  • after much research and conversations, i decided to install brentune/bt moto tune on the m1000xr. the second gear dead spot between 4-7k rpm is literally dangerous. i tried to avoid it by staying in first gear much longer before shifting in second gear. in general, there's a seeming flat spot in the midrange then there's a massive rush of power that wants to throw rider off the back seat. brentune appears to have fixed issues. note these runs are at altitude of 5208 feet or 1609 meters.

Nice! Just grabbed one and they had some really good discounts. Ended up $819 out the door with the memorial sale and 5% off discount.

Wonder if you’re having any issues with the tune? Noticing that sometimes I’m coming to a stop and first gear with a clutch in and it is revved up kind of high revving up and down by itself. Also when I release the throttle and let the bike slow down, it kind of catches around 4000 RPM and then releases.

as far as i can tell, no issues with tune and, certainly, no issues like what you're experiencing. sorry.
