This is a fun little horror game where the limitations of the mouse-only control scheme make for a very unique experience. If you thought Resident Evil's tank controls increase the tension during combat, try moving, turning, picking up ammo, aiming and reloading all with the mouse! :)
Pretty crazy, with normal controls this is a tiny map that you can pass under 5 minutes, but instead the mouse controls turn it to the average sized game and also makes it more challenging
so this is what it feels like when playing a fps version of the first resident evil with those controls ?
So reciver but Moses only
Hello I'm here too
It's so fun imagining a guy walks in fast tempo like a penguin and then stops at a corner before he does a 90° degree turn and start walking again
Haha, yeah it would be fun to see a third person replay after you complete a level!
Technically, when you have disorientation, migrain, arterial problems, somewhat like that happens, because quick turn can even knock out.
Is there any backstory that explain why the MC do that? Would be interesting
@@r3dr4te963they do wake up with a splitting head ache.
@@PivoPshenichnoe No way, Leon Kennedy got transferred into this game 💀💀💀
You know, until the parasite mass section, I actually wondered if you were playing as the parasite and merely had a warped view of the world. I mean, think about it: no idea what's going on, wakes up in a cell, has to be controlled by focusing on individual tasks rather than just going on autopilot, it sounds like a "you were the parasite all along" story. The flying teeth kinda debunks that though.
I love how Alpha backed away quickly when the winged fangs appeared. Like: "Nope, nope, nope, nope!" 😂
I thought the same when I saw the feet. Interesting concept, you being the parasite and having to learn all the basic functions of being human.
Me in 2014 - "in ten years games gonna be awesome!"
2024 - click boots to walk
when the body dropped you can see the fear at 13:35 of alpha beta from the cursor flying around
this was the best part to me💀
fear or shock?
This would be fun to play with multiple people each controlling a cursor. Imagine the chaos!
Hand simulatior?
Havik wants to know your position.
Or perhaps where a player each control a certain part of the player character; One person for the Walking, Another for the Turning, Another Still for the Shooting, etc.
@@ImCurrentlyNaked Yeah, that's what I had in mind too, that would be so fun with friends!
Ah yes the ancient art of walking, easy to learn but impossible to master.
Seriously it’s got no skill ceiling and it’s got no skill floor. Walking is the worst.
@@jeremytitus9519how can you walk without a skill floor?
@@MageBurgerWouldn't crawling be the skill floor?
@@jeremytitus9519 . You'd be surprised, there's even skill ceiling for breathing, I'm really upping my basic skills these days
This feels like it could actually be a great mobile survival horror game, instead of mouse you have tap controls and while still being jank, it's just the right balance between jank and engaging to play.
It'll probably defeat the purpose; you can use multiple fingers while playing in a mobile.
I just stumbled across this channel and watched a few videos,
This channel is such a treasure chest for me, I always loved these kind of not so well known and obscure games.
Some of these indie games are truly where creativity shines.
Subbed.
keep up the good work!
Thank you very much! Glad you like the vids! :)
this reminds me of that one game where your character loses bot legs and one arm, and there is a parasite inside of you that you need to hold it with srynges, you do everything with your mouse too
Endoparasitic
I love how subtitles constantly say [Applause] when he's walking lmao
No way really? Lmfao
They always do that
Feels and kinda also looks like a game I'd expect to be obscure in the late 90s
Not a quality many games can pull off, but well done to the dev.
Reminds me of those old fps games that either let you incorporated everything but the mouse or control the game using only the mouse.
I can't remember the last time I saw a one handed game that could be played on CZcams.
I love the frantic movement of the mouse during that jump scare😂
This plays like a Nintendo ds game that's only released in Japan and got a fan translation recently
?
!
ABG: I think I'd call it sole survivor.
Monster: YOU THOUGHT, N-
Hey ABG, I appreciate the puns you put at the end of every video.
Imagine if the premise expands - you took a drug that put more and more of your systems on manual control. First, walking, turning etc. then? Breathing? Blinking? Heart pumping blood? All mapped to more and more keys on the keyboard. In a horror game.
:D
Yeah, it's got a lot of potential for expanding on. Also, driving a car, operating/reloading different types of guns, using grenades, etc. You could even lose the use of your legs and end up crawling with your hands.
that is the plot of manual samuel
Blinking is existing in SCP Containment Breach
I do remember one game where MC "dies" and gets back to life again and then player have to manually control his movement (legs and hands separatly), breathing (or MC will suffocate) and blinking (or vision will become brightly blur)
@@saninspectorjunte3879 Yeo, that's Manual Samuel. Great game!
If a WarioWare microgame was a fps horror:
this feels like it wouldve fit perfectly on the DS
takes "walking simulator" to the next level
This would make a great game for the DS
I couldn’t help but to smile all the time when ever you took your steps. This game is dope lmao.
This seems like it could be cool but seeing so far i dont think the concept is utilized so well. I think the traversal could be utilized to make you treat every situation extremely cautiously, like in an actual zombie apocalypse. Imagine having to intuit various motions to do so you can evade traps, tip toe around, and consider various ways to avoid the zombies? Your movement system naturally funnels you into being considerate of every motion, so I think that would work well. It's harsh to say, but without mechanics like that it basically is just a game where walking is obtuse
Dragon's Lair. You are describing Dragon's Lair.
@@RianQuenlin what I mean to be a bit more succinct is that the game makes you be very deliberate and slow, so the gameplay should account for that. In an expansion of the game, the movement shouldn't just be clunky for the sake of it, but accounted for in gameplay. Needing to have precision in movement, using the slow pace of movement so you observe and consider the environment / situations and cause interesting gameplay diversions via panic could all work to expand on the concept, which are sadly ideas that this doesn't seem to present. It's obviously a small experiment, but I wish they leaned into this sort of thing more. Maybe an expansion on the idea, but I doubt that'd be made.
Speedruns are gonna be hell
Still looks easier to control than system shock
There's something very satisfying about refilling a revolver, but this makes that stressful
Yeah, I love being able to manually reload guns in games. It makes it much more tense then a monster is bearing down on you!
@@AlphaBetaGamerI wonder if there's another House of the Dead or Resident Evil ripoff games like these
those puns at the end were perfect!
definitely heavy influence from 'night at the gates of hell' in this, the knife mechanic and zombies are identical
i think controls like this are super creative, and a great step in the direction of accessible controls for gamers who might be disabled, well done
I think that the premise of making controls so obtuse is quite interesting!
Here are my ideas:
I think that click-to-walk would be supported with pointing toward specific direction with WSAD or arrows.
I suspect that this would make game still somehow obtuse, but movement would feel a bit more natural, not like controlling a robot remotely.
This mechanic would be supported with very limited stamina if we need to add challenge.
Or sometimes the main character would sway incontrollably, and you need to perform certain minigame with mouse so that the player's character
will not fall.
I think that the levels shouldn't be so linear. There should be much more space to walk around or alternative paths, so that you
can barely evade certain enemies.
I thought about ability to push enemies.
Chance of pushing enemy wouldn't be 100% - sometimes you would succeed, sometimes not. That would add to the game's tension.
Also, the game is predictable. There's limited ammo against enemies wich you can't avoid. You can
make accurate prediction of how many enemies are here because of that.
I thought about defeating enemies with surrounding features like traps, elecric cables, chairs, broken bottles itd.
So that you woulnd't be able to predict enemies' count by looking at your ammo.
This feels like an evolved off shoot of adventure/puzzle exploration games that only pre-rendered images.
Reminds me of those early 2000's flash games from Newgrounds.
Another reason to follow this channel!
big fan of how the game takes the time to force you to look at the thing you're already looking at and state the obvious
13:34 Man ngl, I stop playing cry of fear for a while because I got jumpscared the same way this one does
Still having Deja vu
Unique concept, I like it so much.
oh the reloading really feels like endoparastitic
walking backwards!! That’s cool!!! Are there more games with that same Game mechanic
Man I absolutely HATE the fact that you dont look all around before going around corners n stuff XD Im so damn paranoid amazing video though very spooky
At first i wondered exactly how scary this would get abd im glad it was an exercise in tension and building that tension up!
The start where the blast door and the controll office is located its like the chapter "blast pit" from half life
Man this would be sick on the DS
No lie we need more games like this
I like the way difficult controls make the protagonist very much feel like a wounded man, but I wonder where the neural parasite comes in...can't help but feel he's just taken it back to the US army.
Very unique walking system. I like its creative programing.
I misread the thumbnail as Neutral Palestine 💀 that would be an interesting experiment for sure
12:38 so polite of the zombies to close the door behind them
such a weird game and yet nicer than most of the actual horror games
I wonder what speed runs of this are like
Awwww hell yeah! I’d pay money for this on Steam!
that would be a medical breakthrough! what are the chances that his thoughts would coincide with the inputted reaction responses, like he wouldn't even be aware that he was being controlled?
the feet are absolutely hilarious to me
That would make a good drinking game.
Who the hell thinks of a piont
And click game with a live gameplay that's just cursed 😂
Sick a different kind of game for sure. Definitely not for everyone but i can see its potential.
Especially for hardcore gamers who love tension.
Feels like there show be more WW2 and WW1 horror games.
@DeadfishKing
> there are plenty!
> Literally names one.
13:35 that was quite the spook ^^
The most not scariest horror game ever probably. Also good video man, Looking forward to this channel 👍
Nothing like some blaring alarms to fall asleep to 😊
I feel like Cha Cha Slide by Dj Casper would work well here.
Very immersive. I like it.
This must be Manual Samuel's grandfather
This really feels like it was midly inspired by Black-Eyed Priest's work. Especially Night in the Gates of Hell.
*sees a dead guy with a knife on his head*
"Oh right I should take that 👍"
Y'all dont hear the Lethal Company alarm at the beginning of the video😂😭?
Not the type of game i play only with one hand on the mouse , but why not
Me with an auto-clicker: I am speed.
So, you play as a lobotomite in this game.
Tank controls taken to the extreme. Hilarious to watch. Don't think I'd enjoy playing it.
Moonwalking out of a fight
Too scary for Parasites and mouse operated games
Thats a very modern looking elevator for a 1942’s german bunker
This gives Endoparasitic vibes with its controls.
This reminds me of Manual Samuel, but first person and horror focused instead of comedy
the fact you can't use the mouse in the top area to aim the flashlight or pan around is a incredible missed opportunity. like that's not mouse controls, thats clicking keyboards buttons on the screen. Look at how first person wii games handle turning and aiming for what I was hoping to see.
Lclick and drag to pan, rclick to point would be a more fluid configuration, and you could add holding both sides down to access movement.
Hey, ABG, are you clicking each shoe to step, or can you just hold the mouse down and wiggle it side to side?
People are bringing up the resident evil games, but I want to point out they still gave you quickturns for fast 180s.
I almost died of laughter when I saw the gameplay😂😂😂
I used to play Doom 2 with only a mouse.
every german soldier had smith and wesson
Nobody gonna mention the Gmod font lmao
and this game makes me wonder if the 3ds or ds homebrew scene wanted to they could port this over onto one or the other depending on hardware requirements and see how well it'd fare using the touchscreen. now that i think of constantly tapping the left and right feet back and forth, likely not well.
The real horror of this game is the controls
Wow, it really give you tension
THIS GAME WOULD BE AMAZING FOR THE NINTENDO DS
this one would be a great Nintendo DS title
Not a big mobile gamer, but this would be well optimized for a touchscreen platform.
Yeah, I totally agree!
it should be a fun little DS game
we finally discovered a control scheme worse than tank controls...
This looks like a game you could play on a Nintendo DS.
Feels like mobile game or flash game but with only mouse controls.
Remind anyone of ikenie no yoru and The Nameless Game?
Would be a nice concept for a mobile game, although, not for PC.
The control scheme is kinda similar to "The Nameless Game".
Is this game based on “nights at the gate’s of hell”
If this was a DS game the touch pad would be obliterated.
Night at the gae of hell vibes
At the least we dont just have an arm and going on mach speed.
Really neat idea. I do wish the protagonist talked less. Things are more scary when you're not stuck in dialogue, almost half the game.
i thought you meant mouse as rat.
