Allahumma Barik very honest brother, no bravado makes a change. May Allah bless him and his family and keep him safe. Alhamdulillah he made it.
Big ep
Asalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu brs. I was listening to br Abdul Wahab's interview which led onto this. I'm so glad I listened till the end because one pov of br J really hit home. Truly we are a broken family and I make dua that we are united as an Ummah again soon } Allahumma Ameen. To the br whose production this is, please don't take this as a criticism but instead naseeha. The Prophet ﷺ said: All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins to the people. - Sahih Bukhari 6069. Br J eloquently left it as he was far from the Deen whilst recollecting his life but the interviewer responded by specifically querying whether br J was reading his salah. Whilst stories of brs who have left sinful pasts can influence others for the better recalling specific sins or stating how you were outside of the fold of Islam, I would humbly put forward falls within the disclosure we are told to refrain from. Please be mindful of this in future interviews. Your sister in Islam.
The hadith from Ka’ab ibn Malik states one can narrate ones sin as long there is a warning/benefit/naseeha after. As long as we don’t glorify the sin and recognise it was a mistake and Allah guide us/them in sha Allah there is benefit. الله أعلم
he's wording is so bad that he struggles to speak. anyway good podcast overall
Why are they only interviewing people that went to jail and prison? Is that the only muslims they know? C'mon fix up!!!! Same old dead boring roadman stories. All these ex-roadman are broke and dusty now. So some positvity for once!
The reason they're interviewing people with such backgrounds is because they want the stories of these brothers to be learning lesson for the young ones. They don't glorify their past mistakes, they cover them to show how people's past don't determine their future.
