Definitely one that has to do with the either the gamma, exposure, contrast, highlights or tonemap. If you can't find one to alter that is already active, there are a bunch of other effects in that list that effect the lighting that can be enabled and tweaked as well. But yeah it sounds like a lighting setting might need to be turned down slightly. Shame because when I installed the mods I immediately went ham on reshade, so I didn't notice that issue, thank you for bringing it to my attention! Worst comes to worst you can always toggle the active effects one at a time and see which one(s) is giving you that issue, then when you find it you can enable it again and turn it down just enough so the problem goes away. IF all that doesn't work, either try a new reshade preset or remove vanilla enhanced lighting as reshade is more important in my opinion lol. Hope that was of some help :) happy modding!!
Figured out the issue, it wasn’t the lighting mod nor the reshade causing the issue, it was darker nights. Once I disabled it, the shadow at night went back to normal

Thank you! Flame sword effect is from an item in the Magic Spells mod. I did hear the effect is attainable naturally in game as well with a certain sword

Liked and subbed. Please make another vid. I’ve been just installing mod after mod on nexus and I just need more 😂. Also, I tried SCAAR before but it reverted back to the vanilla camera (I like the next gen one better). Do you know how to fix it back to the next gen cam?
Thank you!! Yeah that camera bug happened to me at first as well, turned out I missed a step when copy pasting some of the file contents. I would double check the mod page and file to make sure everything is installed right, it works, it's just annoying to install lol.
Hey man, I have tried downloading a few of these and I am using script merger to merge conflicting scripts, but yet still with some of these mods I get errors when trying to launch the game, or the scripts do not merge on their own at all, and I am not sure how to fix them. would there be any way you could help me out if you have a discord or something i could join? Hey, so ive been trying to get these mods to work together but everytime i install critical slow motion mod in my already existing mods list which includes SCAAR it gives me lots of errors and im unable to fix them any tips?

Sure, I have an “unhandled exception” error on my script merger and… I have no idea what this means or how to fix it haha. It says it can’t find the path to my mods but I can find it easily, so I’m just gonna have a rest and fix it in the morning. I don’t get computers
Other Than that thanks! The mod I used worked like a charm (till I broke it with another haha)
lol no worries! Yeah if it can't find the path to your mods try selecting the overall Witcher folder, then if that doesn't work set it back to see if that fixed anything. Hope that helps at all, happy modding!

I tried getting Scaar n slo mo mod but the merging is giving problems I tried troubleshooting by watching another video but everytime I try to merge it just resets and gives the same problem again

4k clouds work with the "next gen"?
I believe they included those mods as a part of the Next Gen patch already, but I know Halk Hogan recently released a new HD Reworked project for next Gen that I gotta try out asap lol. As for the lights I find they wash out my face, but I'll work to improve it! Thanks for the comment! 💯

Random encounter with magic spell and item scaling + deathmarch is like playing darksouls difficulty.
You fight 7 wolves and because of that noise you attracted 3 griffin lol.
Pretty hard to install though, i had bad problem with it in 1.32 (my game doesn't load the textures when I fast traveled, and sometimes it'd bug quests that move to a new area).
And what even worse i can't fix the problem even though i uninstalled it, since that I'll never try that mod again.
I'll give it some try, but I have 41 mods so I need to be very careful.

Sorry noob question but can you use multiple reshade presets at the same time? And if so how? I am using the cinematic one but want to use the enhance vanilla lighting as well.
I know that you can switch between presets, but I haven't tried using more than one at once, not sure if that is possible. If you were referring to using the Vanilla enhanced lighting mod with reshade at the same time it works, I had them both active during the video 👍
@@ghostwindsamurai I see so the vanilla lighting was a mod and not and not a reshade preset. That makes a lot of sense now. Noticed that vanilla enhance lighting is not working properly for DX12 right now, at least from what many is saying. Hope it gets updated soon, thanks.

Scaar doesn't add a "new' dodge move, it just brings back the original dodge/spin move that came w/vanilla game in 2015-It got patched w/ new dodge move very early on because nobody liked it-lol! It's lame

I customized the reshade preset to my liking by pressing the 'home' button on the keyboard when in game. Then I selected and tweaked different effects
Completely off subject but you seem pretty mod savvy. I use 7zip and every now and then (at random it seems) when i try to unzip a file it just won't do it. No popups no errors it just won't unzip. Any ideas or suggestions?
Honestly not sure, perhaps try winrar👀It has an annoying popup but at least it is free
Make sure the program affinity didn't change on you. I had it randomly switch to "Open with 7zip Console" which was pretty annoying. Changing it back to "Open with 7zip" did the trick.

Is there a mod that makes the Witcher gear as strong as it used to be?

When in game you can open the reshade settings and set a toggle key that turns the effects off/on. If you want to get rid of reshade entirely, you can go to your windows search bar and type in 'reshade'. Then run the reshade installation file but select the uninstall option. Hope this helps

Installation Instructions:
"Witcher Mod Manager
Install the file in the normal way. This handles some of the configuration, but it currently can't edit the dx11 and dx12 files for you. Hopefully it will be updated soon.
Or
Download the file manually and extract the contents of the folder to your Witcher 3 install folder. If you've installed the mod before you'll be asked to overwrite some files. It's safe to overwrite everything
Copy the contents of the user.settings.part.txt file to the bottom of the user.settings file in the My Documents\The Witcher 3\. Do the same for the dx12user.settings.part.txt file.
If you use a lot of mods try using the Script Merger tool to resolve any conflicts that might occur.
Once you've installed the mod, you need to edit the DX11 and DX12 file lists text files to include the text "modAutoApplyOils.xml;" at the bottom. These files are found in [The Witcher 3 install location]\bin\config

Where is that Quen from?
Magic Spells mod, it gives you different books and relics that give each sign a second ability. For instance, If I had the Tome of energy, I would also have electric Quen. Incredible mod

Bad idea to download more ReShade effects that what you use. It just clutters up your menu.
Why limit yourself? If you desire a different effect you have to reinstall reshade entirely. The person who created the reshade preset even agrees lol: "I suggest installing all available "shaders". This means that all the effects you need are available and you can easily switch in game between different presets." I mean hey do what works for you, but that sounds tedious and limiting. There is a button at the top that allows you to organize your active effects to the top of the list as well.

I make my own presets most of the time and I'm very observant so if I notice even one little thing seems off I start making changes and when you have to open that menu about 50 times every 10 minutes for the first 5 hours like I do having only the effects listed that you're actually using helps to make that process more efficient so you don't waste time trying to find the effect you need to change.
Most of the shaders aren't even of use to people. Most people use stuff like FakeHDR, sharpening methods, DOF effects, ect. Nobody needs the debug shaders.
@@jerichosamurai Yeah I hear ya, totally depends on the user and effects chosen. While a lot are repeat effects, and some redundant, many are superior to others at preforming the same tasks. Some authors offer more variety, sliders, and options, while others work more efficiently etc. Having the full list of effects helps new users when switching between other user made presets. I know you said you make your own, but not all out there can or choose to. For someone's first or second experience, I definitely recommend selecting all effects as they most likely use a preset. That preset may use effects from multiple packs or even all of them.
Auto apply oil mid is useless since there is a setting in game that does it
Isn't there a in game setting that does automatic oil application? I remember seeing it in the gameplay section of the options menu.
