I take a look at this location in the west that could be a 6fer? Do you think it's 6 parks?

We have a 5fer in the Columbia Gorge in Oregon. Potentially a 6fer now with one of the new pota entities

@AA0Z Looks like the Continental Divide Trail National Scenic Trail K-4558 crosses these other historic trails in about the same place. If you replace K-6194 with K-4558, and assuming the intersection is in the same BLM land you have another 6FER. The location I am think of is at 42°26'18.6"N 108°37'40.6"W. The POTA site description for the BLM land mentions it being almost 800K Acres. I am thinking this may be another 6FER near by. Although if you activated both you would only pick up one more park. Still this is a very interesting area in Wyoming where all these trails cross. It's also very beautiful area in Wyoming to explore.
Very interesting. You might be right. All those trails intersect there. The question would be around the BLM land, right?
@@AA0Z Now that I found the Polygon data for the Continental Peak BLM Herd Management Area, this site where the Continental divide trail crosses, I can confirm that point is not in Park K-6161. I am looking to see if it within some other BLM land designation that has a Park number.
@@kc0luh Where did you get the polygon data? Pepole are emailing me saying Continental Peak Heard Mgt doesn't even exist.
This looks like a killer road trip.
That's out in the middle of nowhere!!! But yes, I'm heading out there next summer when I visit Yellowstone.
@@AA0Z I was thinking maybe making it a group trip. A 6Fer with multiple operators hunting park to parks - see someone get spotted for the 1st time, get a hold of them and Oh let's activate your park for you. Here are my 6 parks and here are my 10 operators. BOOM. drops mic, walks away like a superstar.

Yup - been there. Tried to activate it this last summer as a tech doing 10m.... I had a lot of issues and a lot of noise, so no contacts for me... There is another 5fer just east of Portland Oregon as well, right off the main highway.
Now get some people there each with a different club call... I did make contact with 2 ops, at a 4-fer, each with a different club call. CHA-CHING! 73!

@@AA0Z maybe designation is the wrong word. Something like where the 4 states come together in the corners. It has a tourist spot.
