  • Hab mal meinen Casio mit einem Ti verglichen. Ich verstehe nicht warum das lahme Ding von TI überhaupt noch verkauft wird.

I was talking about maths with a friend, when I stumbled across this video.
I have the Casio fx-9860G, the predecessor of the one shown, but it is basically the same, and just as fast.
My friend has the TI 84 Plus CE-T, the newer version of the one in this video, and with colour display (models with a C have this), but it is barely faster than the TI shown.
Here in the Netherlands both are allowed for exams, even mine still is, but with a note that it is at your own risk if it can't do all equations.
I never owned a TI and barely used them, but I do know I will keep using Casio.

I have the Casio fx-9860GII calculator, it is amazing.
It is the only calculator I have been completely happy with, it is very easy to use and can do pretty much anything.
I really like how it can actually write fractions and how the square root sign lets you write everything *under* the sign, instead of having to muck around with parantheses in order to tell the calculator what it is that you want to take the square root of.
And trust me, these two qualities alone make computations *much* easier.

Actually, forget that - I got a "Casio CG-20" a year ago and that one is even better. xD
It's basically Casio 9860 plus a bunch of more stuff, like colour display for example (which is actually very useful for keeping track of nested parantheses).
In fact, I would give that beast the score 10/10.

Laurelindo Oh and get ptune2 v1.01 to overclock the FX-9860gii from a measly 30 MHz to 240 MHz. This will make it nearly 5x faster than it already is, since performance doesnt scale linearly with clock speed.

The Casio FX-9750GII goes for as cheap as 50 dollars, and does graphs a hair slower than the 9650GII.
The TI-nspire CX II CAS, released in 2019, goes for 150 dollars and is only now starting to catch up with the older, cheaper Casios.

no CAS no talk.. In my country, they don't know WTH is CAS.. so I was using CAS calculator [Casio Algebra FX2-PLUS] around 15 years ago during my studies. it was a clear advantage.
