Honestly the looks and interior of the gv70 is just so much better than the rivals... It looks absolutely stunning

@M.J.G. Actually Design is person opinion, PORSCHE MACAN is also good, but I think just In my opinion this looks better. Personally I really like the back and interior. And also high tech things which they doesn’t have.

“The beauty of white space” is Korean traditional metaphor meaning empty or plain space is beautiful. It is better to call “beauty of empty space” The reason why white is old Korean painters did’t filled colours in background of their paintings . Rather, just left it white making it simple, humble and comfy. Think about iPhone white.
Or "negative space" to use modern design lingo.

It's a lovely concept and what makes beautiful design (in contrast to horror vacui, or fear of empty space)
It's less cluttered and has a very modern/simplistic/scandinavian feel but just a bit different. If scandinavian chic feels like it's trying really hard to be simple and clean, this feels effortless.
It's also used in building webpages.

I totally agree with Thomas “they’re no longer an underdog” so we can hold them to higher standards, which they are matching. I’m really hoping they bring a true performance version (N/Rspec/ whatever they choose to call it) to truly rival the germans. Good job Genesis!!!
But honestly why tho?! What's with guys and performance?! Hahaha... Most folks won't buy the performance models because the 3.5T is more than adequate.
And the M/RS/AMG models just turn drivers to jerks on the road. Like seriously those Performance models end up in the shop after multiple aggressive driving.

@@nbibe24 performance versions bring people in, I'm certain there's countless 5 series owners that wanted a m5 but settled for a 530i even though it's no faster than any other luxury car.
My girlfriend had a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and it literally caught on fire.
Bought a GV70 3.5T in early November 2021. It's an excellent vehicle - very happy with it. My first foray in to luxury SUVs, and so far I'm not disappointed. A couple things to note: If considering the smaller 2.5T four cylinder engine, don't worry about any meaningful difference in performance from the 3.5T. I test drove both, and I really couldn't tell the difference in driving power. The smaller 2.5T makes more noise, but is no less athletic. And, it costs much less, and gets better gas mileage. The reason I went with the larger, more expensive 3.5T is because I wanted the option package with the electronically controlled suspension, as well as the option package that included the matte green finish (which looks awesome). I value quiet and smooth, so wanted the less noisy engine and the smoother suspension. All in all, really pleased. I don't like the German vehicles, purely because of the nasty repair costs. One thing to beware of: you're buying this luxury Genesis in a most-decidedly un-luxury Hyundai dealership. If you demand a white-glove dealership experience like Lexus, Mercedes, Cadillac, etc., you will NOT get that at the Hyundai dealership.

@@blade4306 still loving it, and I would highly recommend the GV70. There isn’t anything I’d change about it. I love how quiet and smooth it is. And the technology isn’t too hard to master (I’m 59, and pretty old school when it comes to my vehicle’s knobs and buttons - I like them to be simple.). Gas mileage is just what was advertised. Plenty of power for me. I get a ton of compliments on it, especially the matte green color. As I mentioned in my original review, you’re buying this from a Hyundai dealership. If your used to white-glove treatment from luxury brand dealerships (Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, et al), brace yourself - you won’t be getting that from a Hyundai dealership. In fairness, some are better than others - we winter in Scottsdale Arizona, where the Hyundai dealership is quite professional. Northern Chicago suburbs is a different story. All things considered, very pleased with the GV70.

A Florida law firm specializing in consumer advocacy has filed a federal class-action lawsuit against Hyundai, claiming that the Genesis GV80 sport-utility is unsafe.
Corwin Law, based in Boca Raton, filed the lawsuit on behalf of owners and lessees of the GV80, which launched as an all-new model for 2021. The lawsuit claims the automaker is “promoting the GV80 luxury SUV, despite being aware of dangerous defects affecting the vehicle’s driveability that are documented in Korean news media and current customer message boards.”

I'm a long time Top Gear fan but after watching TH and going back to old TG episodes, they feel dated and inferior overall. TG has really high notes but a lot of long boring content too. TH you can just watch straight through.

Yes sir! The only thing I would do different is I would remove the Genesis name badge from the rear and I would install an actual badge. I don't like this new trend of spelling out the car brand in text at the rear. It does not look good on any car tbh.

Even the color is spot on. Red usually looks quite over-the-top, but this tone is not too showy and even rather pleasing to the eye.
That interior has a hint of Bugatti in it. Simple , Elegant, Gorgeous

Definitely a pretty interior. It’s very modern too. My only issue with Genesis is you have to explain to everyone why you just dropped $70k on a Hyundai. Everyone will understand that price point if you bought a Lexus or BMW or Range Rover or Audi or Mercedes.
Hopefully, Genesis can turn that around in the coming years. They’re definitely on the right track!

My boss ordered one and we went 2 weeks ago to test driver it and it's an amazing suv. It drives so nice. He got the sport plus with all the bells and whistles. He trade his 2016 750i , and he was amazed. He can't wait to get it in September.
I bought a Sport Plus. It's really nice. But unlike your boss I'm picking up mine this saturday :)
I would ONLY get this the GV70 in Sports trim. I personally like the wheels and the interior and exterior is my favorite!

I like this GV70 a lot. Quite frankly, I think it has more than enough horsepower for me. Personally, I think there's too much emphasis on horsepower and how quick or fast a lot of these vehicles are nowadays. The average purchaser of a sport ute, luxury sedan or truck will NEVER push their vehicles to their full potential. Hell, it takes the average driver close to freakin' 30 seconds or more just to get to 45 MPH from a stop at a traffic light.
In Korean, 'Beauty of white space' means something like minimalism

Craziest thing about this is that Genesis is fighting the legendary Merc and BMW in a way that Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, Mazda, Jaguar, Cadilac, Linclon, Audi, Range Rover, and Buick can not.

As a Lexus driver, I believe my next car will be a Genesis.
Given Lexus is beginning to slip down the same sportiness over comfort hole the Germans are; you would likely feel more at home in a genesis than what Lexus will be selling at the time.

I have the fully loaded 3.5 sports prestige. Bought it last Monday. Have ZERO regrets. It is gorgeous inside and out. Absolutely love it.
The whole Genesis lineup actually gets me excited, while other brands have gone dull, each of their cars are exciting for me design wise, both inside and out. More brands should take notes....

Probably one of the only small premium crossovers that has a decent value proposition. BMWs and Mercedes have their place, but they are designed to be ridiculously expensive, this is a good in between. Not to mention that six is sure to be an perfect balance of comfort and performance.

White space is basically having simplicity/lack of noise and using it to benefit your design and layout. It's something really important in newspapers and apparently car design which is cool to me
I saw the photo and thought “OMG IT’S THE SHOOTING BRAKE GENESIS” and then realized it’s the SUV.
Still amazing how far Hyundai has come.

@@antoinewilliams129 It's still a Hyundai. The infotainment is a slightly reskinned version of the regular Hyundai infotainment system you would find in the limited trim, and you still get the 10yr warranty

Based on your review and few others I bought my 2023 gv 70 in a sport prestige, and it's a beautiful vehicle inside and out. I just came back from a 5k miles trip and have nothing but good things to say. And their valet services are super handy as well.

As someone who’s has been eyeing the g70 and normally wouldn’t consider himself a suv person, I want to get this car. Both the interior and exterior look amazing.
I‘d rather have a 3,5L turbo that is a second slower to 100kph than a BMW 3,0 turbo but doesnt break down as soon as the warranty is over lol.

Intro deserves a like all on its own
First of all....love your channel. Second, thanks for doing the review. I'm six months into my decked out GV70. I drove five hours to get exactly what I wanted in Silver/Aquamarine blue. I traded up from a '19 G70 3.3T dynamic (too tall for it). Genesis definitely hit a home run with the GV70. I agree with the turbo lag and it could have just a bit better gas mileage. But a phenomenal SUV that looks better than a Macan for much less money. The biggest challenge for Genesis is brand recognition. Last year, they sold 1/20th of what Tesla did because Tesla has a cult following. Nobody knows Genesis after six years as a separate brand. Those that have heard of it still think it's that big sedan made by Hyundai. Their best publicity, unfortunately, is Tiger Woods rolling down a cliff in one.
Precisely my current circumstance! I have a Siberian Ice colored '19 G70 3.3T. I need easier access and more room for the golf gear/pushcart. GV70 is spot on, and the interior/hushed drive will do the trick! How's the vehicle thus far? Any regrets?

As per the GV70 itself. I don't understand why people would want to buy an SUV and expect it to be fun to drive. For those who actually NEED the practicality of an SUV, fun to drive isn't really something on their mind because they can't drive enthusiastically if they're actually hauling people and cargo around anyhow. I guess this fits the bill for people who don't actually need SUV but just want it because...GOTTA HAVE SUV!!11!ONE!!

I know that everyone has opinions on this being just a Hyndai or that Genesis is out of its league but this GV70 is by far the best looking vehicle in this class. It blows the X3, Q5, GLC, anything out of the water in terms of interior and exterior looks. And I'm 100% willing to lose 1 second 0-60 for the looks of this car.

I think this makes much more sense than one of the German brands. I’m not buying an suv for a sporty driving experience so I don’t care how fast it is. Give me comfort, safety and an enjoyable driving experience. Then utility. I like their customer service approach.
It has 300 hp i think that's more than enough, coupled with ride quality and interiors this is a winner! Best in the segment for sure hands down!

I just got the GV70 Sport Plus and I love it............if you want fuel economy keep it in ECO mode!! This is my fourth Genesis and the brand just keeps improving! Great reviews guys........I have the 3d cluster and it's awesome.

I ended up getting this. I think there was something wrong with the unit you had. It does 0-60 in 4.9s and that seems to be what pretty much most other reviewers have seen too. Otherwise great review. I paid the extra for the sport prestige, and am very happy with that decision.
When I seen this at the Hyundai dealership in that beautiful red. I completely forgot about range rover 😅. Definitely think this will pull me into the SUV trend train.

After owning 9 Mercedes models I have made the switch to Genesis. A GV80 Prestige for her, and a GV70 3.5T Sport for me. We couldn't be happier. In fact we got out of a GLS for the GV80 and it is just that much more comfortable for way less money. When you drive the Genesis, it just feels different. They don't have the punch of an AMG but they feel refined like the Mercedes should be but are not because they have compromised comfort for sport. I am honestly hard pressed to find something I don't like about either one of these vehicles.

I work at Genesis of Southwest Houston here in Houston, TX. and the GV70 is such an amazing SUV/CUV! They are hard to keep on the lot! Especially with this chip shortage
